I like them a lot. I'm surprised they didn't stray too far from the original colors of the suit, since they're mostly each ranger's color plus some silver details replacing the white. Also looks like each helmet will still be designed with their zords in mind, since Red's is very t-rex-inspired. The others are harder to make out, but I'm sure it's a uniformed choice.
Plus they're actually colorful. I was expecting them to be a lot more muted and darker. |
I get a Lord Zedd vibe..

Guess the "like 2014 Robocop" comparison was fairly accurate.
User on another board also pointed this out. Coincidence?? |
I like them. I have been thinking for months now when ever i saw the suits i was going to hate them. But they work for me. I like this.
|
To me they look like a mix between Iron Man and the Pacific Rim suits. Really glad the colors look vibrant enough though.
Really I think the only thing I would have done differently is give them a belt to break up the armor. |
Hate the designs. This whole idea of making them look all techy and stuff doesn't work. Too much like Iron Man suits.
|
These look like Power Rangers if they were in SIC....eh, dunno how I feel about them to be perfectly honest.
|
The helmets look atrocious to me. They're either too bulbous or too conehead like. As for the rest of the suits, meh. They look like generic suits.
|
It's like Kamen Rider ZO and Cortana had five kids.
But this is only a piece so I will save final judgement after the Megazord debuts. |
I really actually like them, the helmets might be a bit too vague on some of them but overall it feels like a pretty good evolution of the design. The quote is also making me really curious as to what the morphing sequence will look like. Also it feels like they kept the pattern/colour of the original morphing background from the 93 show for the center of the buckle on the suits.
|
I said it over at the other topic already, but I love how they even went with a glowing diamond on the chest armor just in case you can’t already identify these designs as Iron Man knockoffs.
And these are not really good knockoffs either; they’re hideous, way too fancy and technologically looking for a Power Ranger suit. Less would’ve been more here IMO. |
I like them a lot. Unless you're Spider-Man it seems going straight spandex is considered a bad move these days so this is a nice compromise. Lots of colour and a techno-organic look works for me given the techno-organic basis of the powers.
Comparing them to the reboot robocop doesn't really paint them unfavourably IMO - the black suit in that film looked fine about from the naked hand, it was only people's nostalgia to the original that caused a problem. They could perhaps do without the chest glow, but with the weird off-placement on them all I can't tell if its genuinely a glow or supposed to be a reflection. Something DOES look off about the helmets, but the picture isn't the best so I'll withhold judgement on that right now. |
They feel too much like an Iron man suit to me, rather than something a ranger would wear.
I know the skin tight suits from the show would be seen as "ridiculous" for a movie, but Spider-man's gotten away with having low-tech looking suits, and even Falcon in the Cap movies comes away with something that feels like a costume he'd wear. I guess is they were just 25% less armor looking I'd be okay with it, but I don't flat out hate the suits. |
I like them. Chances are, the chest pieces are the only bits that will be real. The rest will be CGI...otherwise, I can't imagine trying to do kung fu in those if they were real latex.
But Rita's costume is real...so maybe they've found a way... |
The only part I'm getting an Iron Man vibe is from the smaller diamond and the Red Rangers colors but then again he's the red ranger and Iron Man has a crap ton of suits so at some point your gonna get some color overlap.
Looking at the Armor I see it more as less bulky Commander Shepard armor type from Mass Effect then a full metal Iron Man suit. Also considering the quote about the suit growing I even got a bit of a wonder if they got some inspiration from the current blue beetle suit which comes from the scarab. |

"You can’t win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans."
This right here is why I think this movie is going to bomb. Power Rangers' target audience of 7 year olds and the existing fanbase is about all they've got. I highly doubt this movie is going to rake in the MCU/DCEU crowd. I really don't like the design work going into the movie right now. The suits are so generic "mature sci-fi" it hurts. They look like every edgy teenager's drawing of a gritty reboot of Power Rangers that I've ever seen. I can't say I'm not curious to see the Megazord, but my hopes for it being any good have kind of been dashed after these last few reveals. |

So instead of belts they now have glowing belly buttons. Okay.
|
I can appreciate what they're trying to do with these suits, but i'm not into it.
|
Hahahahahaha...
No. |
I think they must have been watching the Green Lantern movie when they designed these new suits as they're really giving me that movie's suit vibes.
I don't HATE them, but like a lot of things with Hollywood lately, it's a bit TOO much. I think if they had maybe done something more like the 1995 movie's armored suits, it would at least look a bit less...like every other sci-fi action hero suit. |
The suits look good, imho. Nothing spectacular, but I like them. I get the comparison to Robocop, but I'm not seeing anything similar to Iron Man here. They do very much remind me of the MMPR movie suits, and for me that helps.
Also, there are elements here that look just like Rita's, which pretty much confirms, imho, that she used to be the Green Ranger and her outfit is a battle damaged power suit. Should be interesting to see how they look in action, and to see how they handle the morphing into the suits. Definitely looks like the morpher is a part of the suit, so that's a nice touch. Can't wait to see Bandai's toy line for the movie. Actually had a dream about it the other night. Was exciting, but still typical BoA stuff, lol |

Getting an Iron Man-ish Deviant art concept art vibe from these. I dig most of the helmets though. Yellows helmet kind of reminds me of Gosei Yellow/Gosei Pinks helmet. I'm guessing the zords will look like more futuristic with metallic and chrome finish like the ones from the MMPR movie. I'm guessing they want to win the marvel/dc fans with this. Can't wait to see the zords.
|
The suit look alright at least it's more colorful than any movie that try to be Christopher Nolan's film like The Dark Knight
No one cannot copy The Dark Knight. Amen brother! |
I remain optimistic about the film and the suit designs help the excitement build. They're not perfect at all, but it's a change that doesn't go TOO over the top.
So I'm fine with these. Looking forward to seeing how Rita ties into the green ranger story. |
I personally kinda dig the suits. They do remind me a bit of the 1995 movie's armored suits with a mix of Iron Man. I think the suits will grown on me over time. I was personally expecting a similar type of suit designs for the movie than the pain old Zyuranger/MMPR suit designs.
|
I don't mind them. They're ok. I've really only got two things I'm not really fond of. I don't really care much for the swirly white bits. Particularly through the boots and gloves. I also wish there was a belt. Having the morpher integrated into the mid section looks weird.
|
Dammit. Why can't they just make an updated version of the MMPR movie suits? This one is too edgy, and honestly Yellow and Pink looked like they share the same helmet design.
|
They look alright, but a few things bug me. Little things, but still things. The lack of a betl, glowing chest, and overall design does make me feel like Tony Stark designed the suits. Also is it just me, or is the only helmet showing a dino Red's? The others just look like regular trooper helmets.

Honestly I kinda like them.
|
Not a fan. I feel they're overdesigned. Too many little things that just rub me the wrong way that makes the big picture, the final product, just not look that good.
|
There is absolutely nothing surprising about these suits. They look exactly like the first movie's costumes filtered through an Iron Man lens, and that's exactly what I was expecting.
I give them a hearty "meh." (Except for the helmets, the proportions of which I detest.) I guess it's interesting that they appear to be hollow? The chest-windows seem to indicate that they're made of energy inside those suits, not flesh and blood. :lol Also, are their zords still going to be dinosaurs? Cause... only Red's helmet looks dino-ish. Everyone else's look more like weird angular alien beasts than dinosaurs/extinct giant mammals. |

Also unrelated one of the things I'm most thankful for is that they kept the mouth part of the helmet intact. My biggest fear was that they were going eliminate that part of the helmet sculpt. |
