Kamen Rider Ryuki Toys - What's out there?
 

Alright so I know of the following toys(*please disregard the Bandai America Kamen Rider Dragon Knight toys for this thread, I'm not interested*) for Ryuki:

• SH Figuarts
• Figma
• SIC
• SIC Kiwamii Tamashii

What else is there? I did see an image of a Zolda figure with a tiny head and removable helmet(haha, ironic for such a egotistical character), with removable magna cannons and it looked like the armor was removable. One time I saw a Mirror World monster or contract monster set too.

SH Figuarts seem to be the best at this point. Are the only ones out so far these ones?:

• Gai

souchaku henshin. its wat was standard before figuarts. but also for ryuki they had a line called R&M (rider and monster)

That Zolda you were talking about is the Souchaku Henshin Zolda from their Ryuki line. There's also the R&M(Rider & Monster) line, which debuted along side Ryuki in 2002.

the Zolda with removable armor is form Souchaku Henshin line and the monsters set are from Armour Trans Mirror Monsters series

The contract monster sets you mentioned were probably from the R&M line that people mentioned before. Here are a few pictures:

Medicom released a BM of Ryuki and Knight, which I beleived the Figmas were based on.

What aree the differences between Soucchaku Henshin and Rider/Monster lines? Also re there armour trns ryuki figures?

I believe the R&Ms and Souchaku Henshins are exactly the same.

I have the R&M Knight. He's pretty good for a 2002 toy. A lot like the current main line (Like the Combo and Form Change lines). Thought about selling him since I have 5 of this guy already (including the KT that's in the mail). What can I say, I like the mix of knight and bat motifs. They work so well with each other. Ironically, I still don't have the Figuarts.

No, Souchaku Henshin had removable armor and the actors' tiny little heads under the helmets.

And slightly better articulation if I'm not mistaken.

Unfortunately the heads look nothing like the actors. And they are usually recycled for different characters.

Seeing as they are pin heads, I don't think it really matters. They're ugly to look at either way.

That's an expected compromise for a mass market line, disappointing yes, but it does add to playability. At least for me it does.

What is the twist action line? Also do you guys like the rider and monster line over souchaku henshin? What are the best qualities and worst?

I suppose getting into Ryuki NOW worked out in my favor since Ryuki releases are rolling out in the SH Figuarts line. It seems like right now, the SH Figuarts are the best Ryuki figures to get.

No experience with Ryuki toys, but I can at least tell you that TAF isn't really worth it. They came out at a time when SH Figuarts was still new, if I'm not mistaken, so there wasn't exactly the same standard of quality. They're essentially tiny versions of the PBM and Medicom figures in that they're a rubbery body over an articulated skeleton. The rubber didn't work so well though, seeing as it bunches up at the joints and runs the risk of tearing if held in a pose for an extended period of time. I've also heard that they've got balance issues, due to the feet being poorly constructed and the skeleton having odd distribution of weight. They're dirt cheap on HLJ right now, if you want to give it a shot anyways.

The R&M and Souchaku Henshin look appealing.

It looks ilke the R&M line never had a transforming Dark Wing for Knight Survive nor a transforming Drag Redder for Ryuki Survive.

I am worried that TamashiiWeb will have SH Figuarts Survive forms as exclusives. Knight Survive is AWESOME.

Just saw R&M Ryuki and Knight for about 10$ each in Hong Kong...

Figuarts haven't released Gai or Tiger yet, but they're due next. Gai should be out in the next few days and Tiger is sometime next month. They're also starting to release the contract monsters. Magunagiga is September and Genocider will be December. They'll put the R&M versions to shame, if you don't mind waiting for them all to be released (and paying a premium for them all).

Given the track record for secondary Riders, Knight Survive will probably be a TWE. Ryuki Survive will probably be mass release since it's a main Rider super mode.

Yeah, Knight is way too popular for them to pass up the mass release.

i dunno why bit i know kamen rider ryuki but i never saw the show main rider being ryuki due to if i remeber correctly it was Ren/knight who we saw frist in the first episode as a rider and he was the last rider to win the war and fight the thing and made his dream come true due to ryuki felt to me as the 2ndary rider

plus to be frank...it looks much better...

I think we could tone down the spoilers a bit in some of these discussions, at least use spoiler tags. It's an old show, but not everyone has seen it, especially when the only subs available are the highly questionable TV-Nihon versions.

But Ryuki was still very much the main character, even although he wasn't the first Rider, the story was all about his journey (and eventual sacrifice). Ren did play an important part in the finale, but for most of the series he did little but brood. I loved the fact the show was about multiple characters and Riders, but Ryuki was definitely the focus through-out.

It's a shame that the Kiwami Tamashii Ryuki and Knight lack compatible contract monsters. Dragredder rules!

Best you can do there is use the Dragon Knight contract monsters. I plan to repaint my Black Wing to match my KT Knight when it arrives (also gonna make him a cape that I can attach the bat's head to).

PS DK Black Wing is pretty much a scaled down R&M Black Wing with no functions removed, unlike the others.

Thanks for the advice, however I am skipping all of the Bandai America releases in favor of the Japanese releases. I did see some Rider Knight stuff on Amazon but it didn't look appealing. The paint on the Japanese toys looks better.

One of the thing's I always wanted to try and hunt down was an old Japanese Drag Visor. It'd probably be the first and only Role-Playing toy I'd try to get my hands on. Bandai Premium just announced the entire Card set for sale sometime in November. For its price...
