Would you want to see an Anime Version of Kamen Rider Heisei/Neo-Heisei
Since the Kamen Rider Spirits, how would you all make OVAs out of the Kamen Riders from the Heisei & Neo-Heisei eras?
Fourze has that anime vibe with the whole high school theme and space. OOO can have Eiji fight the original OOO revived. W/Double can have Kirihiko revived as a Kamen Rider to fight alongside Double & Accel. |
We can have another Shin Chan crossover!

The only way we will get Kamen Rider anime if they do OVA's out of them. Toei mainly does anime on time slots that kids would watch TV. That would mean you have to two different toy lines going on at the same time. So a OVA would work for better for Kamen Rider.
I think a OVA series based on the Heisei Novels would be cool. I remember the Kuuga novel had a female rider in it from what I was told. |
Honestly if they ever make anime adaptions or OVA’s I would want them to take place in the shows universe instead of retelling stuff we already know. Basically make more episodes of the shows but introduce new characters and tell new stories.

I have no idea what happens from there because the book hasn't been translated, but it sounds like a neat idea (And because they don't have to worry about toy sales, they can actually heavily feature a female rider!) Quote:

(I would be really interested in seeing the Heisei novels adapted though, they seem really interesting in general and would probably allow us English speakers to finally see what they are about.) |
Heck if they did OVAs of the Hero Sagas I'd be satisfied in terms of Rider being animefied.
|
I just want a series/OVAs using SIC designs. Standalone adventures from a few Riders and then a crossover to finish it off.
|
I think it'd be cool to get an original rider series as an anime. Something like Amazons, but anime instead of toku. A multi-rider series would work well I think.
With shows like OPM and MHA being so popular lately, why not make an official kamen rider superhero anime? I'm sure there are a lot of answers to that question, but i'd still enjoy seeing it. |
Heisei novels being adapted in this way sounds like a fun idea, but then again...if what I read about the Faiz novel is accurate it basically involves Kaixa coming back from the dead to rape the main female protagonist. I haven't even seen Faiz but no, no thanks. No thanks even a little.
And the one for Blade sounds depressing. Who Knows. Jimber Dragon Arms, on the other hand, I could get behind... |
No. No, I wouldn't. I don't feel like there would be anything to gain from abandoning live action for animation (unless you really love special attack stock footage).

^Funny seeing I remember my cousin told me that watching the first few episodes of OOO felt like that he was watching a live action Shonen Jump anime show.

Personally I have never been that big into the idea of turning toku into anime. I have always thought part of the appeal of toku was to see real people doing all of stunts. When you can just draw what every kind of action scene. It loses some of the impact for me.

We had several anime based on Toku before. Some of them are good (Iria, Garo and Kikaider in my opinion). I don't mind anime adaptions of Toku if they are done right.
|
Seeing OVAs of the novels would be good, means we'd finally be able to know what's in those stories without learning Japanese

I mean, this show was pretty cool up until it went off the deep end. |
Besides Samurai Flamenco, Apocalypse Zero, Ratman (manga only), Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor, Zetman, Sadamitsu the Destroyer and possibly to some degree Baoh also seem to be inspire by Kamen Rider. At least we always have those if a Kamen Rider anime never happens. There is always the Skullman anime adaption too (The manga of Skullman did help create Kamen Rider later on).

Yeah I really want a Kamen Rider anime or different ones telling more stories from the shows. I mean this would be helpful for some of the actors they can't get back anymore like Fourze, Den-O, Kiva, etc... Though I'd love a Kiva anime the aesthetic of that would make for an amazing one.
|
How would you all see OVA series like Kuuga to Ghost? Remaking the stories.

