Kamen Rider Ghost Episode 22- "Schemes! Adel's Trap" Discussion
Takeru is lost in the Ganma World. Does he stand a chance without the powers of his Heroic Eyecons?
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Whoa. Lots of crazy twists in this episode; seems like a real game changer. Can't wait for subs.
|
Okay I saw the RAW... I have no idea what exactly happened, but... was this their way of nerfing Necrom? It kind of seemed like it.
|
Hmm....Ganma Emperor easly eliminated by Adel....remind me to Ryoma Sengoku's plan to eleminate Takatora....yeah it seems Adel equal to Ryoma Sengoku....
Specter and Ghost against Adel (Ganma Ultima) is really interesting to watch. Finally, Specter Tutankhamun Damashii use his black hole finisher again (this finisher last used in episode 5 when Specter Tutankhamun Damashii's black hole absorb Machine Gun Ganma) to absorb Adel but Adel too strong so he cannot defeated by Tutankhamun black hole.... Hmm....Takeru steal Eyecon Driver G from Iddith's laboratory and Takeru also obtain his Heroic Ghost Eyecons again.... Sennin is back....I am more prefer Sennin is not Iddith.... Ghost Toucon Boost Damashii fight to defeat Katchu Ganma is really good in my opinion... Jabel is back and it seems in the next episode, Jabel become Ganma Ultima when he battle against Ghost Grateful Damashii... |
Takeru enters his righteous rage mode of being a hero. Beautiful to see.

Ok, I really think Adel should have killed Adonis at the end of the last episode as a cliffhanger because here it just felt like it happened pretty anticlimatically and sudden.
Beyond that one complaint, wow there was a lot going on in this episode. Lots of revelations. I didn't catch 100% of the dialogue, but I think it was finally revealed that it was Adel who turned Makoto into Specter. Plus incubators and shit. Maaaaan. Anyway, loved it. Haven't enjoyed Ghost this much in a while. It was just as intense as I expected, and the next episode looks to be just as strong. Hope they keep this momentum going. I wish Katchu could have stuck around, but oh well. I hope she comes back. Still kinda hoping Takeru eventually brefriends a bunch of Ganma somehow, really. I really liked the last scene, especially. Takeru just meditating trying to figure out what's going on but obviously just completely freaked out by what he witnessed--I'm pretty goddamn freaked out by it myself, so I think the whole thing worked well. The preview seems to be implying that Makoto is going to die protecting Alain, maybe? I doubt it a lot, but if he does...it's sure gonna be a thing. Guessing, in the event that it happens, either a)Alain takes over as Specter and he's gonna be Deep. b)Some sort of resurrection arc happens, possibly related to Deep Connect, prompting Deep. c)They just bring him back with the Eyecons (Fukami resurrection redux)? I think scenario a would be pretty interesting, but Necrom... Oh yeah, I like how there were two Superiors and, intentional or not, they differentiated them by one having a more opaque visor. I call them Foggy and Clear Eyes. |

As for the episode itself, it's just good. No one being useless (except Kanon is drawing, right?). I really like how the producer shot the fight between Takeru and the Knight Ganma at the end, it looks really cinematic. Hopefully next week will be proper debut of Grateful, since Type Formula in Drive had a similar tease as well but only appeared for like 5 seconds. |
Subs have been out for a bit now, I recommend all go grab them because damn, this ep...
I shared my thoughts on it before, they have not changed. Though I think I may have misconstrued Makoto's statement about Adel turning him into a soldier. Watching it again there's nothing about it really that indicates that means he gave him his Driver. They've been revealing a lot lately, hope they clarify everything soon. Why Makoto got taken out of his body, why Kanon was an Eyecon, why Makoto is a Rider, what was Ryu trying to stop...still a lot we don't know. |
That was some Gaim-level stuff right there.
|
Yep, now that Alain is back into his actual body it looks like Necrom's getting a nerf in terms of power.
Oh and hey Jabel/Javel is back, and it looks like next episode Grateful Debut's. Yeah poor Jabel, portrayed as this powerful and badass Ganma Superior in his debut episodes. Then he get's beaten by Boost, then Houdini, and now it's going to be Grateful. Like my literal reaction to them showing he was still around was, "Oh hey your back, just in time for Grateful too." I cannot take him serious anymore, I just can't. |

Best episode of the series so far. Lots of major plot developments and finally some information on how the Ganma World works - not a lot, obviously, but enough to start connecting some dots. I will agree that the Emperor's assassination was incredibly abrupt, but everything that followed was really good. Even the comic relief - everyone sitting around and waiting for Takeru to get back so they could have the weekly monster fight - was enjoyable (I'm loving Cubi). Hopefully this is just the start and the show keeps up this level of quality from here on out.

Why Alain was destroyed by Adel but he somehow resurrected with a REAL human body?! Let me take the guess Alain while he start out as a villain, he has a good side than Adel Adel is the worst brother ever. He is worse than Alain Alia is the most kindest Royal Ganma who doesn't hate humanity |
My guess is that all of the royal family have real bodies somewhere - hell, probably all of the major Ganma do. The big question is why the hell are they keeping them in boxes while floating around as Eyecons in humanoid shells?

Think of Ankh possessed Hina's brother so her brother won't be dead! |

I think that first body we saw disintegrate was the Emperor's body.

Damn. Crap went down, this ep. o.o
Not surprised that Alain's potentially joining Team Good after being framed, and I'm excited to see where that goes. The assassination (and Alain getting attacked) all felt a bit rushed out, though. Plenty of plot development with the Ganma World and how the Ganma work as well, which is great (and surprisingly dark, poor Takeru :c). Looks like Grateful's debuting next episode. :D I wish Katchu hadn't died. I want Takeru to have more Ganma buddies. :( |
Alain has the ability to one-shot . . . pretty much anyone?
I wish they were clearer on how the Ganma world worked, there was ALOT of vagueness early on, and we're getting this very abrupt info dump that vastly expands the "Ghost" universe. Thinking a back to Gaim, there were huge shifts, but I felt they were more "earned", and better sewn together. I did enjoy the episode though. |
Does anyone know anything about the Ganma's real body and their eyecon spirit form? I'm really confused on what's going on. Also, it seems like Alain might join the heroes.
|
A lot went down in this episode and laid the groundwork for what is yet to come. The Eyecon Driver G, Javel probably getting an Ultima Eyecon, Adel's regicide-patricide and Alan's flight from his home. Interesting and satisfying.
I still want to know what the Heroic Eyecons are. Everyone talks about the true power Heroic Eyecons being a mystery but I just wish they would explain. By the way, Spectre tells Alia that Kanon wouldn't have been able to come back to life if it wasn't for her (Alia). Am I the only one who gets the vibe that Takeru talks to her to get Kanon back when Saionji gathered all 15 Eyecons way back in episode 11? |
