Kamen Rider Ghost Episode 47- "Concord! Everyone's Resolve" Discussion
Takeru and Adel are actually bonding over their shared conflicts, until a sudden revelation sets everyone on the path to battle.
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Well, I lost the poll bet.

So.....Ryu Tenkuji is killed by Adel....hm....not suprising....
But....thats can make Takeru supprising and sad.... And, thats really good drama esepecially interaction between Adel and Takeru and interaction between Takeru and his friends.... Battle between Deep Specter vs Deep Specter looks confusing. I think it would be better if the real Makoto used Houdini Ghost Eyecon and become Specter Deep Houdini Damashii.... In Ganma World....Edith become Dark Ghost and he trying to connect between two Monolith from Ganma World and Monolith in human world....and Edith looks funny when he transform into Dark Ghost and his funny action..... Edith's Dark Ghost Eyecon only say "Kaigan" without "Dark Rider! Yami no Chikara! Warui no Yatsura!" henshin sounds....strange... Maybe this is happened because Edith is good guy.... Next episode....Makoto killed...? I think the Evil Makoto will be killed and real Makoto is still alive.... |
Well the episode was great but I think the real news here is the OST is coming out. Seriously can't wait to actually hear all the amazing background tracks by themselves.
Really love everything they did with Makoto this episode. His little conversation with Alain really calls attention to his character arc (stop laughing), and I really like how far they went making his fight with Not!Makoto confusing as s***. I thought it was weird when he started saying he's the "real one" while still acting like the most generic villain ever so I'm happy to see it pay off. The stuff with everybody else was great too and I'm hecka excited to see the next episode. I like shows that save their best episode for last so if Ghost can do that it's going in my top 3 Rider shows easy. If not, it's still pretty up there. I'd like to sincerely thank all the haters here because I didn't even realize how much I love this show until you guys made me think about it a little harder. |
Gramps transforming was the best part of the whole episode. The rest just made me wish Ex-Aid would come around sooner.
|
This is actually an ok episode of Ghost. I mean, I'm usually not a fan of Ghost but this episode seemed ok-ish. Probably because of Alain and Gramps/Sage/Edith.
The rest was just same old, same old. |
This was pretty okay. I wonder what happens in the movie that Gramps gets the Dark Ghost eyecon? Also the OST, finally! Best part of the episode! :p

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually agree with Onari. There is absolutely no reason why Takeru should be trying to save Adel. He hasn't shown a single scrap of remorse for anything he's done and there's no reason to believe that he can still be talked down at this point. He's murdered at least two people, is actively enslaving humanity, and is the only remaining obstacle preventing Takeru's resurrection. On the other hand, killing him may make Alain sad. How is this even a conversation they're still having? Just kill the fucker already.
Okay, with all that said, I'm actually starting to get into the evil Makoto plot. It's really done little but annoy me up until now, but seeing the clone start to fully embrace Makoto's personality (what very, very, very little of it there is) is actually kind of interesting. I'm actually a little curious to see where this goes (I assume Nokoto sacrifices his life to save Takeru and/or Kanon, but I hope we get something less contrived). This storyline wasn't handled very well, but it is starting to hook me a bit at the end. I continue to have no idea what Edith's motivations are and I honestly don't even care at this point. I just really hated the comedic music they played during his sneaking scene. |
Why, just why is Edith suddenly Dark Ghost? :/
(other than "because movie" of course) |

Think of Adel like Micchi from Gaim. Of course, I remember people refusing to believe he'd ever get redemption of any sort either, so... Quote:

who had internal motivations that we understood as the audience. Adel just stands there with his Photoshop duplicates making vaguely threatening speeches to his sister. We have minimal understanding of why Adel is such a dickhole, and no "my mommy died and I feel bad" is not sufficient character background. He has done nothing to engender any sympathy from the audience and does not deserve a redemption ending. He's not Micchi or Heart; he's the principal from Fourze, who the show tried desperately to create pathos for at the last minute when he'd done nothing to merit any. |

