Kamen Rider Ghost Episode 50- "Future! Connected Thoughts!" Discussion
The saga of the Ganma appears to be over. Until a mysterious NEW challenger approaches...
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Very nice episode...
So, this episode about the kid from Ganma World and he steal Genm's Shakariki Sport Gashat. Genm used Gashacon Bugvisor, a powerful gameboy-like knuckle when Genm against Necrom and Specter. Gashacon Bugvisor also can shoot Necrom and Specter. After this battle, Genm escape from Necrom and Specter. Gashacon Bugvisor remind me to Ixa Knuckle. Hmmm...Ghost battle against Bugster Virus when he help Ganma kid.. Ex-Aid also appear and he battle against Bugster Virus. Genm shoot to Gnama Kid, Ghost and Ex-Aid but they attacked by Genm. Genm reclaim his Shakariki Sport Gashat.... So...Makoto, Kanon and Alain back to Ganma World? Maybe this has connection with Specter V-Cinema... in near of end episode, after Ex-Aid jump and breaking brown box, the green coin throwing to Takeru and Takeru catch it. After that, the green coin become Ex-Aid Ghost Eyecon. Thats unexpected :D Snipe, Ex-Aid, Lazer, and Brave looks badass and very cool in darkness.... |

Hmm...it seems Ex-Aid Damashii will be used in upcoming Movie War... |
Not gonna lie, Genmu was amazing in this episode.
And is that a buzzsaw/gun weapon Genmu has? I'm sold. |

Don't tell me those convenient random boxes in the area that give out coins or other videogame powerups are gonna be a staple thing of Ex-Aid.....LULZ

In this episode the brown boxes appeared at near of Bugster Virus. Bugster has plan to turn Earth into video game world. Maybe the brown boxes exist because Earth slowly become video game world.......

My biggest takeaway from this episode was "Why the balls does the Ex-Aid Eyecon have a red iris?"
Like...that should be white. Or orange. Red is...why though? Anyway, found the episode pretty boring aside from the action scenes. Not sure where they're going with the "Takeru's son" plot thread, if they are going anywhere at all. Kind of a really random thing to throw in at the very last second honestly. I kind of want to think they have something planned out involving it for a V-Cinema or maybe the crossover movie, but I kinda doubt it. It's just so random and entirely unexplained though. Also, Ex-Aid's JUICY commercial may just be the best of them all. It sure is something. |

The episode as a whole was almost entirely forgettable. The wrap up for the characters was nice and all, but a lot of it was also just them standing around spitting out vague proclamations instead of actually communicating. Generally felt pretty pointless, and that's before they shoehorned the creepy future kid. The episode did sell me a lot on Ex-Aid, though - he already seems pretty fun and likable as a character, even if the suit is still garbage. |
It was an epilogue Rider crossover like every other, meaning it sucked. Even though it's Ghost, I hate how they don’t give it a proper epilogue. I mean the elements are there, but I feel like it could’ve been a lot better if the random Ex-Aid stuff wouldn’t be in there.
Anyways, Ghost is finally over and that makes me happy. Instead of beating the dead horse once more by saying how shitty the show was for me, I'll end it with something I made weeks ago but felt like it would be best to post it now. It was the most pleasant part about the latter half of Ghost: Meeting someone who actually enjoyed it and fought for it. Here's to you Fish Sandwich, hopefully we stand on the same side for the next year. http://i.imgur.com/IvRRBLA.jpg |
I am remember about very cool Ghost OST in 4 minutes concert video (video about 3 Ghost Eyecon come from space and after that, Ghost appeared stage along with Musashi, Edison and Newton). This OST has very cool guitar music. Sadly, this OST never used in series....

