Worst secondary riders? (re-do)
 

This is a re-do. This time I added Kaixa for people's pleasure!

Funny thing in most Rider shows I tend to prefer the secondary Riders over the main ones because they tend to be more complex and fleshed out characters*Ixa,Accel and Gills* or much more pleasant personality wise*Alt!Kuuga and Gatack* compared to the main Rider.

In my experience shows with terrible secondary Riders have terrible main Riders too*cough*Faiz*cough*.

But I'd have to say Kivala is the worst for being an ultimately worthless plot device.

From the list? Mage. Literally no reason for any of them.

There is one...

That they overcame their despair and had the right to become mages? That's all well and good but they barely really did much afterwards other than be attacked or captured and they were lazy with the Mage suits. Mage felt more like a shoe-horned in excuse for a third rider than anything else. Mayu and the others could have been trained as mages without the suits even.

The Faiz secondary riders all kind of suck. I mean I enjoyed Kusaka but seriously Yuuji or Kaidou needed to become the next Delta or even Mari but whoever was Delta I barely remember. Faiz had great support characters but some of the weakest other riders ever.

I was going to vote for Beast again, but I'm not going to now since I'd also be voting for Mayu and Mayu is awesome.

I guess, it's the closest thing they got anyway. Apart from the rings, which were all part of exclusive sets that came out long after the show finished.

Nope, and even if it did it would have come out long after the show's end.

The entire point was never for them to be heroes or even all that trained; Fueki needed four Mages to power his big magical ritual at the end of the series. He didn't want them to be that strong so they wouldn't be able to resist him or, worst case scenario, start creating their own powers like Haruto did with Infinity. They were never meant to be running around with Wizard and Beast, they were meant to just get powerful enough that Fueki could steal their magic.

As for why the suits were just lazy reuses from the movie, it's because they showed up so late in the show that there probably wasn't enough budget to design and build three more unique Rider suits. We're probably lucky that Todoroki and the kid got different colored helmets.

Too bad there should've more mages to join Wizard. Beast however a disappointment. He should've gained Phoenix's immortality to increase his power in order to gain a new powerful form instead of that "Hyper". That way Phoenix would be defeated by Wizard and Beast can absorb him without hurling him into the sun.

Mayu? She should've become a "Witch" for a female rider instead of a mage.

I was going to vote for Beast again and again .. LOL

Have to say Beast, as a whole, he's filler alongside the Mages

All this hate for Beast, and he's one of my favourite Riders, in general. Huh.
I went for Diend in the end. He's just an ass, except for the episodes focusing on his world (and maybe Hibiki), but then he goes back to being an ass.

My problem with Beast is that he doesn't really do anything interesting other than stopping the Sabath. The way he gets Hyper is near identical for Wizard, and Beast's general design motive is a lion, which was already done recently by LaToraTah Combo. Diend at least has something unique going for him, summoning Riders and is a thief

I like Nitou well enough as a character, but functionally he has one of the worst win/lose ratios of any Rider ever.

I'm actually going to go with Hayato Ichimonji, Kamen Rider 2 here, simply because he's much less interesting than Takeshi Hongo. Now, I'm aware that Fujiosha hurt his leg and was unable to film, so they needed a new lead character. Ichimonji isn't bad, but since he completely replaced Hongo for a good portion of the series, I couldn't help but be disappointed and eventually fell off the series because of it.

Specter for me. His character feels like nothing to me.

Mage. They had no reason for being created other than oh look more fucking riders. Now beast was okay but they could've made him less annoying.

I'm not going to say I totally agree here, but it really was a major shift. Hongo was just way more intense.

I'll put Specter & Necrom on the poll after Ghost is over.

Honestly, why wait? There's only a handful of episodes left, and we've had these characters since over 30 episodes ago. People have enough to decide their opinions

They are literally integral to Fueki's plan and the show's ending.

I like Specter and Necrom. But I don't like the other Necroms (minus Alia), Dark Ghost & Zero Specter.

Dark Ghost could've instead possessed the power of 15 villain eyecons.

Too much for the budget if he's only going to appear in 1 movie
But other than that, the Mages don't do anything important. Otherwise Beast was incredibly important because he stopped said Sabbath

Beast was the worst choice. They should've added a "Vergil" in Wizard! And Mayu as Mage was a bad choice. they should've made her into a "witch" like Bayonetta.

The whole point was that Fueki DIDN'T want another powerful Rider he couldn't control though...

As Zeo said, Fueki thought Haruto's increased strength was problematic. Not to mention Bayonetta's kinda hard to do in something live action. Have you TRIED doing those flips in her heels? :p
How would you 'Vergil' Rider have worked? Beast was a bad Rider, but in terms of lore, he was surprisingly interesting. Being ancient magic and the Chimera

I like Beast because he was not the typical anti hero rider that was trying to be badass and edgy. I like that he was still a nice guy and was still pretty friendly to other people. The reason why I can't stand Specter because I think the typical anti hero secondary rider is getting old. I know kids like anti hero rival characters (seeing how popular they are in Shonen anime), but I'm getting sick of it.

I won't consider something important if it literally only means 1 thing in the entire show which gets undone shortly after

I'm not going to argue that 66% of the Mages don't suck (I will literally fight you over Mayu), but just because they were mostly terrible characters with awful costumes doesn't mean they didn't play an important role in Wizard's finale.

Well honestly Decade was an ass himself and Diend was at-least entertaining .
