Let's ask Netflix!
So just an idea, but everyone who has a Netflix account should try suggesting the few Kamen Riders available in English (V3 and The First) to them. I just did it and I was thinking that if they got an influx of requests for it that might give it more of a fighting chance. I know it is a very slim chance but still, it's at least worth a shot right?

Sounds like a fun idea.

Only if we can have the Dynaman gagdub.

Would be cool, but I don't think it will happen. At least Amazon Prime is getting Amazons soon.

P.S.: Not all dubs are, by definition, terrible. Not the same, perhaps, but not universally terrible. |

I mean, if Netflix can have a show like City Hunter, why can't it have Kamen Rider? I'd totally be down.
However, I think the best thing we can do is all watch Amazons when it comes to Prime in the US. |

Dubs widen audiences. They're good for that alone. If you watch shows subtitled then I don't know why you even care that much. |

Like ZRV said, dubs help bring in more people to watch it. Not everyone watch things sub titles. I remember when someone walk out from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and wanted their money back because it was not dubbed. America dubs things in English no different what countries do with media release outside of their own country. Video games and cartoons from the US do get dubbed in Japan and not released subtitle (from what I've seen). No different here. |

As far as the Toke dubs getting on Netflix? Don't see that happening unless we get every person on the Internet to beg for it. (See: Deadpool 2016 and Fox studios) Who knows who owns the rights to that stuff, and I doubt they not Netlifx would spend the money to stream something 1% of their accounts would watch. Now Toku shows subbed? I'm still waiting to see how popular the Shiut Factory sets are before I worry about anything past Sentai. |
Speaking of Shout, I want Netflix to license their Sentai subs.
While Kamen Rider would be a mess, I think Netflix can work with Toei to use Shout's subs. |

I won't give dubs a shot, don't bother asking me to try any dub that is supposed to better. |
The 60's Ultraman dub is okay for it's time. Tiga's dub did suck because of 4kids. I think someone like Bang Zoom! Entertainment, Studiopolis and Funimation can pull off a pretty good dub.

Dubs are made with varying standards and goals. There's good, bad and mediocre ones out there.
I personally prefer Subs for Japanese media these days, because you hear and see the actual performance (and I happen to learn the language, so Subs are more beneficial in that case). Though, admitted, a good dub can cover up a horrible actor performance in the original, lol. But then again, dubbing is a work to be appreciated in some form for all the work that flows into it. It's a good service for people who don't speak the original language and just watch their shows more casual too (as in, not having the dedication to keep reading or do stuff while they watch. And of course, some people can't read that fast). It's personal preference. Even when it comes to what kind of dub you like. Close to the original? Adapted to the culture the dub was made for? |

Beside Netlfix, I think people should also ask Dramafever and Viki to start picking up Toku shows too. Both Dramafever and Viki have already picked up Chinese TV dramas. I would love it if DF and Viki can branch out to toku shows.
