Power Rangers Dino Charge - Season Finale - One More Energem - Poll & Discussion
This is it - the season finale of Power Rangers Dino Charge!
Sledge has the Purple Energem. The Power Rangers have decided that it's time to take the fight to him - aboard his ship in space! But before they can do that, Sledge attacks with a new weapon powered by the Purple Energem as well as a super-powered monster that overwhelms the team! What's worse - Sledge steals Tyler's Red Energem! The Power Rangers are going to need all the help they can get! This episode features the return of the Graphite Ranger to the team for the final battle! Even Keeper and Kendall join the fight! Will the Rangers take back the Purple and Red Energems? Will they be able to defeat this new, powerful monster? Will we ever get a new Purple Ranger? All those questions - and more - are answered in this season finale! Vote on the ep and discuss! |
Nice to see Keeper fighting, if only for a few seconds...
|
Agreed. And Kendall as purple, we all knew it. But it was nice to finally se it happen. And the scene between Shelby and Tyler on the ship was a bit touching. The team broke up thinking its all over. And Heckle is now on the loose.

2016 is gonna get Supercharged!

One of the best if not The Bast Season Finale Ever. Can't wait for Season 23 to start.

I'm behind on this season, but figured I would watch the finale anyways. Somewhat surprisingly it wasn't hard to follow. Really enjoyable episode. Especially seeing all of the new footage they're using for this series. Finally seeing Kendall become the Purple Ranger was nice.
I'm really looking forward to Dino Supercharge. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with it this time. |
This episode was great! Seeing the Graphite Ranger again was good. I wish he could appear more often. So, 8 down, 2 to go. Can't wait for Dino Supercharge.

I'm curious to see how they'll introduce the eleventh energem and the evil Ranger into the story. |
I hope we don't have to wait 3 or 4 years for a full season dvd set of this. I know over next year were going to have to wait the hole year to get 5 volumes i just want them to do a full season set like what they did for samurai & Super Samurai.

Great finale. A lot of original footage and most surprising, a lot of original megazord footage. I give it 5 out of 5!

Okay so overall Dino Charge was meh.
There were a lot of inconsistency with the energies that just really annoy me, as well as having no origin for the zords. So hopefully in the next season we get this explained. It just seems to be a very overlooked detail. So the episode itself was okay, defiantly had Power Ranger moments, like jumping a million feet in the air to the Tera zord, and some of the villains moments. So one quick question, did all of Sledge's crew and prisoners die? Besides Heckle/Snide of course. I'd really like to see Fury interact with Tyler more, as well as more shots of inside the ship in general. So as I said Dino Charge was pretty average of a season with inconsistency's that bother me. It was a good season mind you, but the whole energem stuff bothers me. Hopefully they fix this in time for Super Charge. |

That said, it's Lionsgate, so we'll likely be stuck buying five individual DVDs per season... or nothing at all... |
This was an amusing episode with good points, missed points, and a slightly uneven feel which strangely showcases that things don't have to be perfect to be good. Spoilers abound!
- The original footage was among the BEST and is a notable highlight with any adequate review of this episode. They added so much it's unreal! - The Sentai footage felt uneven here at times. It felt like it was forced and simplistically conceived. - The name "Greenzilla" feels so overly simple for modern P.R., but many monster and villain names have been such over the annals of the franchise. - If sporadic appearances by dangerous tentacles aboard the ship are supposed to be the harbinger of Greenzilla's debut, it didn't feel threatening enough. Greenzilla just didn't offer enough to warrant anything spectacular. - Fury had a fairly relegated role here. No specific emphasis of value. Not even a battle with anyone. - Phillip's next appearance wasn't that special. No individual battle, and no surprise at piloting a Megazord or using Dino Drive mode. - Kendall using the Energem to become a Ranger feels like a lackluster explanation, and the form even comes with an automatic Dino Saber! - The name "Plesio Charge Megazord: Pachy-Rex Formation". Uh, No! - Been better if Kendall, Tyler, and Phillip centered heavily and a group Energem reaction instigated the final combination. Instead, Tyler and Kend...Miss Morgan, and no reaction, rhyme, or reason behind the choice of Zords. - Doubt Sledge and Co. are dead. Don't assume too much with a disappearance. - Finale with Snide at the end? That sells it! |

Was it just me, or did anyone else feel like there was a bit too much going on in this episode. Not in a bad way, but more like "Man, this is good, but it could have been great if it was a two parter?" Like, things like Kendall becoming a ranger got very little set up here or at all when they really should have been doing that little by little all season and then bringing it all together here. Which they did a bit. But looking back, for the most part it was just us making guess based off of little things she did, like looks she gave. It never came from a character place.

The biggest problem with this episode is that it built itself up to be too much.
You had, what, two or three episodes focusing on the Purple Energem? And then, suddenly, Kendall is the Purple Ranger and she's piloting a Megazord and then the end? Not enough time to enjoy the climax of that story arch before it was executed. Secondly, it feels like the quest for the Purple Energem fell short of getting back the Red Energem, and that Kendall becoming the Purple Ranger was just a side-story to the REAL story of Tyler getting back the Red Energem. I mean, Tyler had all the cool fights, Kendall had one quick one and that was it. I'm forgiving of the Megazord names because, hey, who wants to trademark/copyright a different name for each formation? :) I loved the finale but I would not go even as far as saying it was the best season finale ever. Then again, we only have ... what, one other series to go off of in terms of "finales" in Megaforce? Since Samurai was written so horribly that there wasn't a "finale" in a sense, and every other series prior to that wasn't split in to two seasons? Dino Charge started with a bang and started to fizzle out at the end. Hopefully in Supercharge they capture the magic that made the first handful of episodes so fun and entertaining - and stop sacrificing story for sake of Sentai footage (looking at you Greenzilla). |

I actually enjoyed this episode a lot. Though it was a mandatory Sentai footage thing I thought the zord fight worked quite well and it was great to see the cockpit groups they had going on in it. I also liked that it was an actual season finale and not just an "end in the middle" like I expected it to be.
Still cba to write a review for it yet though. It's one Sentai so one season in my eyes, so it'll have to wait until this time next year :lol |
I had fun watching the finale, twice in fact. Once early and then again with my little sister. I could have done without Tyler's search for an energem. I'd have rather it been a cliff hanger and have Heckyl have the red energem and Tyler unable to morph because of it, sort of like when Casey lost his tiger spirit. Overall a fun episode and it's been a long time coming for Kendall as purple.
