Legacy Thunder Megazord arrives!
 

I have a friend that works at the Toys R Us in Upland, CA. I texted him earlier asking what legacy items they have in stock at the moment (I'm just getting into the line). He sends me back pics of the tigerzord, legacy morpher, blade blaster and the newest one, the thunder megazord. Rings up at $199.99. He said he would send me the item number and how many they got when he had a chance today.

I know theres almost zero chance of this happening, but the wife and I are driving into the city tomorrow to celebrate my birthday and it'd be more than a little awesome to find this at TRU tomorrow. I'm in the middle of the country though, so not likely.

Item number is 053443. The Southern California Distribution Center shows 280 pieces.

Thank you so much!! whoever posted the item number! i was able to get mine today at a toys r us in los angeles!! Decided to just go for it and signed up for the toys r us credit card so 160 for the megazord doesnt hurt as bad!!

My TRU said if it isn't on their website, they don't have it. -_- They wouldn't even listen to the number I had.

As cool as it does look, it does not scream a $200 for me. While it could be possible to afford, there are other things that I could spend my money on, and quite frankly want more than this. It is a legacy item after all, so after some time it'll shelf warm and go on sale.

I'm just going to wait for this to go on sale cause sure this thing looks good but for me being in Canada this thing is going to cost me a huge chunk of money. I like the set and I'm curious to actually feel the weight of it.

well now i need a hunt down a tigerzord

I just got my thunder megazord in and the tape on the box on both sides been cut and retaped with a second tape over the cut tape. Is this normal?? I want to leave one misb for display. Will buy another later to open up. Curious if this is a return?

It probably is a return. The recent second distribution of the Thunder Mgazord includes remolded thigh plates that largely fix the leaning issue. Since Bandai has been slow to respond to whether or not they'll supply those early adopters with the revised part, people have been exchanging them instead.

On the bottom of the box next to the barcode should be a hard to see number imprinted into the cardboard. If that number ends in a 5, the box is from the 2015 production and will not have the revised parts. If the number ends in a 6, it should be the new one unless the previous owner just put the old toy in the new box.

Looks like I'm going to have to start going to TRU again to find this fixed TMZ and then do a bait and switch.

Reportedly from a Facebook fan group, Bandai is now taking submissions to replace the kneecaps on the Legacy Thunder Megazord by contacting Bandai through these channels.

Wouldn't call it news until someone actually gets a set in the mail. Still, it seems there's a light in that tunnel now.