I prefer having the Ishinomori Kamen Rider mangas as OVAs. Or Kamen Rider Spirits. |
I am really want anime version of:
- Kabuto because the main villain has insect motif like in Chrome Shelled Regios anime... - Fourze because one of Fourze main setting is in highschool like in many anime.... |
Here's how I would picture the anime versions of KR. The stories, riders & kaijin have problems:
Fourze: - High school setting is good. - Fourze & Meteor... I say turn Fourze into Gemini Horoscopes instead of Yuki. They should think about adding a zodiarts rider. - Horoscopes: Turn it into the student council. Gamou as the chairman is good - but make him Ophiuchus instead. Leo as the bodyguard is okay. The zodiarts rider? Make it Sagittarius instead. - Zodiarts Rider: Someone who acts as the opposite of Gentaro. Someone who sees people as his enemy. No one to trust. - More students representing the riders of the Showa era to join the KR Club. Wizard: - Do something about the Phantoms' origins. Like maybe connect it with OOO that one of the alchemists that served the King became the first mage - the arch-mage. Thought of something like the Legend of Sparda. - Wizard to me feels like Devil May Cry. So why not add a "Vergil" called Warlock to be the secondary rider with Beast as the tertiary? Mayu would've felt like Bayonetta. - Gremlin was a terrible antagonist. There should be someone like an Ancient Phantom whose been manipulating events and taking advantage of Fueki's desire to bring Koyomi back. Disguising himself as both Fueki's bodyguard, a Phantom general and an illusionist, he seeks to use the Philosopher's Stone for his own ends. Even killing Gremlin after fulfilling his desire to be human again. Gaim: - Gaim & Baron feel like Date Masamune & Sanada Yukimura. So for the next Gaim sequel, new riders that similar to Tokugawa Ieyasu & Ishida Mitsunari. - The Inves always have the same colors as Gaim, Baron & Ryugen. Why not complete the color set like yellow, orange & violet? Gaim has the Japanese - samurai & ninjas (not enough), Western - knights, gladiators & their squires and the Chinese - Dynasty warriors. Why not add more armored warriors like those from.... Africa (Egyptian), South America (Aztec), etc. Not all dance teams have become riders lately. Drive: - Chase needs to use the viral cores while in rider form. He's been using the Shingo Ax too much. - Drive hasn't used all the shift cars and there are cars who's tires haven't been shown. Including kakimazeru tires - American Dream, Weather Report, Tough Guy & Grand Prix. - Mach's attitude towards Chase needs to change after getting the tablet. Chase would say "Gou... what have I ever done to you to make you hate me?" and teach him not all Roidmudes deserve death... but some want to change. Chase has. Ghost: - Redo everything. Make Ghost feel like The Crow, while the other side would feel like Ghostbusters. The Eyecons are like the Dragon Balls. So hero eyecons - red stars & villainous eyecons - black stars. |

But yeah, extra stylish fighting scenes are a must have as not only would Wizard be capable of more shit, it'd be less taxing on the budget, as no suit actors, no needing to rent places, no suit and CGI is just animation |
No. If you make Kamen Rider into an anime, it takes so much away from the charm the franchise has. SD Riders, hell yes, but that's an Chibi-Kawaii-Comedy-Show, that's something that only works in anime and is basically a parody so it's quite different from having an actual anime. To be honest, as interesting as I found Shin Kamen Rider spirits as a manga, having the Riders as drawn characters that mostly looked nothing like the actor was super-alienating and I really had a hard time getting used to the style. I even have a hard time with other actors playing the characters, even if it's just dubbing over the suit. For me there's no other Kenzaki/Blade than Tsubaki Takayuki, no other Kouji/J than Mochizuki Yuuta, no other Gou/ Mach than Inaba Yuu etc.

I can picture the ending credits using the battle themes.

I still love to see Mad House work on a Kamen Rider OVA or animated movie. I doubt Toei will let another animation company use their characters.

It's not about liking or hating Kamen Rider, it's about the time. The usually have much better pay with other acting jobs outside of Kamen Rider. Hibiki's actor recently reprised his role in a game for the first time ever and that was a pretty big thing, because he wasn't very happy about what happened to the show when Inoue and his team took over. How about storylines of every rider series into OVAs. What do you want to change? And fix?
|
I don’t know about an adaptation of an already-existing installment, but I wouldn’t mind an original series―new characters and story―in animated form, a la GARO.
|
I think if I pick a OVA spin off for any Raider, I would like to see a Kamen Rider OOO OVA based on the first OOO from many years ago. It would be interesting to see more backstory on the first OOO.
