Does Ultraman Cosmos have complete english subtitles?

Not really. Unless you count HK subtitles.

I was afraid of that. I saw some results come up when I did an internet search but I was sure if they were real or not. How bad are they?

IIRC, they are pretty bad. They aren't quite incomprehensible but the translations are still very awkwardly worded.

Darn, and I was really hoping to watch that show.

The way things are going it probably be a good bet that crunchyroll will get it sooner or later.

I really hope they do. I've seen just over half of Cosmos using those crappy HK subs (and they ARE crappy), and I really enjoyed it, despite never getting around to watching the rest.

Part of it may be that it helped me sharpen my Japanese a bit (I tended to just pretend the subs weren't there most of the time), but I think it's a really charming show.

Its getting harder and harder to wait for the Crunchy Roll subs that may or may not come. I have about twenty or so episodes of Tiga left and I might just bit the bullet and try and watch the HK subs.

Fortunately for me, the only shows I have watched on Crunchyroll thus far are X and Orb, so it's going to be a while before I run out of their material. I wish Funimation would rerelease Tiga.

Tiga was licensed by 4kids, I remember Funimation co-licensed 4kids shows on DVD in the early-mid 2000's like Yu-Gi-Oh, Shaman King and Ultraman Tiga on DVD.

Unfortunately, its not because I'm running out of material. I have plenty of other Tokusatsu to watch, Ultraman or otherwise, I've just been watching quite a few Ultraman movies recently and, while I've only seen bit and pieces of them, I'm really interested learning more about Musashi and Cosmos. That and I'm interested in his unique "fighting" style. I like the idea of a peaceful warrior who mostly saves monsters rather then destroy them.

The HK subs are a little inaccurate actually. In one of the first episodes, they translated "hikari no virus" as "flower virus". Almost every Ultra series fan would know that "hikari" means "light".

Also, a good start would be if someone would post raws for Cosmos. The only one on Nyaa is dead.

Wow that's bad. Even without hearing that though, I really should just be patient wait for a proper translation. Its not like I don't have a backlog of shows I've been meaning to watch, not to mention shows that I should rewatch. I was going to watch Dyna after Tiga but, ya know, the lack of a full season translation. That one hit me hard, since I was getting super pumped to watch that show and Dyna's main character is another character that I was excited see in his own show. I'll probably watch Max next. I've heard good things about that show.

TokuHD has them. Y'know the shady streaming service that gave us those half assed Agito and Gridman subs.

So not great but it still watchable. Just be prepared for the occasional weird and stiff sentences and grammer misktakes.

Oh, wonderful, the... the worst subs I've ever seen in my life, huh...? Was this one of their better projects?

I've heard people say it not as bad as thier Mirrorman subs?

At the rate they're going, I'd expect Mill Creek to have a Cosmos set out sometime next year.

I've actually managed to find a sub by DodgyTOKU; are they known to be alright?

I'm pretty sure there the exact same subs as TokuHD. The person just ripped the subs like what they did with Orb.

From the bits I saw from them it's the best option for now. Not as bad as Return of Ultraman subs.