Hahahahaha that's hilarious |
As a whole, there were a lot of pros and cons to Ghost. The one line banter from each character to just wrap things up was pretty lame. And the setup for V Cinemas and future movies was shrug at best. There was also no wrap up for the individual historic eyecons to show what happens to them.
I would have honestly been happy if they ended it at 49. Probably the best thing to say is that it's a Rider show and leave it at that. It's not terrible in the way that Decade was for cohesion. It did not overtake Drive as a better series, and is a far cry from Gaim, W, or OOO in my favorite Rider series. Ex-Aid as a Rider looks dorky. But the actors picked look awesome. How is that even possible? Quote:

Hmm, my final judgement on this episode will come in the form of what happens later in Ex-Aid.
Because Drive's finale honestly feels pointless now that the Newton Eyecon thing was just a throwaway thing and weirdly explained, as well as all the continuity hiccups in Genesis ignoring the setup they were trying to do in Drive's Last Episode. So here's hoping that Movie Wars takes this setup, uses it and gives us something good. |

1. Set-up for the Movie War's plot. 2. Set-up for a V-Cinema that's in the pipeline. 3. Completely random bullshit that will never have any bearing on anything ever. Given this is Ghost, I'm assuming that the correct answer is #3. |
As pointless as this episode was, I have to admit I kinda enjoyed it. Ex-Aid looks like a lot of fun, and with the plot out of the way Ghost's goofiness wasn't all that bad for once. Even the rather bizarre Javel stuff.
Dumb kid plot was dumb, don't honestly expect that to come up again. The Alain/Makoto sendoff was nice though, and it'll be interesting to see where the V-cinema takes things. My favourite part though was the fact they had a plushie Yurusen present at the party :lol |
I enjoyed the Genmu's and Ex-Aid's segment in this episode. Genmu's Bugvisor weapon is so badass, I actually want the toy now. :P
Overall, I didn't really enjoy this episode that much and I found the kid really annoying to be honest. Now onto Ex-Aid next week. |
I thought this episode was just fine, nothing too bad or outstandingly good. So I'm just gonna recap all the things that caught my attention the most this episode.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the kid voice Takeru heard right before he became human in last episode, now has a face. I absolutely love the Genm's fight in this episode. I feel like I'd be genuinely scared of him if he was wearing the Machin Chaser costume from KR Drive. So it's been six months since Takeru died, and he's missed a lot of school. Wait. Has Akari been going to school this whole time? Or did she skip school as well to help Takeru and everybody. What would she even tell everybody to let her do so? Wait, shouldn't they track down Genm before having Makoto, Kanon, and Alain leave for the Gamma World? I really don't think Takeru alone is gonna stop a guy who just beat Alain and Makoto combined. So it really seems like the kid was supposed to be Takeru's son, which is odd since I don't see how a kid raised by Takeru of all people would have such a negative view on life. |

Makes as much sense as taking Freya from the Youtube Series and making her The Great Eye. By setup I mean more so that Ghost and Ex-Aid know about each other, know that Genmu is out there, and the Ex-Aid Eyecon is already formed. |
That was...I don't know. The epilogue stuff felt tacked on as a way to pad out the episode, and the Ex-Aid footage felt the same. I wish it was more like the Drive epilogue, where it actually took place at an unspecified time in the series. That way, it could stand completely on its own.
Ex-Aid looks awesome, I actually love the suit. I just hope that he doesn't jump nearly as much in the series as he does here. |

That being said, while they can and will tone down the jumping, I hope the blocks and coins stick around. |

Rewatching the episode last night, I actually enjoyed it a lot more this time around...at least like, after Prince Takoyaki and his groupies departed. I don't know, maybe it's cause I had it playing at x1.1 speed or something. Ghost can really benefit from going through its self congratulating shit as quickly as possible.
Second half was fun enough though. I honestly think Ayumu's actor was pretty good. Child actors in these shows aren't always the greatest but he did a pretty good job. I'm really hoping they do use this for the Movie War instead of the Final Stage though. If they're doing a bad future type story, Ex-Aid's whole "changing fate" thing would be pretty thematically appropriate. I know they brought it up in this episode too but whatevs. On the other hand I don't know if I want another Movie War with time travel elements after how Genesis turned out... But anyway, action scenes this ep were fun. |
I liked it. It was better than Gaim and Drive's epilogues as it felt like a normal episode of Ghost, unlike Gaim, and not rushed like Drive's. It really drove Ghost's moral home (and I don't like Ghost). They only two things it could fix was it could've felt a lot more powerful if the season was better and I felt for the characters more and the kid's annoying voice. Genmu was very cool and Ex-Aid seems like a likable character so I'm excited for Ex-Aid. This episode was everything Drive's epilogue wanted to be.

