Storyline Discussion
I thought I'd go over some ideas I had. For both versions, if they keep the story and if they come up with something original. And then you can leave your thoughts here to.
We'll start at the ... start, I guess. I know, how novel :lol And, uh, this has Spoilers of Goseiger in it.. so you've been warned. We already have hints that Gosei watches over the Earth, and calls on Five Teenagers with Attitude to defend the Earth against the coming of Warstar. So, if this is true, we can disregard the Goseigers being a branch of humanity. And somehow, call me crazy (But here's my number, so call me maybe?), I doubt they'll call anything Heaven's Tower. Maybe Gosei Tower. To destroy Gosei's connection to Earth. Making him need to recruit defenders, Power Rangers Megaforce. My guess is, the Yuumanju from Goseigers will become servants of the Warstar. Instead of their own thing. And since Gosei Knight is related to them in the Goseiger storyline: What they might do here is, if he is a robot, have him be activated by the return of the Yuu's. Now. If you watched Goseiger, and why haven't you?, you know the one manipulating everyone is A Rogue Gosei Angel. Somehow I doubt they'll go as extreme as wanting to recreate the world in his image, but. They'll probally keep something like this in. Only change it to Gosei's brother. Though that just brings up more Biblical references. As for the rumors that there will be cameos and such of past rangers? I'm thinking they'll come to the Megaforce's aid now and again. Given how big the crisis is. Or they'll do one, big, Forever Red/Once a Ranger storyline for a few episodes. Now for other things. Alata they'll probally keep the same. Though they'll probally change him and Eri from childhood friends to siblings. It would work better, if you think about it. Eri I see them keeping her the same to, maybe making her Ala's older sister. We need another strong woman. Like Time Pink, or Wild Force Yellow. And in Goseigers she was very older sister...ish. Agri (Who was, by far,my favorite Goseiger (Aside from Knight <3)) they can keep pretty much the same. I don't see a reason to change him. Moune they might have to change. If they make Alata/Eri siblings you can't very well have Mou and Agri siblings to. Hyde .. Well, one big thing they have to change is Magis. They aren't going to have as part of his story that his partner was killed thousands of years ago. Yea, no. Don't even know if they're introducing old Gosei Green yet. I mean, I hope so. I want to see Gosei Mystic very badly. And Wonder Bird brings us to the Zords. I think they'll stay unchanged aside from the names, like in Samurai. What else are they going to do? What they'll include though? Gosei Great, the Ick Brother sets, and Gosei Ground are givens. Gosei Ultimate might need to change though. But they'll incude the Miracle Headers, they almost have to. Just have to change some names, is all. Gosei Ultimate will probally become something like Gigaforce Megazord. I really want to see Gosei Wonder. I love the Wonder Headers, I love the giant.. Garuda .. Purple thing. And I love it has n axe the size of a small mountain. And now we come to the unwanted stepchild in the room... Datas. I know we need him, as I remind myself everyday, to form Megaforce UltraGigazord. But.. Yea, he was my least favorite part of Goseiger. I'll be honest. Just, Saban, please do this humble servant of you will one small favor? Make his voice better than you made Ninjor... and Sentinal from OO.. and Genji.. Please? Well, that's all I got. (And remember: An idea for a storyline isn't: Gokaigers descend in Galleon and blow up all of the Goseigers lol)(I'm on to you -point-) |
maybe show footsoliders attack people and then 6 anster megaforce rangers show up stop them in begginning
|
I don't know about Alata and Eri being siblings. I think childhood friends works out a little better considering that Agri and Moune's personalities were pretty much "look guys I have a sibling on the same team and we're both very strong", so they'd either require major retooling or they'd have to be kept siblings. Frankly, I think the most workable character, beyond Alata's generic red ranger, would be Hyde, as he's just the typical older wise guy. Gosei Green didn't seem to be too important to him in the long run.
As for good old Datas, I'm guessing they'll go with the Alpha personality. Their movements were actually pretty similar if you think about it, with the whole arm flapping thing that Datas had when he was running. |

