HA! If I'm remembering my episode order correctly, we definitely get that answer during this stretch.

This was a good stretch. After the ridiculousness of the Megumi and arranged marriage episodes I was happy to get back to the normal theme of the show. The Ouja 2-parter isn't my favorite set of episodes featuring him but it's a welcome change. Seeing Ryuki get the survive card as well was awesome. I love that Kanzaki just sort of passes them out for the heck of it. Hey, you look weak and don't want to fight, take this power up :lol

There's actually a pretty twisted but brilliant logic to it. Kanzaki's assumption is that Shinji and Tezuka didn't want to fight because they thought they were too weak. So he assumes that by giving them the Survive cards, they'll feel stronger and go out and start killing. It never dawns on him that Shinji and Tezuka just don't want people to kill each other. And that kind of makes sense, given that they were the two guys who were never meant to be in the Rider War in the first place.

Yeah, that's the great thing about it. Just shows you how detached Kanzaki's brain is from reality. Or maybe he just didn't give a damn because he has Odin in his corner.

I always wondered why the battle was actually necessary when he could just pass out the 13 decks to whoever, then immediately use Odin to destroy each and every one of them. 2 episode series, battle over, Yui gets a new life. In the end we saw that Knight was utterly outgunned and outclassed against Odin. He only won because Kanzaki gave up the battle at Yui's request. Odin could have finished the battle before it even began.

I never really got that either, but Episode Final had a decent explanation. I forget exactly what it was, but it had to do with defeating the Riders at their strongest for the most power.

I still can't stand Episode Final honestly. That just felt like a train wreck. I'd gladly take the last episodes of the series over that anytime. I appreciate it fleshing things out just a little bit but I had ambiguous endings like that.

You were right. Ryuki getting Survive was incredibly underwhelming.

That makes sense.

Given Ryuki's nature, the ending isn't really ambiguous when you think about it. Considering the series was the last loop in the Groundhog Day Kanzaki has going, it seemed obvious to me that was just another failed timeline, despite the title.

I know it's a failed timeline I just felt that it was unnecessary to even show it to us. I have the same qualms with the 13 Riders Special. A fun enough story but ridiculous overall. I only really appreciate the end with Shinji becoming Knight. That really was amazing to see and it was a nice contrast to the actual series ending. We get 3 balanced endings, one for each of the main characters seperately and then one for the 2 of them together.

-Series Shinji dies, Ren Survives and wins.
-Episode Final Shinji and Ren both survive and head out into an unsure final battle.
-13 Riders Ren dies and Shinji contiues the fight in his stead

Still think I like the actual series ending the best of all of them though but there's time for discussion of that in a few more weeks.

Yeah, the series ending is the best IMO, but as you say, we've got a few weeks before we get into that.

I thought Ryuki's Survive suit was underwhelming, I was expecting total bad assery like how Kamen Rider Knight Survive looked. The new music once Ryuki got the Survive armor on was cool though.

Kamen Rider Tiger is bad ass. He seems like he can kill Ouja fairly easily, however Asakura has been tricky, as he showed by retrieving Metalgelas' card while his deck was handed over.

Goura singing with Megumi and Nanako was hilarious. Kitaoka couldn't stand it.

After seeing 35... I suddenly like the Survive suits a lot more. ._.