But ever since I rewatched Gaim I can't help but feel it and Ghost are extremely similar shows, despite outward appearances. They're both unique shows with a lot of vision plagued by the fact that they're both complete f***ing messes, writing-wise. A lot of people give Gaim a pass on that because they like it, and I give Ghost a pass on that because I like it. EDIT: I'd also like to stress I only used that phrase because I think the subject of whether or not someone deserves forgiveness for something is inherently, massively subjective. I wouldn't dare use phrasing like that for arguing more concrete things, like plot holes or the like. |
I felt a lot of Kamen Rider Jun in Edith's scenes when he transformed into Dark Ghost. But the difference here is that Edith actually did something with his suit compared to Jun who just posed for a bit. I mean sure he only helped to open the gate but he pretty much opened up the way for the final battle which is good enough for me.
As to how he got the Dark Ghost Eyecon, I mean he did give Argos the Ghost Driver and Dark Ghost Eyecon's, not to mention he's created Eyecon's before, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a bunch of spares lying around. |

I think this scene came off way better. Rather than just a silly gag it's Edith's big moment to shine before the end of the show. And also it's a silly gag, so it's like the best of both worlds, or something. |

To this day I'm still wondering what about Takeru dying the first time made his condition so special, or how the hell Edith was able to "intercept his soul" or whatever when he died and give him a belt as well. Guess I have to wait and see what he did with Argos, as apparently he died before too.

I actually liked this episode more than the last ones only because I decided that if I have to sit through these then why not make fun of them. Here are a few things from that
Takeru being the ghost of Christmas past which honestly I would not be surprised if that was a joke The thoughts of what if Adel was a sadistic asshole and rubbed it in how he killed Takeru's father Adel's sister finally having a purpose which was to show us what Adel would look in drag for a quick second Fake Makoto knowing Makoto's thoughts which I imagined Fake saying "And I also know of those thoughts you have of Kanon you sick fuck!" (if you don't get that then I point to the Grimm focused episodes) still things I did questioned like why did they have to go to the takoyaki stand for Allen's scene? Quote:

I don’t really see what the deal with saving Adel is either. Of course Onari’s blunt "He killed the master so let’s kill him" isn’t logical, but with anything Adel displayed to our heroes so far it’s foolish to assume he’s coming around eventually. You’re risking countless lives as well as your own on a feeling that a mad man might follow your call to reason. And what is it based on? Him having some happy memories? Come on, that’s stupid.
Hell, even Alain wants to kill Adel now, so the "It would make Alain sad"-excuse is not valid either. Alain already dealt with it. Of course it will happen and everyone will be like "Takeru you so cool" (after he comes back from yet another faked death scene of course) and I will grind my teeth because it’s crap. But it’s what Ghost does best, so why should I be surprised that they end the show with more of it. I think if they had Adel go through more of an evolution instead of dickhead –> psychopath he would’ve been more believable, similarly to how Alain was handled. Alain is probably the best character in the entire show, but Adel is just a weak cliché villain. |

Sure it's stupid but can't you at least give the show credit for having every single element of the plot throughout the entire show all build up to this? Quote:

I completely loved this episode. To see everyone's resolve was great. Adel's revelation really brought so many emotions from everyone. That was an intriguing notion that Adel killed Ryuu and I loved Takeru's anger from it. I love his emotional distress from this because he wants to save Alain's brother but I'm sure he wants to destroy his father's killer. The Makoto vs Makoto fight was great because I had no clue which one was the real one and I love how the Makoto Replica is learning more about friends and Takeru's effect is changing him. Alain's resolve to fight against his brother was great too. Akari and Onari's emotions were great. I just loved how all the characters reacted and handling this situation. Adel continues to be crazy and he is a very intriguing villain. I can't wait for more of this ending.