I was rewatching RPM and had a thought about DATAS. What if he doesn't talk? Look what they did to the RPM Zords. And honestly, they could cut out alot of DATAS and still be alright. The most they absolutely need him for is to form Hyper Gosei Great. (And Spada, you're right. Looks alot better on screen than it does as a toy). I don't know, you know. And I had a thought about Dark Goseknight. Obviously, Duh, you can't show torture. So.. what if, if they do it, they just reprogram him? This is of course still going on the assumption he'll even be a robot. |
Quote:
Dark Goseiknight could probably work just the same, without the torture. They did that with Frax from Time Force, although I don't think they'd blow up Goseiknight like they did with him. |
datas coveted by sheet at end of ep 3
one of goseiger uncoved him in ep 4 |
Some casting sheets had made references to the Red Ranger having a crush on the Pink Ranger, and her playing it off like she's not interested, but really she is to the point she gets jealous when the Yellow Ranger flirts with the Red Ranger.
Could make for an interesting dynamic and add a bit to the non-morphed stories. I think a great background would be something like this... Gosei, an apprentice mystical being who trained under the tutelage of the great and powerful Zordon has come to Earth with a grave warning - the Warstar is invading the Earth! Following in the footsteps of his mentor, Gosei picks five teenagers with attitude and they become the Power Rangers Megaforce. The Megaforce Rangers enjoy early victories but are quickly becoming overwhelmed because they lack the training needed to stop such an incredible invasion. Gosei calls out to some of Zordon's greatest Power Rangers to return and help train the new Power Rangers what it means to be a Power Ranger. Red Ranger - episode to focus on his training with Jason (Austin St John) Blue Ranger - episode to focus on his training with TJ (Selwyn Ward) Black Ranger - episode to focus on his training with Adam (Johnny Yong Bosch) Yellow Ranger - episode to focus on her training with Tanya Pink Ranger - episode to focus on her training with Cassie (Patricia Ja Lee) Seems realistic. Jason David Frank won't come back again (stated as late as this year that Saban has not contacted him and he got the idea that they never would, though Paul Schrier believes they will eventually), Amy Jo Johnson will never return (career killer for what little career she has), Christopher Lee (Andros) won't come back (have you seen him?! He's fat now!). Anything post Zordon will kind of lose importance if you keep the Zordon/Gosei mentor/apprentice angle. But hey, it ties in to 20 years nicely. |

I just don't know if they'll bring up Zordon. I mean, the last series that did was OO. And that was for only an episode. Then I'm still hoping they direct translate Goseiger xD |

Does anyone else hope they find a way to work in Gosei Green?
|
Yes, Don Dogoier definitely needs US exposure :lol

I meant Gosei Green. |
If what those book summaries told us, the Megaforce are going to be painfully naive.

well im gonna go off kickbacks idea and say zordon is gosei's mentor, and datas will be a new version of alpha, alpha 10 or something. and by the promo shot of the power rangers 20 years promo shot, i say jason david frank will come back, but only as a voice actor for the white tiger costume, and he will have a sort of akared power as a gift from zordon. but itll only be like a two parter.

well maybe zordon and alpha wont be included, but i still stand by my idea of a two-parter about an akawhite if u will. OMG i just thought this, it will be a direct translation, and the angels will revive zordon back from the dead to call on the others rangers!
|
It had better not be a direct translation. Some of our best seasons have had our own story. Ahem Rpm.

master head is statue in goseiger

I've been thinking. We have confirmation that the Warstars are in Megaforce. Who come from space. We also know the second half of Megaforce will be Gokaiger, which I'm still trying to get over. So now we know they absolutely have to use a new storyline.
That's alot we know. What I'm thinking is because of all that that they might merge the Warstar with the Zangyack. And they can do it two ways, from how I figure. A) Like Zedd did to Rita, The Zangyackers are the bosses, or another enity, and come to replace the Warstars for not being able to stop the Goseigers. (Long as they they don't do the marrage storyline. I don't need to see Dereputa marrying Warz. Though.. Warz is kind of femme, they could make him a her and do it.. Oh lord, Saban dont listen! I was joking!) B) They're already combined. Where Dereputa is Warz's second in command, and there is no Monsou. Which would suck. Honestly, I think A is more likely. Which means also that they cut Yuumanjuu out of the story completely. Also means we miss out on the great 199 Gosei vs Gokai movie being made here. Which sucks. |
Weren't the Yumanjuu mentioned in the Megaforce press release though?

