I'm amazed that Type Asshole doesn't come with much, for the price they want shouldn't he come with more?

Lack of accessories is disappointing though. They could have thrown in the stolen weapons or something. Weird that he's so pricey considering it's just a Type Speed recolor.

It's so pretty. I expect this will go right up there with Abyss and Gaim Kachidoki as one of my favorite suites to own in toy form.

Ha! Yeah that's totally it, I didn’t realize it at first but it makes sense.

I don’t know, maybe Banno is crazy popular over there... but having Gold Drive as a retail release but not Necrom or even SS Gatack is really weird. It’s also equally weird how this comes out before the final form of the damn protagonist of the show which is still not released.

The only thing I can come up with why so many "popular" characters or ones that would’ve been retail release aren't is that maybe they want to have some room for the upcoming Rider 1 and the rumored Amazons among the rest of the Ghost stuff. I mean that still doesn’t explain why Gold Drive is a retail release, but maybe they think Gold Drive will sell better than Necrom or Gatack.

Is anyone else more confused why they're doing it as a retail release a full year after the show has ended? The fact that it's retail is strange, granted, but more confusing is the timeframe- that's the part that bugs me.

If I remember right years ago I heard that villains do not sell well in japan so that is why villain toys are usually premium, this even affected Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds with changing one of the main characters who was going to turn out to be the leader of the villains because his deck sold well

I mean they like Onari. Compare that to Banno: One is a merciless machine who stops at nothing to play his disgusting, merciless games with his surroundings, the other one is a crazy Professor.

Absurdly, I have gotten used to the yellow they use in Storm Heroes and now the gold looks weird to me. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to grab this one or not.

And I thought retail Abyss and Kivala were surprising :lol. In any case, Banno being retail isn't a bad thing in my book. It shows that Bandai might be willing to release more recently ended Rider show while the new show is still ongoing.

... Huh. Weird. Interesting choice, but I kinda wish we were getting Type Tridoron instead. When are we going to get that? Still, of all character to get as a normal retail, it's Gold Drive. I wonder if this means we should be on our toes about what will get a retail release and what will get an Exclusive release.

Yeah its weird as hell that Chaser gets an exclusive release but Gold Drive is retail but I don't mind at all. Love Gold Drive and def getting this.

Now I have to track down a Kamen Rider Chaser that isn't the price of a piece of land.

My theory is that whoever made this decision doesn't know that Gold Drive is a different character than Kamen Rider Drive.

I'm in favor of just about anything being a retail release; web exclusives raise my blood pressure.

I might consider picking it up. I'd like a Drive villain other than Mashin Chaser, and I really don't like the design of Heart. I doubt Bandai will ever make a Roidmude (the base Roidmude designs were killer), so it's looking like Gold Drive might be my only option.

Loved Banno. Love Gold Drive's colors. Instant buy. Retail's a plus. End thoughts.

Oh this is definitely an instant buy for me, I love this suit, and it's always good to have more villains.

I know a way to prove if Bandai just likes messing with us and that is if they make Kiva an exclusive

I mentioned this elsewhere, but it's likely due to the fact that Drive was very well received in Japan and Banno himself seems to have been rather popular, receiving a lot of merchandise after the show ended.

There's also the fact that this is basically a repaint of Type Speed, it would have been very cheap to produce, so it's more worthwhile for them to take the risk on making it a mass retail release.

How is Banno popular?

Weird how its a retail release but chaser wasn't. Im not complaining. Happy to have him. Wish he came with a busted driver and additional signal AX.

it should be released by 2020 I mean it took them a few years to released Orga when pictures of it were shown so it has to be the same for Kiva

Man, you guys need to chill out about Figuarts Kiva never being a thing. It gets brought up every time a new Figuarts gets announced and quite frankly it's getting rather old.

Figuarts Kiva will happen at one point or another, yeesh.

In fairness, Bandai's refusal to release a Kiva base form has also gotten rather old, and it just seems to get stranger to a lot of us every time they announce a Rider release that's not him, particularly when it's something seemingly-odd like Gold Drive or Kiva-la.

I tend to agree that it'll get made eventually, but that's my optimism talking. In the meantime, let people vent.

To an earlier point about Banno's popularity, that doesn't entirely surprise me. The show got sharply more interesting to me around when he was introduced, and he broke core villains out of what felt (to me at the time) like a rut.
