S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold Gallery 2.0
40 Attachment(s)
"Kyoryu Gold, has arrived!"
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger is long over by now but the last figuart released from the series is still quite a good one. So we thought it was only appropriate that it deserved a 2.0 Gallery! And so S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold is yet another sixth ranger to add to your collection, and luckily it appears a much more affordable one than he was upon release. Kyoryu Gold also has the odd distinction of being the actual 6th, 6th ranger, SHF to be released. There's something kind of awesome about that. But more to the point, the figure! Packaging Kyoryu Gold was released in 2014 as a Tamashii Web Exclusive. As such he came in the now more or less standard windowless box with full artwork. Just as the Kyoryu Blue/Green & Black/Pink 2-packs did. So if you've seen either of those you know what to expect. The only differences of course being the stock images etc on the packaging. On to the figure! Main Figure For starters Kyoru Gold, or Uchy as his friends loved to call him, is a gorgeous figure. Even after 5 releases the male Kyoryuger mold has never looked this good. As the 6th release from Kyoryuger, bearing more than a few reused molded parts from his predecessors, but he's a step above the rest. Perhaps it's the crisp gold paint or the gorgeous blue trim. Something about this figure really makes it shine, for lack of a better term. Of course there are some alterations to the base body to give Kyoryu Gold just a little more originality. Mostly some added bulk but it goes very far to making him look much more imposing than the other Kyoryugers. As with the others the sculpt of Kyoryu Gold is on point. The arms feature the same brilliant "scale" detailing, the Mobuckle is beautiful while only half functional, and the head is magnificent. The more extravagant helmets seem to look the best on these figures. Kyoryu Gold by far has the best. He also has the most intricate and well painted chest sash of the 6 figures. On top of this Kyoryu Gold has a fantastic range of motion as can be expected after 5 other releases in this similar body type. His shoulder armor is hinged to get out of the way for dynamic posing, and his back wings are just the right size so as not to interfere with any of his body movements. Though they do tend to be in the perfect location to make Tamashii Stages difficult to use. Though many collectors have complained the wings are a bit on the small side, they appear to be only slightly undersized. Effect parts of the wings enlarged and or flapping would have been nice but that's expecting too much from a Web Exclusive release. The only other major difference between this release and the others is the wrist mounted Gaburi Changer. It's a gorgeously detailed piece that is for some bizarre reason removable despite that having never occurred in the show. In fact there are alternate left hands as well, that serve no real purpose as I detail in the accessories section. The one gripe I have about the Gaburichanger itself is it's non-functionality. Though I suppose it is to be expected after the Gaburevolvers & Caliburs were not made to accept Zyudenchi. But a tiny hinge and a shallow port for one seems like a no-brainer to me. But again, read on in the accessories section to see how similarly his other weapon was handled. After owning this guy for over a year and a half I can report there are no real QC issues to speak of on mine. It's still a fantastic figuart, it still holds up with more contemporary releases like Akaranger or Vul Eagle quite well. Accessories As mentioned above the accessory count for S.H. Figuarts Kyoru Gold is a bit low but that's to be expected: 5 - additional hands for posing. 2 of which are for his left wrist and make no damn sense. The Gaburi Changer is a separate piece despite being packed already attached to the left arm. It can be removed, and pegs into the wrist, and it can be taken out of the hand. Though there's no real purpose to this, at all. The Changer was almost exclusively seen being grasped in his left hand in show footage. The two open left hands can't possibly be used in any realistic way with how this toy is designed. Having them open doesn't allow him any greater ability to hold something when that blue bar from the Changer is still smack in the middle of his palm. 1 -Zandar Thunder sword. The paint is exquisite on this bad boy, right down to the actual "Zandar Thunder" text which goes from the hand guard down the blade. It's a gorgeous weapon. Unfortunately though it's practically non-functional. The Zandar can be opened to reveal what would have been the 3 Zyudenchi slots on the real deal. But the SHF opts not to hollow those spots out, leaving only tiny indentations instead. Which brings us to the next included accessory, 1 - Generic Zyudenchi. By association it should be #6 Pteragordon Zyudenchi but it simply isn't painted correctly. Though to be fair none of the 6 Kyoryuger Figuarts have Zyudenchi with entirely accurate colors. That's mostly because at this scale it's nigh impossible to get it right. So some general colors are slapped on so you get a feel for it. Again this thing is infinitesimally small and I won't use it for anything again ever. As is it's kind of useless due to the nature of how the Zandar Thunder is designed here. It can barely even be held in Kyoryu Gold's hand. Unfortunately a hand specifically meant for holding Zyudenchi's is not included with Gold or any of the Kyoryugers. 1 - Fang Shot (Gabutyra Fang, Parasagun combo). This piece is meant to be used with the Shield Lan Slasher combo weapon that came in the Kyoryu Black & Pink 2-pack to form the completed Kentro Spiker! The otherwise individually released Armed On weapons do not combine, so buying Kyoryu Gold is the only way to complete a full Kentrospiker. While that may not seem very lite, Kyoryu Gold doesn't really come with a lot. The Zyudenchi is ultimately pointless, the Fang Shot is meant for other figures, and that limits what he personally uses to 5 hands (half of which are useless) and his sword. I still really wish some alternate wing effect parts had been included but this long after the fact I've made my peace with it. Final Thoughts Overall S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold is yet another wonderful addition to the Kyoryuger line of SHF's. Each was quite solid but he's definitely the best of the 6 released. Which I think at this point we can all agree are pretty much the only 6 Kyoryugers that will ever be released thanks to the all but unspoken death of the Sentai figuarts line. However if (and it's very likely) that Kyoryu Gold is the final Kyoryuger figuart, then it's a commendable release to end that subline on. |

And group shots!
- Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger assembled! - Kentropsiker! |
This guy is really nice. His colors are great. Gold and silver are always a winning combination, the blue just makes it all pop wonderfully. And when put next to the other five core Kyoryugers it makes for a really striking look. Especially since they lack a yellow ranger, he really fills out the palette. Very nice overall.