I like the idea of the Zangyack being a seperate entity from all of the Goseiger baddies. That is, the Megaforce battle the Warstars, and then the other two groups, and then as part of the big finale to the first half of the season, the Zangyack show up. Perhaps the Warstars and the others are scared of the Zangyack and retreat (ala Zedd and Rita running from the Machine Empire). Cue reshot Legend War footage and enter the Gokaiger footage.
Heck, the Zangyack could be a reference to the Machine Empire. They have a lot of mechanical looking characters and all. The "Second Galactic Machine Empire" or something. :D |
I had a few Hopes for Megaforce and how they'll introduce older seasons.
In Space - Very much hoping for this they bring back the Psycho Rangers somehow. It wouldn't hard just say they were reformatted or something. And like their original incarnation: They need to destroy the rangers to become whole again. RPM - Dr. K. They have to introduce Machalcon somehow, and I doubt seriously they'll have the Zords give plop out a kid. So, my hope, is Dylan returns with Doc K with a new prototype Zord. Mystic Force - Fireheart runs away. Fireheart was always smart, and he'd know something was wrong in the world. So maybe he runs away, Mystic Red follows, and at first thinks the MF Rangers stole him. Zeo - I really want Mondo to return. Or atleast some form of the Machine Empire better than the rehashed Beetleborg suits we got in Forever Red. How awesome would it be if the Megaforce Zords combined with Pyramidus. The answer is Very. Operation Overdrive - Ignore the entire series and only use the one redeeming part of the entire series. Daibouken Megazord. S.P.D. - This ones an easy slam dunk of an episode. Warstar/Zangyank springs a prisoner from SPD HQ, Doggie comes and much ass-kicking follows. It has to be Doggie. He was my favorite part of that whole season. Just some random thoughts. |
I know this has been done before, but I think It'd be awesome if we went full circle & introduced the Zangyack as the Neo-Machine Empire.

