So what TV shows from your childhood has hold up and has not hold up very well to you? Here is my list.

Aged Well:

Digimon (The dub has not aged well. The show is more enjoyable in Japanese)

Simpsons Season 1-12 (Seasons 1-10 of The Simpsons are pretty much timeless. Season 11 and 12 still have great episodes as well)

...Fuck it, basically every live action Nick show (Aside from a couple decent ones)

I'd say 80's TV sucked almost across the board until three things happened:

1) American cartoon companies started importing Japanese designers for action cartoons

2) Fox network started producing "anti" sitcoms like Simpsons, Married with Children etc. and better produced genre fare such as Friday the 13th (sort of a "proto-X-Files")

3) Ren & Stimpy save the funny cartoon from the depths of Hannah Barbaric and others non-stop crapfest of artless toy shilling and video game garbage.

I worked at a place here in Atlanta back in the late 90's and we had hundreds of cells from all of these HB "classics", painted for peanuts by South Korean factory drones. They looked like they were painted blind folded! Just awful stuff.

While the 90's still had some real junk, by and large things were far more entertaining than in the 80's. I know a lot of Millennials seem to love the 80's but, trust me, they were terrible.

I was never big into a lot of 80's stuff. Helps that I was born in the 90's~

Oh yeah, slap Spider-Man under my list of shows that didn't age well.

I generally think any sitcom the Disney Channel made in the 2000's wasn't good at all after thinking back on them. The closest I could think of becoming half decent was Zack and Cody maybe because they had to stop relying on the twin gimmick the show originally started with as the boys got older and the writing probably got a bit better as a result.

Cartoon Network live action was pretty eh. I kinda liked Destroy Build Destroy, for its interesting premise but I don't remember the specific challenges in that show being all that good at all.

Nick live action was about the same as Cartoon Network's. But they had Drake and Josh, which looking back on, is actually kinda good for how surreal and absurd the show is while being self aware of it. Seriously, one of the episode plots is Josh running over Oprah, how weird is that?

Probably the cartoons hold up the best. Stuff like Teen Titans, Kim Possible, Avatar and early Spongebob are shining examples of good things I remember from that era that I think would still be considered definitivly good now by a lot of people. Other stuff like Kids Next Door, Danny Phantom and Jimmy Neutron I remember being good but I'd have to look into those again to see if I'm right.

Pretty much every cartoon from the early and mid 80's

I was too old when the any sitcom on Disney Channel since they came out when I was losing interest in those type of shows. I also in High School when the Hannah Montana boom from 2006-2009.

90% of the 80's cartoons are made to sell toys. The only 80's cartoon that I seen that holds up well to me is Inhumanoids, The Real Ghostbusters and Inspector Gadget (Not a amazing show. I still find it funny). TMNT is still okay, but I do think the other shows are better.

Most of the shows you listed there are still pretty good, but Jimmy Neutron definitely didn't age well, I feel. Unless you love memes, it's a lot harder to sit through than when I was younger.

People whom complain about current PR being too cringe worthy REALLY didn't try to watch old school power rangers

Well, the cringiest thing about old school PR was Alpha 6, to be honest. Other than that, it was more super cheesy than cringe worthy.

Jimmy Neutron was one of those shows you watch it because it was on and that was it. I think the show is mediocre and the movie did well because Nick really market that movie all over the place. It did had it's moments, but the CG does show it's age (early-mid 2000's).

CN and Nick have plenty of shows from the 90-00's that most people don't remember and only watched because it was on.
Stuff like Whatever Happened to Robot Jones, As Told By Ginger, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, the later seasons of PPG and Dexter's Lab, Cow and Chicken, Chalkzone, The X's, Time Squad etc.
(I'd like to say that I loved WHT Robot Jones, Time Squad, and Chalkzone, but I can't remember if they were actually good :lol)

I think G1Transformers aged pretty well. I enjoy it every day. I DVR it on Discovery Family. XD Yes, there are the obvious animation flaws, but it's still good to watch. I thoroughly enjoy it. :lol

I feel like compare to the later TF shows, I feel like G1 is not that good. It's not the worst TF show, but I don't think nowhere as great as most fanboys make it out to be. I feel like the 1986 movie is still pretty good though.

G1 is the MMPR of Transformers.

Still it,GI Joe and Jem were way better than most kids shows of the 80s imo so I'd say it has aged well considering.

Megas XRL still holds up to me despite me being a teenager when it came out. I still find Space Ghost Coast to Coast to be awesome even though some of the jokes are bit dated.

Megas XLR is still pretty good, I'd say.

I decided to rewatch old episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters and the anime has not aged that well. I was 11 when Yu-Gi-Oh was big in the early 2000's, so the series came out during the end of my childhood and I do have nostalgia to it to a certain degree.

I feel like Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters has a lot of filler and way too many two or three parted episodes. The episode of Kiba's Blue Eyes White Dragon could have been done better in a shorter amount of time and not a three part episode. Not to mention the dub is pretty bad and the animation is not even that great by early 2000's standers. I feel like the Yu-Gi-Oh manga holds up better in my opinion.

Reboot is a show that's aged very well, there's a lot of adult humour and sci fi references that I didn't catch when I watched it at that age.

Two shows that when I saw them again a few years ago they were still good now lets see if any of you still remember them. Two Stupid Dogs and Swat Kats.

Can we put anime on here if they aired on tv when we were kids? If so then another still good one is G Gundam though I still do not like the final episode. FUCK YOU POWER OF LOVE!

I have no knowledge of the dumb canines, but Swat Kats is still the shit, and am still waiting for that reboot. Hopefully it'll be on Netflix, which I'm going to champion as the superior method of watching just about anything.

Swat Kats is pretty good and actually really popular with quite a fan following. It's one of the 90's cartoons that, along with Gargoyles, fans clamor for a remake/continuation of.

I can't remember if its different for me now but around 2009 I watched an episode of the CG sequel to Voltron and did not care for it. Another show that still holds up is Cyber Six. Hmmm I wonder . . .

I try to rewatch the original Pokemon episodes before the Johto stars. While the show is not terrible, but I do think the show is not that great. The show does get pretty repetitive at times. I think some of the Pokemon movies and anime specials are better. People talk about how the Pokemon anime went downhill after Johto, but I don't think the original TV series was that great. Nostalgia can last for a certain amount of time before it goes away.

Digimon on the other hand is still a fun show. It's not perfect or great by all means, but I do think the show is a lot of fun. The dub for Season 1 is pretty bad, but I don't mind voices for the characters expect for a few . If Season 1 had a more faithful dub with no Americanizing (No music changes, corny jokes and bad dialogue), it could have been a great dub.

This is why I say Digimon is better than Pokemon.

I see why not? I still love G Gundam, but I feel like it holds up better subbed than dubbed. I like G Gundam for being fun and not taking itself too seriously.

Well Digimon didn't age very well either.

Granted it aged better than Pokemon did but still it didn't age very well.

I think Digimon Season 1 hold up better than the original Pokemon (Pre-Johto) did because at least Digimon has different villains and the villains are a bigger threat. Pokemon never had major threats to the Planet expect in the movies back then.
