What's your toku toy "Holy Grail"?
 

I'm pretty sure you've all heard this term before in relation to collecting, but I wanted to know what your own personal grails are. I know that Dino and Dragon bucklers are common grails for people, though my own would probably be owning all of the Bakryu (Or Burstosaurs if you prefer) from Abaranger, in addition to every plate and variation they made for the Dino Brace.

(I apologize for the crappiness of my post, I don't usually start threads because I'm crap at them :o )

Mine was the OOO Driver...until I got it :cool: Now it's Medal Set SP, since it's the only set you can't get in Candy Toy Form (Which is the kind I can usually find)

Red Dragon Thunderzord, and Thunderzord Assault Team. Found them at a Library Auction for 25 bucks. As a whole set.

Super Robot Chogokin Gokaioh and Dekaranger Robo, along with the Ranger Key Set SP.

That's a grail? these are all easily obtainable... (I'm selling SRC DekaRobo and Ranger key SP set BTW the SP set is still in Japan though) :D

It use to be SHF NEW Den-O strike form old version, while he was still going for crazy prices.

Probably Engine-Oh G12/RPM Ultrazord, I really wish I was into Power Rangers when RPM was on the air.

I don't really have much of a toku grail right now. My last ones, the Bandai vinyl 8" Power-Up Gigan from Final Wars and the 6" Titanosaurus, were both purchased last year. I'd like to own GMK Baragon again, or finally pick up Orga, but neither are a high-priority.

I think the closest thing I have to a grail right now are the vinyl figures of the first two monsters from Ultraman Max: Grangon and... the blue guy. Lagoras, Lagorath, and a million other variations of his name attached to a very awesome modern kaiju design. After his evolved form, his suit probably got recycled into something in Mebius, who knows. Anyway, these guys.

I bought both of them for less than retail on HLJ when they were new, back in 2005. You can imagine how little I paid! A short time later, I figured I was done with the whole idea of collecting Ultraman toys, keeping only my Nexus monsters and selling almost everything I owned from Max and Mebius, nearly complete sets of both.

Of course years later, Max and Mebius kaiju are nearly impossible to find stateside or cost ridiculous amounts of money when you do find them. These two in particular were among my favorites and have never been reissued. At least Natsunomeryu got reissued, even if it was of poorer quality paint-wise. I will never see these two fellows at retail again.

right now, my grail is a complete set of Ranger Keys where it's comprised of DX and Candy keys. and the right fist for DX DynaRobo

So a "grail" is something you want but can't get? Okay, I'll bite:

Complete Selection Faiz Gear.

I guess mine might just be a Japanese W Driver. Or better yet, the Gaia Memory USB selection thing that came out as a TWE.

No, not the Sochaku Henshin toy, not the Figuarts EX toy, the actual bike. That was used in the show.

A RAH Black would be nice too.

Mine is DX Engine-oh G12 and enough space to display it!

Man, I used to have the Great 5 toy when I was a kid :(

The 4" scale collector in me thinks those vehicles are cool as hell. Very holy grail worthy.



Honestly, I don't have any at the moment that I'd call holy grails. Most of what I can think of is still fairly new. I guess maybe the Ninja Megazord as I missed it, but Megazords aren't a high priority to me (mostly articulation vs price and size).

I had the JAKQ figures and Spade Machine when I was a kid. I always wanted that big Sky Ace though.

The mecha from liveman, so liverobo and Liveboxer. Alas this is pretty unachieveable so I'll go with the Fourze driver too as its been out of stock forever =p

For a long time, it was MMPR 5.5" Eye Guy. But I got him last year!

So now it's the PR:LG "Space Buccaneer," aka Captain Mutiny aka Captain Zahab.

I'd have to go with all the ranger keys. I'd actually enjoy having all of the DX Gokaiger line.

For a long time I really wanted to get my hands on the 12 inch Marmit Gridman, Guyferd, and even Iron King. Ended up getting Gridman and I was less enthused about getting the others. Still regret passing on Iron King when my local import store (Anime King) had him though.

@ShadowRider: How was the quality on those Marmit 12" figures? The kyodai hero releases always intrigued me, but I never got one.

Some of the Imagin Figuarts are up there, but I'm hoping the costumed ones we saw at Tamashii Fest are hints at some sort of reissue.

The material for the costume damages very easily. Which sucks when you have a figure like Gridman that has different armor pieces you have to attach to the figure yourself. Otherwise they're nice enough. A bit outdated perhaps compared to modern 12 inch figures.

For its a 2 parter one i have the other im still seeking, the scyro servo aka thunder gridman(witch i have) and the the drangon thing i forget its name.

just found it on ebay mostly complete but its a good place holder, the part needing replaced i see all the time

Figuarts-wise, I'd probably say Kamen Rider Joker. It used to be Skull, but days after I decided I wanted him I found Skull Crystal at a decent price on eBay.

Otherwise, I'd say a (non-Korean) Double Driver. Or Lost Driver. Either one.
