Ninninger Episode 43- "The Legendary Ninja! Yokai Karuta Tactics" Discussion
Time for some emergency Super-Training! A mysterious green fellow shows up at the Dojo to take Nintality to the next level.
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Such a boring episode, but well worth it for that epic ending. GAME ON!!!!

Pre-episode thought? This feels far too much like a filler episode to be at episode 43. Sure cameos are great, but endgame stuff should surely be the main focus...
|
Is it me or is the ending way too similar to Shinkenger in which they bring back the main bad guy using the female villain's grief and sadness.

Waiting on subs. Any thoughts on what Kyuumonn said to the annoying wife other than offering his condolences? I can't help but to wonder who his mother is considering the revelation from last week where he revealed that he is Gengetsu's eldest son.

It was a clip show. EPISODE 43 WAS A CLIP SHOW. Not only that, it was about a game. Again. For like the 10th time in a row the episode was about a game. WTF. My expectations for the finale arc have crashed. I don't think Ninninger can rebound from this. Even if the last four episodes are great, they've wasted so many of the show's last few episodes on meaningless bullshit that I can't in good conscience ever say Ninninger is a good show. |
I don't know. While I wish they would have done more with the endgame, I feel like the focus was always more on the Igasaki clan than the villains. It's weird having a clip show so close to the end, and it's kind of disappointing that we won't actually get to spend more time with Gengetsu before the battle against him, but this episode at least served a purpose: to show how much they've grown as ninja throughout the series, and that they should be ready to take on Gengetsu. Do I wish they did more with it? Yes. But while there were a lot of missed opportunities, I've enjoyed every episode of this series, so I can't say it was a bad series.
The only thing I wish is that they did more with Kyuuemon. They built him up to be a great villain, and it seems like his plot is coming to an end. Who knows though, with three episodes left. Maybe they'll pull some big twist and Kyuuemon is going to be the one to kill Gengetsu? Overall, while this wasn't a great episode, it framed the final battle pretty well and I enjoyed it way more than I expected after seeing Lucha's post. (For the record, I don't blame people for not enjoying how this is playing out. I'm just personally okay with it.) |
I forgot about the Sentai End-of-Series clip show. Huh. Still, it was decent for what it was. Shurikenger's appearance was underused, but I love the Hurricaneger suits, so I was happy. The shrinked fight screamed Ant-Man, but it was a nice twist on the usual fight... even if some of the effects were a bit off.
Oh, and the ending. Because why spend time focusing on the revival when you can just stick it on the end of an unrelated episode, like almost every other plot line. |
The end is near. We've only got about 4 or 5 episodes left now. This episode was okay. I realize they were just trying to throw in one episode before the final episodes. I hope after this, it's just going to be the final story arc.

- Vilain rival to Red is defeated too early, leaving no real threat for the heroes, - Big bad appears at the very end, My main griefs about the writing : - Fox-yaro own scheming was just to bring back the big bad all along, which is incredibly stupid given it's the bad guys plan from the very start. There was no point in his secret origin. - Remember the point of collecting the 128 sealing shurikens ? No ? It's normal it has not been adressed since episode 2 or something. |
