Rangers You Wish Existed
 

This is a tricky one, because it could come from Sentai or PR. Nevertheless...

What rangers do you wish had been created? As an example or three (or four? five?), I'll give my top picks.

-Mighty Morphin Season 1, White Ranger
They were simple times. Every ranger had one zord, and every zord had its ranger. Except Titanus.
I tweaked a fan theory on that here.


-in Space, Purple Ranger (and...another one or two?)
Back before I knew what was coming, I thought Karone was looking to become the purple ranger. She had her own purple Astro Megaship uniform, for goodness sake!

The simplicity of the in Space suits offer only a few points of differentiation. The colored rectangles on the chest would probably need to be changed for any additional rangers. Easy enough. There's the random holograms in the top of the head that could be ignored in Power Rangers. That only leaves the visors. Surely, I wasn't the only one paying attention to those? If you didn't notice...

The visors were only different in the ends. Red & blue were opposites, angling in and angling out. Yellow & silver were opposite, pointing out and pointing in. Black & pink...had no counterparts. Pink curves out. Purple could curve in. Done. (If you need a third, straight up and down would do!)

Also, I really, really wanted a purple ranger. An orange ranger, too. That leads me to my final example.


-RPM, Orange Ranger
After witnessing three American-made rangers the season before, it was especially disappointing not to get an orange ranger. All zords were numbered, and 1-8 all had rangers attached. Except 6. Which was orange.
The perfect opportunity to fulfill my wish of an honest to goodness, awesome orange ranger was right there.

This would have made him the 6th ranger, so he could easily be a in separate cockpit or anything else to keep the Japanese cockpit footage. We were also dealing with a super smart mentor who could've created this ranger as an android. That would only necessitate a voice actor. If need be, the android could only be active in battle, so you're never dealing with an extra character running around. Hey, I think that's preferable to SPD's Sam.

Now, maybe you're saying, "Wait, an android? After the whole Venjix thing?" Maybe the angle is Dr. K created him out of necessity and/or some desire to prove herself. This leads to more storyline material.

I like these ideas. I had a friend years ago who went by the name "MegaSilver335" on AOL. His girlfriend went by "MegaPurple335". They played as Zane and Karone. As for the Orange RPM, an android would have been interesting, but a bit awkward for the rangers themselves to deal with, there would have been a major trust issue. Honestly I think it should've been a place for Dr. K. She wouldn't do it all the time, but kind of like Kat from SPD. Only once in a while.

Did they do anything for Karone as an in Space ranger?

Trust issues make me think an android may be an even better idea to add more story. At least for an episode or two until he has the perfect opportunity to take them out but saves the day, instead? I don't know, it's hard with a 32-episode season that I think could've filled out a lot more.

Would've loved to have had Dr. K as a ranger. I don't see her character being the unmorphed fight scene-type, but perhaps a compromise: Ranger Operator Series Orange would be robotic, but without AI. She would, somehow, control the suit remotely from the base.

Pfft. Who needs that when you get to have a pink robot cat for a pet and make flowers bloom on command. :lolol

-Megaforce, Green Ranger

Such a missed opportunity. Megaforce already had a lot of parallels to Mighty Morphin' with the characters and suit designs, so why not make the plot parallel Mighty Morphin' as well? It could even have explained why there was only one sea Ranger: There was a second sea Ranger, but his powers were stolen by the villains!

Maybe he turns good at the last second and sacrifices his powers to defeat the villains, then he comes back in Super Megaforce as the Silver Ranger!

Or if you don't want to make it parallel Mighty Morphin' too much, you could have had him stay evil, or otherwise refuse to join the Rangers.

Umm how about one ranger per Wild Zord XD could have been insane

Yeah, definitely too much of a good thing, I think--but they could've gotten away with having more.

That's a good one, bringing Gosei Green to life and taking advantage of the Mighty Morphin throwbacks. I certainly don't see Power Rangers ever leaving a human ranger evil, though.

Dino Charge Talon Ranger.

Sounds like it was briefly planned and scrapped. If he shows up it may be for a single episode but I doubt he'll be there at all. Having an evil Ranger, or having Snide/Sledge/Singe/Fury/Whomever make their own Energem to fight the Rangers would have been a fun story line and allowed a good "Green with Evil" throwback.

