Power Rangers Dino Charge 5" Sting Rage Gallery
27 Attachment(s)
During Power Rangers Dino Charge, the villainous Sting Rage would shoot his victims with a stinger that filled them with rage. Not even the Blue Dino Charge Ranger could hold back the rage, causing him to lash out and attack his friends.
Luckily, this figure won't fill you with the same type of rage. Sting Rage is available now in stores as part of the final wave of the Power Rangers Dino Charge toy line. He has yet to show up repackaged in the Power Rangers Dino Supercharge line of figures, but seeing as almost every other figure has been, it's only a matter of time before he pops up in wave 2 or 3 to help flesh out a wave. So how does he stack up? Read on to find out! The Figure During the gallery, I took a LOT of shots of the amount of sculpting detail that went in to him and it is GORGEOUS. I'm a big fan of his flame-shoulder-things, little ghosts pulling open their mouths and shooting out flames. Granted, it's only cosmetic (both in toy form and in the show), but it's still pretty sweet. Hands down, next to maybe Bones, this is one of the most beautifully sculpted figures in the entire 5" toy line. As for articulation - he is on par with the best figures of the line. He has 13 points of articulation (head swivel, full 360 arm swivel as well as joint, elbow joints, full 360 leg swivels and joints, as well as knee joints). The only part of his articulation that is hindered is the head, which finds itself hitting those awesome shoulders once you move it just a fraction either direction. If the shoulder decoration wasn't there his head would be able to do a full 360 rotation. Overall, he is one of the better articulated figures available in the line. The Accessories Sting Rage comes with his staff that, in the show, shot out stingers that filled their victims with rage. While there is no projectile firing mechanism in his staff, it is still beautifully sculpted and looks great. A touch of paint on the faces would have been great but overall I cannot complain. If you're going to include an accessory and do the very minimal on it (paint wise), this is a prime example of how to do it right. The Good
The Bad
Overall Conclusion This is a fun toy. You're able to do a number of poses, with and without the staff, and it just looks great. While the colors may not be too eye-popping, the figure itself (when you observe it more than a glance) is beautifully sculpted. If you're on the fence on picking up some of these villain figures, Sting Rage is one you cannot afford to miss. Grab him! |
While I'm not super keen on the design as a whole, I do enjoy the touches made to make him look great. The shoulders are done well and the sculpting is nicely done. I enjoy that they didn't cut the antennae/horns/hair/whatever short and they drape down his back like they should, and his wings look great.
While I want to complain about the head being restricted, it's hard to hold it against the figure since it's still accurate, and there really wasn't much they could do with the extensions moving from the head down his back and the shoulder pads getting in the way, so I'll let it slide. The only part of articulation I have against the figure is that the head can't move up and down (I only bring it up because some poses pictured seem to have him looking up at an angle, though I guess it could be just the angle of the camera). However, the lack of paint is quite the detriment. While the head only needs a few touch ups to look great, his body is desperately lacking, especially with the box showing off just how amazing he'd look if they painted the details they molded in. |
Ok he looks pretty cool. If I find him I'm going to get him
I gotta give it to Bandai America on this one. They have really not held back much in way of making all of these excellent villain figures! I wish Transformers would take a page from this playbook!
Excellent gallery as usual! Thanks for highlighting all of the details whether they be painted or not. |
I do like the sculpting, but man, that paint job. Ick. At least that's something that's fixable.
Still like the love for villain figures.
The articulation really makes me want this guy, I'm just glad we're getting random monsters in general tbh. Plus the lack of paint is a minor issue that can be easily fixed compared to something like limited articulation.
I'm glad they're bringing over so many cool enemies.
Stingrage looks amazing but I would have to agree that the only con is the lack of pain which could've perfectly completed this figure. Just like with Wrenchs axe, painting Stingrages staff would be looked amazing.
This guy looks like he has a couple eggs on his face.
In Kyoryuger each monster has faces representing either joy, sadness or fury. This is why you the "eggs" on his face.
If only I could find one...
I love this guy's design, and the sculpt is pretty great based on these pictures. It's just a shame the limited paint apps hinder how good the figure actually looks.
I forget which Debo monster this was, but I remember he was one of the extinction trio along with Debo Iceage and, um... whatever the meteor was? I'm always so tempted by these, even despite the paint and the scale being too small for my Kyoryuger Figuarts. That sculpt is just great, and I really liked those designs.
That name is pretty...on the nose. Do names like Stingolor or Rageogon not pay the bills any more?
Neat sculpting and articulated to boot? Bandai of America may be improving and I'm liking this direction since we didn't get jack diddly squat for Kyoryuger villain figures.
Also his eyes look like egg yolks. Pretty funny and cool. |

Have to admit, I'm glad we're seeing more villain love. This toy line certainly has not been disappointing
He's pretty ugly, and I mean that in a good way. If he's repainted in more "natural' colors, like Jungle Green or something, I reckon he could actually be frightening.
I like the look, again I don't recall ever seeing as many villains figures in any previous Power ranger line.
I love the look and I love the fact that finally the toy markers are wising up and giving us a ton of villains. Heck, in most toylines the villains are the best sellers! Why not with Power Rangers?
Dear Zordon, he's nightmarish!
I want him. It's a shame none of the stores I've been to have had him or ABSOLUTELY ANY OF THE VILLAIN FIGURES WHY ARE THEY SO HARD TO FIND?!?!?!? |
Loving the villains. There's so much playability in the Dino Charge toy line. I'm glad to see that there's enough confidence in the Dino Charge franchise to justify such a large toy line with so many villains.
Man I love the look of this guy and I never been fussy bout articulation in my toys cause these style would me as a kid to play with them.
While the sculpting is pretty impressive for the pricepoint somehow the white paint in the head ends up breaking the figure for me, it's not innacurate, it just... distracts me.
None the less, it's pretty great that we are getting so many villain figures for Dino Charge. |
This guy's not my favourite villain, but I'm happy to see Bandai putting all their effort into making such good villain figures. And that spear looks nice.
the lack of paint totally makes up for a nice looking sculpt. i also like the accessory staff.
I like the fact that we're seeing PR villains again in decent numbers. Maybe it's because I didn't pay much attention in the past seasons but Dino Charge seems to be getting quite a few.
I am happy BOA finally decided return villians I mean Ben 10 got all his alexia so most of his villians.
He looks quite cool, and due to the articulation I was considering getting him once he started showing up, but I think I'll pass. I have a few other villains in mind that I'd rather be the main group I own.
Ugh. If only he were blue he'd be perfect.
Frickin' trident, man... |

I don't like this figure as much as Sledge but I will always take a figure of a Ranger baddie! A little bit of paint and this figure will look really great though!
I forgot this guy existed. I personally think he's the weakest of the bunch, because of the extreme lack of paint. No wonder I skipped out on him. At least he has some good articulation.
Never thought Bandai would actually release this many villains.
This monster is terrifying. If he was in a larger scale I'd have purchased him in a heartbeat.
This figure looks wonderful, but I doubt I'll ever come across it at retail. Really wish they'd go back to 4" figures too, but I'm not about to hold my breath.
Love the look but wish the paint was a little bit different
I love the actual look of this figure. Potentially my favorite I've purchased from this line so far.
I like the bright colors of this figure. I wish it had more detail though/ was more screen accurate.
