More SH Figuarts in U.S. at Toys R Us (Hoax)
 

It looks like the U.S. offerings of SH Figuarts isn't limited to Shinken Red and Shinken Gold. I found this Masked Rider Gills at the Monrovia Toys R Us this morning. Rang up for $34.99. I wonder what else is coming our way!

That's a pretty strange choice. Why Gills, of all characters?

Nevertheless, I'm glad that there are more Figuarts coming to the USA.

There is a chance that its just a figuart someone returned to swap for a shinkenger figuart, what did the receipt say for it?

I don't believe this. I just can't bring myself to . Could you post a photo of the receipt?

I'm skeptical too. Something about that photo doesn't seem right to me.

I'm also extremely skeptical. Need to see receipt proof to believe this. It's just so random. I could potentially believe Rider Figuarts at TRU. Really, I could. But Gills? It would have to be a character more currently relevant in some fashion than Gills.

Right, like the Ryuki Figuarts for Dragon Knight, or even Decade, if they intend to use his crossover footage from Shinkenger.

Seeing as Bluefin hasn't mentioned any SH Figuarts coming to stores other than Shinken Read and Gold, I doubt this is real. If it were, we'd get some sort of announcement on their Facebook page.

Box looks like there's damage, similar to the kind you'd see on a pre-owned one. I think this was just "returned" to the store after the person bought a Shinken-Red or Gold. I'll just stick to Anime Jungle and Mitsuwa for my Figuarts needs, thank you very much

Box shows signs of having been opened. Picture lacks receipt, lacks showing price tags for items on the shelf...

This is the bottom of the box. There is no way this label was removed and put on this box without tearing it. I tried to pull it off and it can't be done without completely ripping it apart. Also, a pic of my receipt.

Says Shinkenger on your receipt, so the sticker probably was pulled off and placed on. Believe me, that can happen with a lot of patience. Plus, it looks like it was placed on poorly and it says Power Rangers on it

I really wanted to believe this was happening. I'd like to be able to get more Figuarts. I'll wait to see what Bluefin does later on.

If you weren't the one that did it as a hoax, then someone else returned something they don't want to get a free Shinkenger figure basically. Either way TRU made their money back so, it's all good. But in the end I guess there are still no new Figuarts available in the US mass market.

Yeah man, pretty obviously a hoax. If the Saban Brands and Power Rangers text on the bottom of the box didn't give it away, then the utter lunacy of a random character like Gills being out in the US should have. It's fake dude. Someone just taped the bottom of a Shinkenger box to the bottom of a Gills box and returned it. A Kamen Rider is not going to ring up as a Shinkenger.

Compared the bottom of the box to my Shinken Gold from Toys'R'Us - same UPC, same stickers, etc.

I do it all the time...just by using a hair dryer with hot air to melt the glue then slowly pull the sticker off with a ctter

Well, I guess the jury is in, but for the record, my story is 100% accurate and true. I don't bs around like this and anyone that knows me at TFW2005 will vouch for my credibility. As for being duped - that's definitely not the case. I imagine it would cost me more (including shipping) to get this anywhere else, and if nothing, I have 90 days to return it - which I'm not going to do.

Mandarake has that figure listed between 1,000 yen and 1,500 yen, and with SAL shipping, at the lowest you're looking at $20 for the figure, so if someone is sick of the figure, and swapped it with a $34+ figure from TRU, that's saving money right there. Not saying you had anything to do with it in terms of the hoax, just that this doesn't exhibit any signs that it's a legit release in the US.

Even with Gills going for a deep discount at some places, given the current state of the exchange rate when you take into account shipping and handling fees, I don't think Silvershot really overpaid that much for that figure.

I want to say we aren't trying to doubt your credibility, but we're just trying to explain how this possibly happened. If this was officially released it would be big news so we are all trying to just make sure before we go crazy over it. Again, nobody is mad at you, we believe you found it at a TRU, we were just trying to figure out how it happened :)

My apologies! After years of doing this (news, rumors, etc.) there's been a lot of individuals over time who try to do nothing more than create false news. But I did not mean to direct any hostility towards you.

Either way ... anytime you get SH Figuarts at Toys'R'Us for $35, return fraud or not, it's a good day!

Or if your near the LA area, go to Anime Jungle ^_^. I got my Core Medals there, and they have plenty of Figuarts. They just recently got the first 3 Gokaiger

Hey, I know that - I deal with a lot of you guys over at TFW, so I know what you are all about - I just wanted to be clear that since this is a hoax, I didn't start it - I was just reporting what I legitimately thought was news. I remember this happening with a late wave Transformer very recently - maybe Windcharger. Anyhow, no hard feelings taken - and I got an awesome Gills!!

I think they can be a bit pricey though - you ever hit up Frank & Son? They have a bunch of different dealers that have Figuarts, SIC, SRC, etc . .

Just for pure sake of saying.....I hate living on the east coast.lol.we got no stores like the west coast does.Yes,i am jealous.lol
