She was the receptionist chick in the Raimi Spider-Man series (The one with a crush on Peter) and the girl JD knocked up in Scrubs.
According to Wikipedia, she was also in Hunger Games, but I don't know the character since I don't really pay attention to that movie series.

So Wyldstyle is playing Rita Repulsa?... Cool. :)

Also, completely unrelated I know, but I found out they're making a third Pitch Perfect because of this. :lol

Yeah, it's weird: I had never heard of her before her guest stint on Scrubs, but then she was freaking everywhere.

I'm honestly surprised to see a pretty big name like her attached to this project. Bit interested to see where this goes now.

Yeah I wasn't expecting either. I guess the logic was they needed to attach a big name somewhere and Rita was the way to go with it.

I approve of this casting. Nowhere does it say Rita needs to be Japanese, as so many on Facebook seem to be lamenting...she's an alien, after all.

Trini's the one I expected everyone to be bitching about because she's actually Asian in the show.

Yup. Having a bigger name actor in the movie helps getting audiences interested who wouldnt have paid attention to the movie otherwise.

And I'm just sitting here laughing at the Social Justice brigade whining about a white woman being cast. This is fucking hilarious to me.

Huh. Guess this is where they're spending the casting money :) I only know her from Scrubs, but she was good in that, I guess.
