After a devastating Dethgalien attack, the Zyuohgers receive some very unusual help...

This episode was fine, but I find myself perplexed by the new toys. Like...what exactly was the idea behind making a new toy to use with the first mecha, after the final combination has been achieved? Like, realistically, how much are we even going to see Zyuoh King Octopus? My hope would be never, because I think it's ugly as sin, but I fear they'll have some more contrived circumstances to get them to use it. And it's not even compatible with Wild, so it's just...the most random, overly specialized new thing. It just feels really silly at this point though. Like it would have made more sense to make a new weapon for Wild Tousai Dodeka King. You know...somehow...with its little giraffe/mole arms. Orrrrr, a new cube for....

Zyuoh Bird. Oh Zyuoh Bird. Why. Why is it so ugly. Who thought it'd be a good idea to have the orange Eagle recolor have both gold and blue as secondary colors? I want to like it but it's such a hideously colored suit. I understand why they wouldn't have wanted to just have it all black like the core five, but making the visor/chest print/glove and boot thingies different colors where they're the same on the other Zyuohgers is just a bad move. At best, the gold on the gloves and boots should have been blue as well. But even so, the orange and dark blue really does look like someone just messed around with Zyuoh Eagle's colors with photoshop or something. It just doesn't look good. And there's no Cube Bird to help him, so I guess during mecha fights he's just gonna...sit around? Who knows.

Feel like they should have made Cube Condor orange or Zyuoh Bird purple. Maybe they'd be able to reuse it for the show.

But eh, not that it really matters. Episode really was fine but the new stuff just doesn't please me aesthetically. I'm not a fan of Zyuohger's designs in a general sense, but these are just...gonna take even longer for me to get used to. It's a good thing I like the show as much as I do.

So address some positives first. I really liked the interactions between Yamato and Misao. Yamato as a character works really well in quiet human moments, as does Misao when he isn't being used as a joke. Loved the talk between them.

Good stuff with Bard's character, still interested to know more about it. I think they're taking too long with too little information, but it looks like things are finally starting to unfold.
Also enjoyed the MOW, they were ridiculously 90s and I loved it.

Things I didn't like; Octopus. I mean bloody hell we're nearly at the end of the series and they're still introducing toys? This should have been waaaay earlier in the series and certainly before whale.

Then we have Zyuoh Bird. See above. I'm all for Orange rangers but I gotta say I'm not a fan of the design. Even if it does make a degree of sense, the fact it's a repaint doesn't help as it just looks like a heavily sun damaged Zyuoh Eagle.
I really do not understand why they're still introducing stuff now of all times. Well I do, it's to tell toys, but this is ludicrous. These shows have always been to sell toys, but Zyuohger has been quite something. I'd honestly go as far to say it's problematic and cynical in some regards.

Still, this was a fine episode, it was enjoyable. But I really hope next episode gets things moving a lot more, and hopefully they'll be able to do some good character stuff with Bard.

Eh, Zyuoh Bird appearing so late in the game is no different to Kamen Rider introducing repaint/retool suits at the last minute. Personally I think it adds a little more if there's still something to be revealed in the end game, otherwise you hit episode 35 and think "whelp, that's it then". It'd be different if introducing new things at this point was halting the story in any way, but going by this episode alone that seems to be the opposite its doing.

The episode was interesting, but god, Zyuoh Bird's colours don't mesh. And I like Ex-Aid's pink and green!

I honestly think the way they did Zyuoh Bird was extremely lazy. All they did was give him the same outfit as Zyouh Eagle and make it orange. Yes he's an avian, but did they have to use an eagle? There are so many other birds of prey. He could have had an osprey or a falcon.
Altho I like how there's secrets that even Trunk doesn't know about.

It makes sense as he's the one who gave Yamato his Zyuman powers in the first place

But couldn't they have gone something a little different to make him stand out? I'm almost reminded of Ninninger when all 3 go AkaNinger

Exactly. It would be weird if Yamato got his powers from an Eagle Zyuman and then the Zyuman himself was a completely different type of bird transformed.

