1 Attachment(s)
While most of us are still counting pennies in a desperate attempt to afford the massive 40-DVD release featuring Power Rangers' first seven seasons, a complete list of Bonus Features for the set has been confirmed at last!

All these extras I'll probably never see :cry

Let's digest it shall we?
Sounds new. We'll see what it turns out to be, but probably a 17 minute expose on MMPR's history and how Power Rangers has change since then, ala a "20 years in the making" type of thing.
Casting auditions, obviously.
Another 17 minute expose.
Really excited about this one. Should have some REALLY cool behind the scenes stuff.
Cosplay and Power Morphicon.
Confusing. Halloween episode? The Wedding episode? A new feature?
This is an episode.
Sounds like another expose, though this may feature interviews with Schrier and Narvy.
All features that are just going to be put on DVD is all.
Original pilot.
If I remember correctly, this came out during TURBO and featured Johnny Yong Bosch as the host with special appearances by Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy.
A series of brief, 3 minute long videos that take place during/right-after the finale of Season 3 of MMPR. Scientists discover the Machine Empire heading to Earth, as do Zedd and Rita, etc.
I hope the music video is in this. But I doubt it. Probably the little snippets they aired about "WHO IS THE GOLD RANGER?" and such. The only thing I ever saw that even mentioned the phrase "gold lining" was the toy commercial that states, "Every cloud has a gold lining, introducing the Gold Ranger, blah blah blah.
???? That's my thoughts. |
Is it wrong that I'd rather just watch the episodes on netflix, and not spend the ungodly amount of money this costs? None of those extras really strike me as wanting to see. And, to be honest, most of what I do is skip the Bulk of the episode. I watch the monster arriving, them fighting, and the zord battles. Especailly of the first season.

That's what I thought about when reading the listing. I'm not sure anyone knows what I'm talking about, but to this day, it's still one of the best/cooler method for creating hype I've ever seen. You had absolutely no mention of Power Rangers anywhere (aside from the fact that it showed after the episodes iirc), just one of the symbols being drawn full screen with the words. I can remember thinking to myself "Oh shit just *what* does that mean!?" The good ol' days, right? :D EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5e01PQWqF0 There you go! Apparently I didn't remember all the details as it clearly shows it's for Power Rangers, lol. |
the stunt team one is the only thing that would have my interest actually...

I have to say I am disappointed. I was hoping for a documentary talking about Sentai and Power Rangers, outside of what the Lost Episode showed us. Plus, I wanted them to show the raw footage of the "Zyu2" stuff, such as getting to see the actual RoboGoat vs Daizyujin battle instead of Robogoat vs Thunder Megazord spliced in.
Now is the Monster Heads the one where Zedd had all of these monsters come to his throne for a party? And he was talking about things he did during the series? It was released as a stand alone VHS tape. If so, that was a good episode. Oh, the Zeo shorts were kind of cool, but they seemed to have nothing to do with the show when it actually aired. |
Wasn't there the one special featuring Austin St. John and Walter Jones talking about Sentai and stuff?

oh Man! I remember that Fan club video, I was one dissapointed kid, I thought it would be an interview with the Actors....but they were all "in character" the entire time.
|
Oh man, the fan club video. I remember seeing that as a kid, but I don't remember ever receiving anything after mailing the money...

See I am torn. I want to own all of the PR series I own the Sentai versions to. Plus, DVD will always look better than streaming. However, how many times am I really going to end up watching these series if I do buy them? That is my main concern. I mean, it took me 11 years to finally start rewatching all of my Simpsons DVDs (well, obviously less as I progress, since Season 1 came out in 2001 and Season 6 (which I am on now) came out in 2005).