2 ep - zombats make monsters big and pr mf get zords and 5 zords unite in into gosei great megazord |
I've made a few revisions to my original theory/speculation that I came up with back in June regarding the story for how Gokaiger could be adapted into Mega Force. Here's what we know so far (if I'm missing anything feel free to notify me):
-Goseiger suits will be used for both seasons. No word on the Gokaiger suits, so it's safe to assume that this will be like MMPR season 2, what with the addition of only Gokai Silver to the cast. -Gosei Knight/RoboKnight will appear much earlier in the show, though I'm going to assume he'll be a supporting character along the lines of Blue Senturion and Sentinel Knight, and not an actual Sixth Ranger. -Gokaioh will be in the show, but again, no word on the Gokaiger suits. -Goseiger will be season 1, while Gokaiger will be season 2. -We're getting a re-shot Legend War with only Power Ranger teams, assuming we get the US-exclusive Rangers as well (i.e. Titanium Lightspeed Ranger, Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers). As far as the story for Mega Force goes, there's no way it will be a direct translation of Goseiger for the first half. From what the promos say, it feels like it's going to be a rehash of the story from MMPR season 1, what with the whole "giant head and robot assistant choosing five teenagers with attitude" thing. I don't mind that, it's just going to be something to get used to again. Of course, Dino Thunder was the last season to do the whole "Rangers in high school" deal, so this story shouldn't be new. Now, onto my crazy speculation as for how Gokaiger will be adapted, taking the information we know so far into consideration. This is going to be very long: The Warstar Aliens, after many failed attempts at beating the Rangers, decide to call the Zangyack Empire as a last resort/trump card, and they invade Earth in full force, kind of like Countdown to Destruction from In Space. The Mega Force Rangers and Robo Knight attempt to fight them off, but in the process, all the Zords get destroyed, including Gosei Great Megazord. The Zangyack army is too great, and the Rangers are forced to retreat, but the foot soldiers of the Zangyack (let's call them Clankers) chase after them. The Rangers hide in a forest, and just as the Clankers are about to finish them, a familiar Power Sword is seen striking away one of the Clankers' gun/cudgel things, followed by a Zeo Power Sword as well. Jason and Tommy have arrived as Mighty Morphin' Red and Zeo Ranger V. The Mega Force Rangers are in shock, seeing two more Red Rangers. Tommy explains that Zordon's spirit contacted Gosei, who in turn contacted every available Power Ranger team to help them stop the combined Zangyack/Warstar threat. Jason says that the other Rangers will be with them shortly. But as a Sugormin (let's call them Bludgers) is about to hit Jason, a familiar Shadow Saber stops the Bludger. Doggie (as SPD Shadow Ranger), along with SPD Kat Ranger, Magna Defender/Mike, Blue Senturion, Lauren/Female Red Samurai Ranger, Sentinel Knight, Jared, Camille, Udonna/White Mystic Ranger, and Leanbow/Wolf Warrior, come to aid their fellow Rangers, giving them time to escape to the battlefield. Cue epic re-shot Legend War footage, with the Mega Force and Mighty Morphin' Rangers leading the charge amongst the many Rangers from the past, present, and future (as well as some from different dimensions...RPM :( Damn you Jonathon Tzachor!). During the fight, Tommy makes a joke to Eric/Quantum Ranger about Eric's Q-Rex eating Tommy's Dragonzord for lunch, a nice nod to the 10th Anniversary episode "Forever Red". Tommy: So what's this I hear about your Q-Rex eating my Dragonzord for lunch any day? Eric: Seriously? You bring this up NOW of all times? That was eleven years ago! *Punches a Clanker* Give it a rest! Tommy: Just saying...I'd like to see that happen. Eric: Ugh. All the Red Rangers (including the extra ones) and the Mega Force Rangers go after the Warstar Leader (name escapes me at the moment, sorry), who attempts to overpower the Reds, but the combined might of the Red Rangers' finishing moves mortally wound him. He decides to self-destruct the ship, willing to take the Rangers down with him, as the explosion will not only destroy all the ships in the area, but also all the Rangers fighting on the ground as well. One of the Power Rangers gets an idea to use their suits to absorb the explosion, but another one says that they won't be able to contain that much raw power. Jason and Tommy decide that the only way to stop the explosion from killing them all is that they sacrifice their Ranger Powers to the Mega Force Rangers so that they have the strength to move the ship away from Earth so that the explosion won't harm anyone. The Mega Force Rangers are reluctant at first, but Robo Knight tells them that it's their duty as Power Rangers to save the universe, and now is the time (another nod to Zordon's speech to Andros in Countdown to Destruction). They allow the previous Ranger teams to give them their powers in the form of Ranger Cards (since the Goseiger suits will be used for both seasons), which gives them enough power to move the ship away so that it explodes, and the remaining ships are ordered to fall back, one monster saying that Dark Specter (who can be Ackdos Gil) will be furious about this. However, in the ensuing process, the Ranger Cards are scattered throughout the galaxy. Season 1 ends with the Mega Force Rangers creating new Zords (which is where Gokaioh can come in) and venturing into space to find the Ranger Cards. Season 2 begins a year later, with the Zangyack Empire returning, with Poseidark (Walz Gil), Dark Specter's son, overseeing the conquest of Earth. The Mega Force Rangers return with all the Ranger Cards they've found (minus the Sixth Ranger and Supporting Hero Cards), and from then on, it's more or less a direct adaptation of Gokaiger, only they become different Power Ranger teams, either using any available Gokaiger footage or by creating American footage. I'm not sure how Gokai Silver will be introduced, though he might as well be a Power Ranger fanboy in Mega Force season 2 and uses Ranger Keys instead of Ranger Cards to morph. Basco's going to be a tougher nut to crack, seeing as though he was Gokai Red's rival/personal nemesis in Gokaiger. Maybe he'll be a bounty hunter who hunts down the Mega Force Rangers in season 2. That's all I've got, but I think this could work. Quote:

in beginning is gosei the guardian give anicent powers to grandpaerts to kids to their kids
|
I've been considering this. And would them going the way of the original season be that horrible? What if Gosei became the new Zordon? And instead of switching entire casts every year you just went new person to new person has the situation warrants? Like the old days.
|
I would still suspect the yearly cast/footage rotation to be more cost-effective with regards to the source material and tie-in toys.
But we'll have to see what Saban can do now. |

The only problem I see there is that they'd have to find a decent reason to drop team members when it comes to Go-Busters. Going from a 6 piece to a 3 piece (plus two was have lesser powers) might seem a bit jarring in a multi-season arc.