Wait, the Talon Ranger's not happening anymore?!

That's what I was gonna say! I hope we do get talon ranger--and hopefully Deathryuger-style, not Kyoryu Navy.

Wasn't there a video showing off a hacked Dino Charge Morpher that had one sound saying "Power Ranger Talon"? Bandai and Saban can't back out now.

Some of us were hoping for KyoryuNavy to be adapted. :( You know, maybe if Talon Ranger gets split into two, one remaining as Talon (evil), while the other is Navy (good). Just a thought.

They can. Just add it to all the Kamen Rider forms that get planned and then never used...

That'd be a whole lot better than an identical clone, like the White Dino(Thunder) Ranger. There's even a bigger distinction between the two than the Red Time Force Ranger and the Quantum Ranger.

Could definitely have it as an alternate form, too. Start with navy, then go crazy!

Strictly speaking in terms of Power Rangers, I wish we had Go-Busters adapted. Apart from that, though, I wish there were versions of the green and black suits with the proper "Tokumei" glasses.

There was also a Merry Christmas sound too, right? Somethings just don't make it in the show or the toylike. Happens all the time.

My own fanwacky idea had involved Time Force HQ being built on the ruins of the command center/power chamber. TF sends someone below to gather all the powers of existing rangers to take back in time for the Legendary Battle(keep in mind all this was in my mind before we got SMF but after seeing images from Gokaiger). He then travels through time to gather them up(therefore all rangers being aproximate in age) He notices that RPM is missing a morpher, and recreates it, creating Ranger 6 Orange. When abducting the RPM rangers, he also abducts Tenaya assuming she was Ranger 6 due to her proximity to the other Rangers after the events of RPM. This balances the # of females a bit more.

A Unity Ranger would be cool. Zyuoh TheWorld is a step in the right direction. But it would be neat if there was a ranger that could absorb all the others powers for a temporary "rainbow unity" final strike. Thinking something similar to Ryu's ultimate armor in Ronin Warriors. The weapon combinations flirt with the idea frequently...but I've yet to see something like this completely fleshed out and the idea of one of the Rangers becoming a Unity Ranger REALLY explored.

Another American created ranger. Like titanium ranger, he is the only one off the top of my head that is a American made ranger. I want a ranger where it's like all his scenes have to be original footage because he isn't in the sentai

Spirit Rangers from Jungle Fury were American made.

Don't forget about the A-squad rangers, might be evil, but they were still rangers.

It always made me mad that we didn't get a Jared and Camille as Rangers in the final episode of Jungle Fury.

Personally, I feel that Jungle Fury should have had no morphers and went with the idea that morphing was a technique they had to learn (thus why they needed to find RJ... he is the only master left to know the ancient secret). It would be about intuning your body to the energies of the world (the morphing grid) that allowed you to morph. That would get rid of the sunglasses and fit the theme better. Then, in the finale, Jared and Camille could have morphed as well. They spent the money on the Spirit Rangers, your telling me they couldn't have repurposed two helmets and some spare costumes to make a Black Ranger and a Green Ranger (giving us our first female green, by the way)?

Maybe another evil ranger team like the psycho rangers but the sentai version where they had human forms too. I have an idea for a team with the power to corrupt and turn the rangers' weapon into evil demonic version. Even making evil monster like clones of their zords to use against them.

Power Rangers Express. Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink, and Orange. In their Express Zords fighting the Darkness Empire forming the Rail Express Megazord. That's what I want. .... Yup.

More Wild Force rangers, really.
A hundred power animals, but they give all their powers to 6 people? It never made sense to me as a kid. It would've been neat to have like, a Falcon ranger, a Giraffe ranger, etc.
I also kind of wished that Animus's human avatar was a ranger, rather than a kid.

I also kind of wanted a female Thunder Storm Ranger. No, Tentoraiger doesn't count.

Gokai Pink became the Navy Thunder Storm Ranger so there was a female one

That's not what I meant.
I liked the idea of the Thunder Rangers being rivals to the Wind Rangers, but it just felt odd that it was 2 of them vs. 3 Wind Rangers. I would've liked to have a 3rd, female, Thunder Ranger.

It was probably hard to find a woman to be a bug ranger
