I'm okay with this as long as any series they get will get a video release.

Don't get your hopes up. One doesn't necessarily lead to the other.

Yeah since I don't think we will get any Kamen Rider shows on home video anytime soon. However getting legit subs of Kamen Rider on CR would be great.

It would be pretty awesome to get official Kamen Rider subs. Though that seems to be a deal Amazon might make instead, but who knows.

I don't get why people would want to get DVD's. Like if you can just instantly stream or download something, why get a DVD? Doesn't make much sense really.

1) Streaming sites don't keep their catalogues forever. All of a sudden they could pull a show and then what do you have? With a DVD you have a copy to watch whenever you choose.

2) Download from where exactly? Fansubs don't support the show themselves and I don't see anywhere offering legal downloads of toku any time soon.

My reasons to buy DVD and Blu-Rays are:

1. It can save hard drive space. With DVD and Blu-Rays, I don't have to worry about wasting space on my PC hard drive, my Ipod or my phone.

2. Streaming websites won't have the TV show or movies on their website forever. If I own something on DVD or Blu-Ray, I can watch anytime I want too. Not to mention stuff like Netflix or Hulu won't always have the shows or movies you want. For example, if I want to watch an obscure anime like Detonator Orgun, it won't be on Netflix. That's why I still own my DVD copy from 2009 because you can't find a legit way to watch it online.

3. If the titles that you download end up getting deleted or somehow destroy, you can't always re-download the TV show or movie if the company no longer has the license to that title. Also stuff like Itunes, won't let you re-download movies, TV shows and music seeing that you will get a "Your computer is not authorize to play or watch this song, movies or TV show" message.

^This. This is my arguement whenever someone asks me why I still bother to buy DVDs. Because I'd like to watch my Stargate SG-1 even when the Internet is down or my paid subscription runs out, because it's already bought and owned.

I notice digital media started to become popular around 2007 when they offer you disc copies to movies for the first time. I always threw those copies in the trash because you have a date until it's no longer works (I remember my Live Free or Die Hard DVD copy had a digital copy that would last until mid 2008). Not to mention, I feel like people are too lazy to go out and buy something like they used too. They can just download a title while sitting around doing nothing.

1. A physical copy will ALWAYS be superior to a streamed version.

2. Who knows how long that show/movie will be streaming for. Netflix is a prime example of bullshit. For example, they'll have in Oct like Halloween 6 and maybe Resurrection, but not the original or its sequels. They take things down all of the time. I can't even watch the good Avengers cartoon on there anymore becasue they replaced with that garbage newer one.

3. Streaming will never look or sound as good as a physical disc. Usually the beginning of a TV series has to load, so you are waiting there with piss poor blocky looking video quality while it loads the episode. You can't pause it either because it to wait either because it only loads it when playing.

4. I have something to show for what I pay for on my shelf.

5. I won't rewatch something I don't own because I would rather rewatch something I do own.

6. You have to be connected to the internet to stream. What if your internet is down? What if you are moving and waiting for Comcast to come a week later to set up your internet? What if the machine you watch your stream on is down for an update? What is the streaming site itself is down due to some jackass hacker?

I don't have to deal with any of that when I have a disc because I just turn on my player, pop in the disc, and I'm watching it.

Not to mention, not every place has the best internet connection. You have hotels, motels and beach houses that have shitty internet if you are going on vacation.

Eh what ever, I still find physical copies not that great. When I watch a show I typically don't go back and rewatch it. Also it saves quite a bit of money when I can just stream something. Maybe its because I spent a lot of time on Youtube, so I'm used to streaming, but that's just my personal preference.

A lot of that probably has to do with licensing.

Netflix does have to pay to obtain licenses, after all. So if it feels something isn't getting the views it should, why should they continue to pay so much for a movie that's not getting any attention?

I mean, it does kind of suck, but legal streaming means you're not guaranteed everything you want, which is why physical media does have it's advantages.

Blockbuster and Video Factory never had that problem. I used to be able to walk into any BB/VF and get any movie that existed.

I know it's all about licensing, but I still think that is bullshit. It should be no different than it was when renting in physical stores.

Then what's the point of watching a show at all if you aren't going to bother revisiting it? I watch things with the intent on liking them enough to rewatch them over. I've watched Breaking Bad twice in the last year. I've rewatched Dairanger 18 times. Hell, I used to watch Transformers The Movie every month until a few year's ago.

Well, there is a bit of a difference with availability, too.
With physical stores, you were limited to how many copies the store decided to purchase.
They could purchase as many copies of popular movies as they saw fit, while less popular or poorly received movies would be sitting with only one or two copies on the shelves for rent.

With streaming, there's an infinite number available at all times, and they have to pay equal prices for both.
If they started a deal to get the 7 Saw films, but numbers show that only the first two were getting a decent amount of views, why continue to pay the hundreds of thousands of dollars to host the other 5 that no one are watching?
It's just a theoretical scenario, but that's basically the gist of it.

This sentence makes no sense. Like not every show that I am going to see I'm going to visit again. I might enjoy a show, but once I've finished it, that's it, I finished it. Same with movies I might sit down and watch one, but it doesn't mean I'm going to watch it again in the near future or ever. If you could d please explain this sentence to me.

I really hope they're able to do this and cover some of the main Kamen Rider series, would be really cool to see Gaim or W(double? Not sure the right way to write out the name tbh) on Crunchyroll.
