It looks like the next Super Sentai series will be called Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger, a spaced themed series according to the name!

One I'm happy the word ranger being used at the the end and the kyuu can ether mean 9 or swift so in English it could be space task force swift ranger or space task force Ninew neranger or it could be space squadron swift ranger or space squadron nine ranger.

Sounds fun. Seems like we're going back to a sci-fi theme, which I can dig~

A Space themed Sentai holds sooooo much promise. Only problem is that soooo many things can go wrong too. Not going to start down that road though. Here's to hoping for a bright and brilliant Space theme!!!

I kind of want it to be like ToQger where it's just the phonetic reading of Q so it'll just end up being Q-Ranger. My only reason being it looks cooler.

A space motif would be cool. Megaranger had a lot of cool designs, even if it wasn't strictly space. Too bad I thought the show was kind of boring.

They have to bring in a cameo like they did for Ninninger though. I can't see them doing Fourze, but maybe a Space Sheriff?

They haven't done something that felt sci-fi to me since Go-Busters, so I hope it's true that this is the next Sentai. Also, I'm hoping that Watty's guess comes to pass because Q-Ranger would be spangly-awesome. Interesting, if this really is the next show (as opposed to a different project,) that they're returning to the "ranger" naming after so long.

Space Sentai Q/9/Kyuuranger? Color me excited.

"Space" paired with "Kyuu"/"9" makes me think of the nine planets in our solar system. You guys think we're in for a 9-person team, powered by each of the planets?

That's kind of what I thought (and made me wonder if my idea was being ripped-off: http://www.tokunation.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=17). But Pluto is still a minor planet, even tough it's just been visited by New Horizons.

As someone who's only seen Zyuohger so far, I have but a simple request.

The current planet nine has only been theorized, though, due to some observed gravitational effects in the Kuiper Belt, and Pluto was downgraded to a Dwarf planet a decade ago. Officially, the solar system only has eight planets at the moment. I see where you're coming from, but it doesn't quite fit the astronomical facts at the moment. Still, a team of Meteor-like Sentai wouldn't be too shabby. :D

In Space is my favorite PR season so hoping this goes well! Hopefully not Fourze though. Well let's enjoy Zyougher for now.

Obviously, I know that Pluto is no longer a planet, scientifically. One would have to be an idiot not to know that. But it's still a planetary body (dwarf planet), and it's still seen as a planet in terms of pop culture, so I stand by my observation. ;)

EDIT: Plus, there's always the sun or the moon that could be part of the "9," as Kain and Matrix pointed out.

Or Ceres, formerly the largest asteroid in the belt.

I'm just saying you're trying to force the planetary/nine angle. I'd argue, too, that Pluto is losing (or beginning to lose) its significance, culturally, as the post-reclassification generation ages up. There are a lot of options available with a space theme. :shrug:

Definitely see this show going back to having collectible trinkets. Ninninger had those and it sorta bombed, so I think Bandai was testing the waters with Zyuohger to see how a series without the more modern collectibles would do and...it's not doing fantastic either. Probably easier to play it safe at this point since there's only been one series with collectibles that didn't perform well.

That said, I can see this taking this back to a more grounded route. The last two toy lines have been "wacky" and experimental and didn't perform great. Would be surprised if this one isn't very grounded and by the books.

A Space Themed Sentai sound like a refresh Sentai show because it's NOT another Dinosaur Sentai or another Ninja Sentai.

This could be a TRUE Sci-Fi Sentai show because Kyoryuger and Zyuohger was a mix of Fantasy and Sci-Fi while ToQger and Ninninger was a Fantasy one with little bit element of sci-fi stuff

maybe their suits be mix of dekaranger / fiveman

We don't have any information so far. We don't even know that Kyu means 9 in this context. So maybe let's not be so rigorous about people's idle speculation. :rolleyes

Here are my speculations:
Depending on the kanji kyu can also mean ball or orb, hence Chikyu meaning Earth.
Planets are round and I have a feeling if the above is what they intend orbs will be the key item. And I will not rule out the possibility if the roster being 9 ultimately yet.We could get a Kyoryuger pulled on us.
