Excellent news all around!
|
Waiting to see if this spreads to other Western territories before I personally get excited. It is good news though.
|
Looks like I actually have a reason to use Prime, then...
|
It might not be a main TV Series like Gaim but this is still freaking awesome, looking forward to this. Also makes me wonder if this means we might have a realistic shot at getting some other Kamen Rider series to be on US streaming services like Amazon or Crunchyroll at some point if enough people watch this one. Also I've been behind on news is Kamen Rider Amazons a sequel series to Kamen Rider Amazon or a reboot/spin off of it?
|
Did we get a timeframe on when it's gonna be up? The first thing I did after reading this was check Prime video. :P
|
Means I'll have to get my subs from somewhere else now, huh? Crap.
Oh well, second season hype. |
Now this is neat!
|
Wohoo!
|
I can say I certainly didn't see this coming.
Huh. I wonder if this will open the floodgates for Kamen Rider to, perhaps, successfully make it's way to the US. |
Does it confirm if they will be subbed for the western audience?
|
Hmm, may have to keep my trial Prime membership if this is true. I do love me some Amazons.
Also, there's an Amazon Ultraman, too? |
So will Season 2 be a continuation of Season 1 or focus on a different Amazon?
Make sense because you cannot kill 1000 Amazons in one day unless you got a big dynamite to kill it? Would you like Season 2 be continuation from Season 1 or focus on a New Amazon? |

Fantastic news. I expected as much for a season two, but it's still great to hear.
It coming to US Prime is also good news! I think my sister still has her Prime membership, so I may be able to watch it like that. Hopefully the subs they have will be at least as good as OT's though. |

Wait, what's wrong with CR's Ultraman subs? I'm curious. What kind of mistakes are they making?

Ah. I was just afraid it'd be blatant mistranslations.

Tsuburaya tried to sell Gaia and Dyna in the 90s to American broadcasters, I would imagine the subs Crunchyroll used are probably the Gaia subs - why pay for an entire set of subs when you have them already done? That definitely accounts for any weirdness because they were likely J > E done by a native Japanese speaker. They tried to sell Mebius as well, so their Mebius subs were probably used for Crunchyroll too. I wouldn't be surprised if everything barring X used preexisting subs.
Also, the Ultraman show announced is an Ultraman Orb spinoff that starts in December, no other details. The producer of Amazons says they plan the final episodes to be titled "Z" so it's another 13 episodes. Quote:
They didn't actually mention any territories, what they said was "We plan to bring these shows to overseas Amazon Prime members" but nothing set in stone. |
Sweet! May wait until that happens to finish the show then. This is definitely good news though.
|
You mean I'll actually be allowed support a series I enjoy watching on its intended streaming service? Instead of just being forced to illegally download it from a country it's usually not available in?
What a novel concept. :lol Sign me up. |
Yes!!!!!!! My prayers have been answered. I love this show. I hope we get more Amazons or new forms for Alpha and Omega.
|
That's cool I guess. It would have been bigger news for me if it was a BD announcement for the US.

Tokusatsu in much of the world is still just "Power Rangers" and "Godzilla". |
Oh my god this is great! I was just watching the series today!

I'm guessing this will mean official subs though which is pretty rad- might act as a good gateway for getting people into the franchise, though I wonder whether some people new to toku might be disappointed moving from an edgier, grittier series like Amazonz to one of the mainstream shows |

I am excited to see this show come over seas. It is amazing even if it may not be successful out side of Japan.
The second season news I almost expected. While I do enjoy the news (and wouldn't Amazons be the first rider show with two seasons?) I would have preferred to have seen another showa show be redone. |
This is excellent news can't wait to hear more about Amazons Season 2.
|
Holy crap! Amazons being stream in the US? I guess I better set up a Amazon streaming account soon!
|
Is it coming to Amazon Prime US because I actually have that lol. This is wonderful news.
|
Can I buy the series without getting Prime?
|
I'm a little bummed out that the Ultraman part of this story wasn't mentioned, but ah whatever.
This is good news! I'm enjoying Amazons and it's cool that we're getting more of it and officially in English and it'll be interesting to see what the Orb spinoff actually is. Shame we don't have Amazon Prime in Australia yet though! :V But soon, maybe? Apparently? |
hopefully this leads to a Blu-ray release, and spirits willing, a dvd release of the original Amazon.

While I'm excited for SOMETHING Kamen Rider-related to finally be freaking legal to watch internationally, I'm not exactly happy with their choice. Amazons isn't a bad series IMO, I haven't even seen it yet. But it's not a main series show, so it's being handled a little bit differently in terms of story, character & overall feel. The fact that Kamen Rider is a family show as well heavily influenced from a toyline is not really present. Atleast that's what I've gathered from watching reviews & reading posts from people who have seen it. It's just not a traditional series, so it may give off the wrong impression of what else the franchise has to offer to new viewers. That's my only worry.
Again, I'm glad SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE decided to give this franchise a chance. But man, when the hell are we gonna get actual services done for the main series so we can watch it & support it legally? Hell, isn't there some kinda Toei video website where you can watch Toku but like, only in Japan? I remember hearing from a few people talking in videos on how they visited Japan, got an account, watched Sentai on it & then when they went back to America the website wouldn't allow them to use its services anymore since it wasn't available outside of Japan. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? |
