S.H. Figuarts celebrates Ultraman's 50th anniversary with the following in July:

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman - 5,200 yen
Option Act Building Sets - 2,700 yen each (standard and damaged versions)
Ultraman 50th Anniversary Set - 8,000 yen (Figure, special colour building set and Baltan spacecraft)

I will be picking this up. I guess I can sell my Ultra Act Ultraman 2.0 soon.

Kinda hoped we would get Zetton first instead of Baltan, but it's a Kaiju, so I want it.

I'm still thinking about what I should buy. I do need Ultraman and at least one version of the Option Act Building, but I don’t know if I prefer the colored version in the set or the grey version which is sold separately.

If the set is meant for one figure I might have to buy two grey versions to have Ultraman and Baltan duke it out on those sets. The do seem to be interchangeable and compatible with one another though... so maybe I get a normal and a damaged version and mix & match me a bigger set.

But Ultraman himself and Baltan are must haves. Sucks that Baltan is an August release, that means Ultraman and the building set(s) will have to sit in my private warehouse for a month.

If they still hesitant about releasing Kaiju cause of the various body types they have and are going with Seijins, I'm down. Might mean I could finally get an articulated Dada.

For sure want those building sets. I think the only turn off would be the SHFA scale of the figures themselves. I love that the UAs were always so massive. I'd hate for Baltan to be shorter than my already existing UAs, Ultras and Kaiju.

Eh. If these have to happen first before Ultra-Act re-starts, fine. At least they're throwing in goodies like the building sets. I'll get those at least, and probably Baltan since the previous U-A version is quite expensive at this point.

As interesting as this sounds, I have the 2.0 Ultra-Act, I don't really know that I need the figuart. The buildings are a nice touch but ultimately one I don't care about all that much. Baltan is welcome though. I never shelled out for the original release.

It's difficult to say if Ultra Act will even be continuing. If these sell well, Tamashii could just merge the lines. They've done it before.

This Baltan is a different version, so I might still track down the UA myself. And knowing me, I'm saying I won't get this SHFA Ultraman, but I probably will. I'm sure a whore for Ultraman stuff. Wouldn't be shocked if an Ultraseven got made into a SHFA as well.

Ultraseven, Taro, Zoffy and Ace all have prototypes.

I do kinda wish that Baltan would be a SHMA figure since I have a feeling that he will be too small when scaling up to the Godzilla SHMA figures.

I'm fine if that happens, as long as these don't shrink in size compared to Ultra-Acts. If there is a size difference, and if any future Ultra bodies that don't have Ultra-Acts yet show up in SHF with a smaller stature...that'll be an unpleasant decision to make for me.

I agree. We've yet to get some of the newer Ultras, like Victory and X. I say merge the line, but keep the UA scale strictly for the Ultraman franchise. Guess we have to wait and see what happens.

I need to see which is better between the Ultra-Act and Figuarts one. I definitely want and need a good figure of the original UltraMan.

They look good, but I'd be more interested in them if Ultra-Act didn't exist. Maybe I'll buy Baltan.

I wonder why these aren't branded "Ultra-Act x SH Figuarts" like the Manga guys.

Is probably due to that the last releases of the "Ultra-Act" line were exclusives, nevertheless I hope somehow they give continuity to that great line.

For me these new figures are very tempting...


I don't like the joints in the groin area (comparing them with their predecessors) but everything else looks pretty good.

so the first things that come to mind seeing the buildings...Kamen Rider J figuart? That and some great staging for my SRCs...

I like the upcoming Ultraman figuart better than the Ultra Act 2.0 version. Looks more faithful to the suit and does have that muscular body look to it.
