I didn't want to buy that falconzord. I really didn't. I kinda hoped that legacy ninja megazord didnt look good so I didn't have to buy him....but that's not the case. He looks really nice and getting falconzord would only compliment him.

The Ninja Megazord doesn't look bad. Though it's not at all worth what it'll cost, imho.

The helmet is a nice surprise. Not sure I'll get it, but it is quite tempting. Neither of the MMPR Rangers were ever my favorite character, but the Red helmet is quite iconic, imo. I hope it's large enough to fit around my fat head, lol

I'm actually surprised the ninja megazord didn't clear the 150 mark.

I think Bandai considered TMZ to be two Legacy toys sold in one package...so $100 for the Red Dragonzord and $100 for the Assault Team. Still overpriced but I can understand the logic.

We're basically paying 110+65 for the Ninjazord with the Falconzord...so $175 for a completed figure.

Cool, I guess. Doesn't look nearly as impressive as the Thunder Megazord does. Not that that was worth the price either, but at least there were some decent/interesting engineering differences there as well as sculpted detail.

Fuck that. I love the Ninja Megazord, one of my favorite designs, but I already have one on my shelf, and I don't need to drop $110 for this...

Helmet is really a cool thing that will help some people trying to do cos-play without having to go through ebay or getting things custom made. And dear god I need that Ninja Megazord. The only one I have right now is that punching action one that didn't transform. Though I'm kinda confused on how the crane zord will work given how small and detailed it is.

Eehhh, not too crazy about the helmet. I'm sure some things will be changed, like the color being changed to a lighter Red and the teeth being painted. But why the panel lines? I never understood that. They sometimes appear on Power Rangers (and sentai) items, but as far as I'm aware it's not suit accurate to anything. Seems like an unnecessary cost.

Probably not as well, but it's not an entirely fair comparison. One is fiber reinforced plastic coated in automotive paint. The other is more than likely at best, ABS. I'm sure it will be good as a display piece if nothing more, and for the (significantly cheaper) price that's going to be an attractive and better option for most people.

And suddenly I'm glad I got the Kakuranger versions.

The Ninja Megazord is looking nice! Not a fan of the November release date though. I'm really looking forward to the Shogun Megazord whenever that comes around. It will be interesting to see if they do Ninjaman (or Ninjor) though.

Looks like EntertainmentEarth has the Legacy Ninja Megazord up for pre-order too. No pictures and same price tag, but with a release date of October. Same deal with the helmet, same price but month earlier release. BBTS is usually a little slower, right? I haven't ordered many things from them, but it's always seemed that way for me.

Yeah, I don't get why it is so late in the year. Give us something in Aug man!!!

After that, I don't need anymore Legacy zords unless they want to redo the first Megazord with all painted and sculpted details.

I'm so relieved I never bought into the stupid Legacy line. I knew years ago that there would be a creeping price jump for a bunch of glorified toys by an all-too-eager-to-pay fanbase but I didn't think it'd be so soon. Oh well.

That's most likely a given. We'll probably either see it or get confirmation at NYCC or at the very latest, next year's Toy Fair.

Well, something you have to look at is availability of the original figures. The original Megazord tended to go on eBay for about $100, while the Legacy went for $60 (God, I remember when that was a bit much for the line), while the Dragonzord fluctuated between 80 and 150 on eBay, with the Legacy going for originally going for $80 (I don't know why the Legacy figure has doubled in price. It wasn't exactly rare...)

The Legacy line wasn't originally trying to bleed buyers dry, though it became a little more apparent around the release of Legacy Titanus and it's $200 price tag was when they realized they could overcharge...

True. Not to mention that the further we go down the franchise the higher the prices kinda need to be unfortunately. Everyone & their nostalgia-filled mom knows the Dino Megazord, so selling it wasn't exactly hard to do. The only real reason for the $60 price tag being the paint & die-cast metal.

But only fans care about the Thunder Megazord & Ninja Megazord, which more than likely means higher price tags due to lower sales. They're trying to get their money back & can't rely on the general adult collectors audience anymore since their attachment to Power Rangers usually begins & ends with the Dino Megazord, hence the rising prices. We just got a single Zord cost the same price as the first Megazord for God's sake.

