Super Minipla Daizyujin New Images Released
 

So Bandai's finally released some more images of the Super Minipla Daizyujin's grey prototype, we have our first look at what the individual Guardian Beasts will look like

Will be released March 2017.

It looks pretty great! The super mini-pla line is so frustrating though, things sell out so quickly (not unlike SHF occasionally), and most recently GaoGaiGar was put up for sale randomly as far as I know only while he had his grey prototype images like Daizyujin here. I don't get the way Bandai does its preorders. Why have a set amount of stock allocated? If more people want to place orders why not just make more before manufacturing starts? GSC's preorders somehow manage to stay open for a long time so I'm not sure why they shouldn't be similar.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'll miss the pre-orders for this when they finally open.

How big are these and are they painted?

Minipla's usually around six inches, so roughly around the size of a Deluxe Transformer or 1/144 Scale gunpla.

They'll be painted, though there's gonna be a lot of stickers. Here's a review of Xabungle to give you a good idea of what to expect:

Looks pretty nice

Looks great, I love the ever so slightly chubified proportions on everything. Reminds me of the original toy but better proportioned and articulated. I only wish the Sabertooth Tiger Zord's legs were articulated, though given the scale they'd likely be more finnicky and annoying than useful for posing. (if this is standard HG size)

I check HLJ every day for preorders. I really, really don't want to miss it like I did GaoGaiGar.

Looking at the pics, if you pay close attention to the texture of the parts like the chest and shoulders, (as well as the visible pegs inside the shoulderpads) a lot of the main patterns will be handled by parts seperation, so hopefully stickers will just be relegated to the eyes and such smaller details.

I can see the legs having minor articulation just due to manner of the transformation.

Just looking at the photos, it seems like alot of the detail's gonna be etched into the plastic so painting it shouldn't be a problem for people that want too.

Oh, okay, I used to have Magiking and Wolzard's mech form for those. Wasn't a fan of them. Thanks for the info.

I don't believe Super Mini-pla ever did those. You might be thinking of just normal Mini-pla, which are much smaller and simpler.

The one thing I really don't like about this set is that the T-rex's mouth doesn't look like it opens.

Yeah, even by mainline minipla standards Magiking and Wolzard are super dated by now as they both came before Bandai started implementing articulation into the models.

Yup. Minipla quality keeps improving every year.

Where can you buy Super Minipla?

These guys will pop up on Amiami first it seems.
Even if you're solely HLJ you can gauge the pre-order window better if Amiami has it up.

They've all been pretty much in this price range. Daizyujin's a little more because he has more parts, but nothing especially drastic.

Comparing GaoGaiGar between HLJ and Ami Ami, I assume Daizyujin will eb a bit cheaper there so eh I'll live with it.

I think what gets me is the relative simplicity of the zords themselves. Really the T-rex's mouth not opening.

Oooh, looking great! I'm excited to see how much colour separation there is in the final model and how much paint/stickers it will need to look accurate.

I can't believe it's already sold out on HLJ. Thankfully, I managed to get the order in on AmiAmi.

And there goes my paycheck with import taxes! :(

Will the Triceratops and Saber-Toothed Tiger have wheels?

GaoGaiGar had excellent parts seperation, so hopefully the Megazord has minimal stickers.

I'm waiting for coloured pics that aren't painted like these, but I will say it looks great.

For those curious how this compares with the SRC. Pics not mine though. Still waiting for amiami to ship...