Episode was ok. The new mecha is pointless and i wouldn't be surprised if they doesn't use it that much in the serie, the monsters are annoying but i like what they did with Misao.

Is it just me, or does Bird-man look like Kusaka? I could be wrong, but I was surprised when I found out the actors for Zangetsu and Nazca were brothers so...

Yeah, its the same actor.

It sucks that we didn't get ZyuohBird's fight scene but still that transformation was amazing. I love that transformation sound.

Was an alright episode. I enjoyed Misao and Yamato's talk. It was nice, and Misao wasn't used for a punchline. I also loved Misao getting to use his super strength a bit.
We finally get a little bit on Bard, but still not much. Next episode seems to be tackling that. They certainly took their sweet time to get to it...Oh well. Zyuoh Bird is neat. I don't hate his colors. Orange and blue make a nice contrast.
The monster was neat. I could barely stand him, though. How embarrassing that this is the one that managed to beat him.

Cube Octopus seems like a pointless last minute addition. I reckon it'll go the way of Gosei Brother and just never appear again beyond one more token fight :p

I liked the episode. Misao was really cool and the monster of the week was so...90s. I'm really interested in seeing where they go with Zyuoh Bird. I wonder if he'll join the rangers in battle regularly from now on or if they'll find some reason to ship him off somewhere for the next 10 episodes till the finale. I believe Go Onger is the only season to have 7 rangers in battle on a regularly.

How many episodes left until this pathetic farce of an anniversary Sentai series is over and KyuRanger begins?!

The kicker is that he's not even watching it (Something he's admitted to multiple times). He's just being a gigantic ass to troll.

Well unlike everyone else here (apparently) I totally enjoyed seeing Cube Octopus, if only because it meant Zyuoh King got some love for the first time since like, way too long. As for Zyuoh Bird, I understand how the colors are a little garish, but I think it works in a weird way. And unlike Cube Octopus, he's clearly not just there to sell toys. Like, I'd believe it if you told me he wasn't even Bandai's idea, and that's part of the reason he's just a low budget recolor. Anyway, obligatory disconnected thoughts time:

- Leo is awesome. I'm kind of amazed how much I've come around to him at this point. Everything he says and does this episode is gold.

- Good character-building stuff with Misao and Yamato, though part of me feels it's just the same routine again and again. I find Misao funny and all, but given how close we are to the end I sort of wish his fits of self-loathing were noticeably toned down/less frequent by now. You know, like an arc or something?

- Speaking of arcs, when was the last time we saw Bird Dude? I don't think it was actually that long ago but it feels like forever week by week. Wonder if he hangs out with Javert from Kamen Rider Ghost off-screen? :p

- Also, still seriously glad Bunglay's gone. For some reason I feel the bad guys have a better rhythm without him around, even if they're still largely just standing around letting random monsters (fail to) do all the work.

- On that note, the MotW this episode was hilarious.

Hello I am new here been silent reader for while i enjoy both super sentai and kamen rider, I want to comment for this episodes and series so far
-Okay first the thing i like for zyuohnger they set a good character in my opinion its better than last season
-Second sadly this is followed by bad writing honestly first ish episode wave have good writing but i don't know now i feel the episodes just drag their feet much like *ahem* ghost now

now for episodes it self well i feel like everyone the mecha is kinda random and pointless the monster too is random i mean it would be nice if zyuoh bard was debuted on bunglay arc?
i mean we see bard can take on zyuohnger why he nerfed to the point that can't take on monster which ability revolve around jump rope, this just confused me its like the writer is forgot his abilities at some point, i wish he debuted at more critical moment like when yamato kidnapped by bunglay, or at least when one of main villain shows, in my opinion debuted in episodes and this kind of monster kinda weak to me.

No, I know, that's why I said that. While a hyperbolic statement, it'd be fine for someone to say that if they had actually seen the show and that's how they honestly felt. Knowing that they haven't bothered to do that means they don't have any right to say that, so...well, yeah.

It's a baffling thing to do honestly. I don't even like the designs in this show very much, but that's an entirely different thing from liking the show itself. 's incomprehensible.