I love this figure! The gold looks so good and the lightning looks so great.
Like the other Kyoryuger figuarts, gold looks amazing. Though I wish they would make figuarts for the other Kyoryugers like violet, silver, cyan, gray, and deathryuger.
Love all the Kyoryuger figs. Like JulioToku said, a full team would be a dream to own. I know I'd at least get Gold and Violet.
I've always enjoy the Kyoryu Gold suit, and if I could only acquire one Kyoryuger Figuarts, then it would be Gold. He just looks so nice.
The design for Kyoryu Gold is all-around beautiful. Then again, I'm kind of partial to the Kyoryuger Figuarts anyway...
My favorite Sentai Figuart Kyoryu Gold and the best one made he also the tallest out of all the Kyoryuger figuarts excellent gallery. I still hope for Figuarts of cyan, gray, violet, and silver one day.
I love Golds design, and the figuart looks fantastic
Always loved gold's design with the exception of those limp wings on his back. Always thought they were goofy.
That figuart is beautiful. I would love to own him to match my samurai gold figuart. Gold is just a great color on figures.
Kyoryu Gold just looks wicked cool and though his accessories are somewhat lackluster he's all in all a solid release. Plus that gold paints pops in the photos; the 2.0 treatment gave Ucchi the justice he deserves!
I recently got the 5 inch Gold Ranger of the same design because of how nice it looks, and of course, this one looks even better. Really nice looking figure.
I always thought I preferred the look of silver to gold (say, I'd choose white gold over yellow gold when buying jewelry), but this figure is giving me cause to reconsider that. This is gorgeous, in both color and design.
Really love the design, while I've never had a sentai figuarts, of the ones made maybe this one would be the one to have for me.
Easily one of the best Sentai Figuarts to ever release. Pity we didn't get the rest of the team :(
6th ranger designs are so nice. I haven't even watched most of Kyoryuger yet, but this is pretty high on my list of figuarts.
I have to admit, this figure appeals more to me than most. I may have to snag him up if I ever get a good deal on one.
This guy looks awesome. Now if only we had the last four/five figures to complete the team
Design is fine, except:
1) My copy has some terrible tolerances. The left hip joint is ridiculously loose to the point it will pop off of the balljoint with minimal force 2) No energy effects for his wings or special attacks. It's a Tamashii Web exclusive, step up your fucking game Bandai Thankfully we have the Thunder Effects to be purchases separately, but damn we need them wings |
Kyoryu Gold is spot on, its just you going to want to collect the main 5 first before picking this guy up.
again, this is a pretty nice looking figure, but I would so lose that zyudenchi battery.
Gold is easily the best looking Kyoryuger figuarts. I'd love to have one if they weren't always $90+ when I see them for sale
I can't say "Kyoryu Gold" without doing the little clap in between the words.
Good grief, I loved Kyoryuger. My Gold, unfortunately, did have a bit of a QC problem: one of his legs loves coming off its hip socket. This figure was a ZYUDEN BRAVE FINISH to the Kyoryuger Figuarts line. Great gallery! |

love the look for this figure
and a love look of every kyuronger/dino charge memeber |
Man Kyoryu Gold has always been a fantastic design, really a great take on a ptera ranger.
Plus anyone who can Ride the Lightning instantly gains like +80 points on awesomeness :D |
Awesome figure, gold has to be my favorite kyoryuger of the show and this is a must for any fan.
Quality, as always.
On the one hand, accessories you build over a line are cool, but on the other hand, it kinda stinks if you're only getting one or two figures to be left with part of a weapon. Then again, it's not like there aren't also a ton of hands and stuff to store, so it can just be one more part in the bag. |
What makes him even cooler is the backstory and history of the character.
How are the wrists on yours? I've heard bad things about the wrists on the Kyoryuger SHFs.
I like the look of Kyoryu Gold's design and how incredible the figuart looks. Plus Kyoryu Gold has an awesome theme song.
Man, this thing looks awesome. Too bad it's kinda hard to get ahold of outside of cons now-a-days.
You know again, like the other Kyoryuger SHFs, if it wasn't for his price I'd buy him in a heartbeat due to my enjoyment of Ivan.

To be honest, Kyoryu Gold was the only Kyoryuger Figuart I was ever tempted to buying. I know there wasn't much they could've released him with due to his lack of any particular accessories beyond the Zandar Saber, but he still feels just a little shallow.
I'm not gonna lie, my interest in this suit is entirely based on Ivan in Dino Charge.
But that aside, this is easily the best-looking suit in all of Kyoryuger. The gold just explodes on this thing and that's beyond beautiful. |
this ranger had a spectacular debut in kyoryorangers! his character design is awesome, gold and blue work so well together.
and then bandai kills it with the figuarts! i wish bandai would go all out, and release teams of the past rangers. only catch, they gotta release it so we over here in america could get them!!! i would love to see the gekirangers. |
I've always liked Kyoryu Gold the most, something about the suit and his weapon really struck with me. I think it would have been a neat touch to have a little transparent plastic replica of the ZANDAR THUNDER attack as an accessory.