Man this was actually really good. If they can make this crossover stuff work like this every year I might start being cool with it. I'm impressed Ghost managed to have a great finale and follow it up with another great finale. There's just so much good stuff here.
It makes Genm's appearance last week less random and stupid in retrospect. It justifies the crossover by having Ex-Aid and Ghost interact in a brief passing the torch moment that perfectly ties into Ghost's themes and still leaves the next Movie War with something to work with, since this was mostly a short tease. I seriously can't get over that. This is about as smoothly incorporated as I think this stuff will ever get. WAY better than how Drive did it by far. They even did a completely justified Inoue *misunderstanding* by having Takeru going off of a pencil sketch of Genm which naturally looks exactly like Ex-Aid without the color. That's honestly kind of amazing, for such a minor plot-point. Also, Alain draws some nice fan-art. :lol So yeah, Ghost is kind of a misunderstood masterpiece in my eyes at this point. Or at least it's pretty good. I find it kind of crazy it's gotten some of the sheer hatred I've seen. The middle-ground that finds it "mediocre" to "meh" I can sort of understand but proper hatred? Surely there are better Rider shows to hate than Ghost. Kiva and Decade are right over there, guys, come on. :p Oh and Ex-Aid looks cool. That theme song is so different and unique. I hope the show follows suit. |
I like Ex-Aid part and the way they tie-in with Specter's Movie and Movie War but it was okay
This kid's acting ability is so Twilight! He was acting like Kristen Stewart and his acting was wooden and emotionless. Toei really need to hired acting coach! I hope Ex-Aid will be 10 times better than Ghost! I need to drain all Ghost's Episode out of my brain! I surprised they didn't have end credits like Drive's Epilogue! What is up with that?! Ex-Aid! Please! Being a good show! :cry |
Well just like practically every other freaking episode of this series I freaking loved this episode. Though I will say that as much as I am sad that Ghost has finished seeing Ex-Aid in this episode and learning what the character stands for makes me Ex-Excited (Extremely Excited lol) for Ex-Aid. Also that he moves like a video game character is awesome. I'm sure he'll take some time to reach that in the series but still it was fun. Genm is very mysterious and intriguing, so I can't wait to learn more about him. Also his weapon being a blast/wrist chainsaw is freaking amazing! I love it so much. Anyways moving beyond my hype for Ex-Aid back to the Ghost parts. I am intrigued with who this kid is and he seems to be from the future and I want to say will probably be setting for the Ghost/Ex-Aid movie which honestly was a really good move to set that up in this special episode because the crossover is planned might as well make this tie-in with it too. I loved the endings for the characters that Akari wants to make sure Science doesn't hurt people, that Javert wants to train with the others and do good with his life, that Alain, Makoto, and Kanon want to help change the Ganma World into a place like Earth, that Edith took over as head priest at the temple, and that Takeru went back to school so he can go enjoy his life now. Though Onari had his fun moment at the end was good too. I really enjoyed that Takeru stood true to his feelings about believing in the connections with people and connecting with their feelings can change the world. I love that he was able to change Ayumu's feelings and turn his thoughts from despair to hope. I think my favorite part was the ending when Takeru talks to the audience and tells everyone to connect their feelings to the future. That was just brilliant, and a perfect ending to this fantastical series that has helped me get through so much and helped me evolve myself too. With that said I am pumped for Ex-Aid!

This was a great finale to a pretty good series. I just want to start off by saying that part with the boy was really confusing. I thought they were going to reveal that he is Takeru's son in the future since he said tousan in his sleep when Takeru held his hand. Seeing Takeru as a human wa interesting. Him going to school, being all dressed up in a suit instead of those hoodies, and feeling more normal for some reason. The Ex-Aid eyecon was interesting. I have a feeling that will return in the movie. Ex-Aid Damashii sounds pretty cool. This was a great epilogue. I'm going to miss Ghost.
