Atop the 4th Wall Looks At Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
Creator of "History of Power Rangers" takes a look at the other side of the pond.

Huh, cool.
I figured he'd like it, since Gokai's tributes don't require a vast amount of knowledge of the original. |
Hilarious.

Plus it didn't put so much effort into being lazy. Anyway this was fun and if love to see him do this for both Carranger, Boukenger, Shinkenger and Goseiger (hell, even Go-Onger because of what a complete tone shift it was during adaptation). |
I really enjoyed this episode it was great to see his reaction to the Dump Truck in the first episode.
|
I haven't watch a Linkara video in over two or three years. Overall a decent episode.
|
He should do Go-Busters and ToQger next.
|
I'm glad he enjoyed it. ^^
|
It would be cool if Linkara review a the first five episodes of a Kamen Rider and Ultraman show.
|
Um. So. I tried to watch this but... I detest this guy's affect. He's utterly repellent to watch.

No idea who this person is, but the video was kind of cringeworthy... Ehhh... Maybe it just wasn't for me. At the very least, his pronunciations are terrible.
|
Linkara and other people on the CA review in a similar style. I don't care fore Linkara that much neither. I will only watch a video of his if he is reviewing something that I will find interesting.
|
The only Channel Awesome producer I actually follow is Bennett the Sage.
Linkara has never really bothered me in terms of review style, since I enjoy seeing the stupidity in comics that hasn't been covered by Superdickery. Really, I stopped bothering with him when his reviews starting pushing 40 minutes and it was 10 minutes of a stupid comic and 30 minutes of some kind of Star Trek-Power Rangers-Doctor Who live action fanfiction, except replace the Doctor, the Green Ranger, and Kirk with Linkara. |
I tend to watch Snob and Sage these days. I stop caring about the NC over a year ago. I did like his recent review of Spawn, but his Episode 7 review was awful to sit through. I do agree that Linkara videos are way too long. That's why I don't care for his stuff that much.

At this point, the only CA contributor I never skip a video from is Todd. |
Is Todd still doing videos? I haven't seen him post one in like 6 months.
|
Funnily enough, it's his videos in reviewing Star Trek material is what got me to watch a very good chunk of the shows and movies. I also enjoy a lot of the storyline stuff in his videos just as much as his review stuff. Hell, he is one of only internet reviewers that I watch of anymore.

He made an example about different people (well, 2 of his friends) watching a short video of "Tokyo Godfathers" with subs, to explain why he almost never watch/review subbed stuff: reading stuff and following story is too complicated ! Honestly, that just a question of habit. On Linkara subject, I'm glad he made the History of PR serie. I'm kind of curious about the PR shows, but I'm not really interested in watching them. |
Wow, didn't know so many people felt so snippy about Linkara. I like his videos, but he does seem rather prickly.
|
A lot of people have mixed feelings on Linkara. I see a lot of people on /co/ that hate him. People like Asalieri2 and The Archfiend called him out for E-begging when he made a video about ad block.

Super Sentai is all about fun, colour, cool suit work, people in giant robot costumes wailing on each other and, perhaps most importantly, the sense that, whatever the odds, good will eventually overcome evil.
I feel like this guy not only doesn't get that, but spends 25mins inadvertantly sucking all the magic out of something that should be sheer, multicoloured fun. (I have to confess that I gave up with 10mins to go, so maybe he turns it all around!) |
How would he not get that considering he has a side project that is literally just him watching every Power Rangers season?
I think he just focused too much on trying to be funny so those who aren't into Sentai or even know about it will still have something entertaining to watch? |

Also as a way to break up all the Japanese that most of his audience wouldn't understand despite subtitles because even with subtitles I get bored because marathoning toku or subbed anime just because I can't understand Japanese. |

I can understand not liking it, don't get me wrong. A lot of Linkara's reviews bore me to death. Here, it just feels like you didn't understand what you were getting into, is all. If you want to see him in a more informative light, check out his History of Power Rangers series, where he gives an overview and (Sometimes long winded) review of every season/series of Power Rangers (Up to Super Megaforce). He tones down the humor some to talk about key plot points and noteworthy episodes. |
It's a fuckin' review for fun, dude.

Not all reviewers are made to be funny. People like to review things seriously. That's why I like people like Emer Prevost aka Hellsing920 with his review "Reaction and Review".

Any reviewer could be seen as a pompous jerk if their reviews on movies you like were negative. It doesn't make them somehow wrong just because you disagree with their thoughts. I think Edward Scissorhands was a piece of shit. I'm not calling people who praise it poor critics or that they have bad taste, for example. |