And unless your everyday customers start looking at these & buy them up like crazy the cost is only gonna get worse & worse. I shutter to think how much the often fan-requested Astro Megazord & Wild Force Megazord would be marked as in Legacy form. Hell, I'd bet the line ends up dying before it can even reach that far.

Of course, it's not like there's any real proof to all of this. It's just the projected image I see everytime someone talks about this line.

The Legacy ws $60 because it was a repaint of a $20 toy and has stickers for its details. That is it. It doesn't have sculpted and painted details like the rest of the Legacy zords are.

I also don't think it is a stupid line as it is giving me show accurate mechs that don't have garbage stickers.

Repaint? I'm pretty sure having the exact same design and altering the materials used to make it isn't what a repaint is, bro...

It's not a stupid line, but it's an exploitative line.

I actually didn't even know what the first Megazord looked like until I got back into Power Rangers about a year ago. Of course, I grew up with Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, and Time Force and I'd love to see some new versions of the Megazords from them (especially Time Force, I'd like that stupid combining gun too). The only reason the Legacy line interest me is because of the designs. As much as ZordBuilder is hated I think it is a smart idea to do with these, if they started to widen the target audience. If they start to try and market the legacy line to kids by doing some "Flashback Filler" or whatever and doing some episodes that highlight past Ranger teams and their Zords and lower the prices of the Legacy line they might be able to pull kids into it.

If they don't do that they should just drop the ZordBuilder from it and start marketing it as kind of the Power Rangers equivalent of the Transformers Masterpiece line (which I think is what they're trying but failing). Having a gimmick aimed at kids who might have stuff from multiple lines in your collector-oriented line isn't that great of an idea. I know it comes from the re-aired MMPR and the redone Megazord for that but that doesn't mean you have to keep it.

It was still the same mold, therefore, it is a repaint. They didn't sculpt in the details. They didn't paint the details. They used sticker. The Legacy Megazord is the least show accurate of the entire Legacy zord line.

We've been through this song and dance before, but with different terms, so I'd rather not do it again.

They aren't trying to make Masterpiece Megazords. They are trying to make Godaikin-style Megazords, aka, what you SHOULD have been offered as a child but your parents were too cheap to buy, so we made plastic toys instead.

The Legacy line stands up very nicely next to Dynaman and Co.

If they were aiming for Masterpiece-level, we'd be seeing Soul of Chogokin figures at $200-$300 each.

I'm disappointed in Ninja Megazord. It looks pretty similar to the original toy. (To me at least.)

I'm actually pretty sure the correct term is retool/remold not repaint because they added the diecast.

As for it's use of stickers I always thought that was a throwback to the original toy since they were selling the thing based on nostalgia.

The entire point of the Legacy line is to have high-quality, show-accurate toys. Everything tries to be as show accurate as possible, you know, like the Masterpiece line.

Die-cast parts don't automatically make a toy better. You can ruin a perfectly good toy but putting die-cast in the wrong places. Plus, you do know the Megazords you had as a kid were TOYS that were meant to be PLAYED WITH. Have you ever been hit with a die-cast car before? It hurts. Now think if you had something much bigger, made of combining robots, that isn't the most stable thing in the world, with die-cast parts. There's a reason the boxes for the Legacy line have a suggested age of 15+ on them.

The Masterpiece line is about show accurate Transformers with ultimate articulation and little to no diecast (at least since MP-10).

The Legacy line is shooting in a different direction. Yes, it's aimed at collectors. But no, it's not trying to be a Masterpiece line. It's more like the American version of the Artisan series in Japan...a different beast altogether.

Never said die-cast automatically made things better. Titanium Series Transformers proves that poor designs married with die-cast are not ideal.

However, we ARE talking about well-engineered toys that have die-cast metal where they should. The Godaikins were designed exactly that way. The Legacy line is, essentially, carrying the Godaikin banner onward to where collectors now have the money to afford them. Because, as kids, most of us (or our parents) couldn't afford $60-$80 high-quality die-cast mecha. So Bandai gave us chunky plastic toys instead at more affordable costs. Now, Bandai knows we can afford those guys at retail.

The Legacy Megazord has more in common with classic DX GoLion than Transformers Masterpiece Star Saber. Similar audience but very different appeal.
