Kamen Rider Brave & Snipe Spinoffs Announced
 

Snipe's "Episode 0" will be released on the second Ex-Aid Blu-Ray set & will apparently follow the events of Zero Day when the Bugsters first appeared.

Brave's will be part of the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club channel, and feature the return of Takeshi Asakura- Kamen Rider Ohja!

If I am not wrong, Ouja is one of Toshiki Seto's favorite Rider.

Brave's spinoffs also has Dark Kiva, Sasword, Tiger and Beast (not info about the actor's return though). Why is Beast there though is the question. Asakura offers him mayonaise?

Oh...well, since I see in the official ad thing, Hiro is holding the Drago Hunter Z Gashat, so maybe we'll finally see Brave LvL 5: Full Dragon. Also, I personally think that it's nice that this year's movies and specials have brought back a lot of actors! Still, I'm glad that they (at least Ouja) aren't just clones. I hate it whenever they do the whole "Embodiment of their power" shit because it makes no sense to have the power act on it's own. Also, most of the time, Riders and Ranger cameos are left for Stage Shows, so it's nice that they're being included in proper here and not on just some Hyper Battle DVD!

I am so confused by Beast being there, and Dark Kiva too since 2/3 users were heroic, but yeah Beast is an odd one.

Nothing about this makes any damn sense to me.

I only care about this because I want to know what Beast is doing there.

This is so random but I love it! My question is how? Didn't the Ryuki timeline get reset so he would be able to transform? Even if that didn't happen, isn't he dead?

Well except for Beast and Brave, the others Riders were either a villain or anti-villain throughout the run of or at some point within their respective series. So Dark Kiva is most likely a resurrected King/Bat Fangire, but why he's using Kiva's Zanzat Sword is confusing. King did have the Zanzat Sword but it lacked the Zanzat Bat attachment and never used it as Dark Kiva.

Apart from that, it'll be interesting to see this.

Continuity and Kamen Rider aren't really the best of friends (depending on which series and/or era). Since Decade (not counting the A.R. World Ryuki and its Riders) Ryuki's continuity has been seemingly retconned for unexplained reasons or just forgotten entirely. Although it's very unlikely, I kinda hope that this special explains how the riders from Ryuki still have their powers despite the whole timeline reset.

I wonder if we'll get an Ouja Survive form out of this.

Although, yes, Ryuki's continuity is totally fucked. I always headcanon'd that the Ryuki that shows up during crossover events is actually the one from the movie and not the show (that at least has some continuity with Agito), but that still doesn't explain how Ouja is alive.

Don't hold your breath for an explanation. Beast et al. are probably just going to be ghost suits.

Toei never gives a wet fart about continuity, from what I've seen (sometimes within a series). I mean "scalpel of justice"? Not even that works.

Watch it, enjoy Takashi Hagino's nonsensical return as Asakura (looking really messed up). Enjoy the suits coming out of the mothballs one more time, the suit actors getting another much needed paycheck.

Brave looks pretty nonsensical but it looks fun, I suppose.

Snipe will probably be interesting. I do wonder how they're gonna do it though, I can't imagine they'll make a new suit just for the Blue-Ray specials, and Snipe looked different five years ago. Unless the title is misleading and it's not gonna be about that stuff...

and now we have Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Kamen Rider Genm, Kamen Rider Brave and Kamen Rider Snipe....

They should make a Kamen Rider Lazer where Kiriya gets to hang out with other unjustly murdered Riders or something.

Betting its a game creation by the Bugsters. Similar to what they did with Baron in that Gaim and Drive Taisen movie.

I think because he's animal based, while Brave is a knight, so...hunting them down? He does have the Drago Knight Hunter gashat on hand.

Yeah, I was wondering as well how the hell is he here. Granted, I'll admit it took me a minute to remember 'Oh right, didn't he die in the main timeline before it reset? There's a whole carnival of questions on how he's here'. Then again, main Ryuki was somehow around for the whole Decade thing unexplained, and Ouja was summoned during the main show as well by that coated asshole whose name escapes me. So a version of him being around isn't too unexpected, they've had him alive and around for unexplained reasons before, so now its just continuing from that I guess.

Or maybe Shocker messing with time back in the Drive Rider Taisen movies let him live because of an unseen altercation.

That or just blame Barry Allen. Safe bet is it's his fault.

I mean, I love that Toei is doing more to establish some continuity between all of these Rider shows but at the same time....none of it makes any sense. This timeline is almost as convoluted and full of plot holes as the X-Men movie series

Please, for the love of Godoka, let Knight show up for a last-minute assist against Asakura.

Or give me Brave Knight Gamer. I'll take that. I will HAPPILY take that. Especially if it means a Knight Gashat.

It's weird for them to give us two Ryuki Riders in this spin-off. After all, we already have Beast, so why bother we need Tiger whose animal motifs aren't so different with him? And I couldn't help but hate Toei a bit for making Tsurugi as a villain in recent crossovers. Come on, Tsurugi might be a villain as the Scorpio Worm but he was more a comic-relief and more of a support for Kagami, and sometimes to Tendou... Anyway, for those who wondering why Beast is involved in these baddies doings, try to remember something. It's still haven't spoken yet who is "this" Beast and IIRC, it was implied that there was another user of Beast before Kosuke and basically, we don't know if he is bad or not. So...

Maybe this recent attention being given to Ryuki will give us a Ryuki Special explaining what the hell is going on, but I doubt it.


I'd love for Shinji to appear in just one of these specials out of suit though. Anybody know what Takamasa Suga is doing these days?

He's not THAT old. Like 35-40 now since I'm assuming he was 20-25 when Ryuki was made.

It's a joke. It doesn't have to make sense. If he's only 35-40 now then why does he have crazy old lady hair?

He kinda already had weird hair in Ryuki already so maybe it's just lost what volume it had left?

His last film was in 2015, so he isn't doing much. He also voiced Ryuki in 2016 for the Battleride video game. I don't see why he can't make an appearance.

Oh boy, Asakura, everyone's favourite.

Brave's actor looks just... so enthused in the thumbnail.

It's kind of shocking to see an "old-timey" Kamen Rider costume next to a modern one that's not a main rider. Like, Brave looks ridiculous next to the awesome and minimalist Ouja suit.

What a bizarre concept for a spin off, and I mean that in the best possible way. I hope they keep doing this kind of crossover stuff- I much prefer to see smaller assortments of various riders than giant groups of just the main riders in SHT and stuff.

On the topic of Beast (and to a lesser extent Sasword) being there, a line in the trailer mentions a "twisted survival game", so hopefully that means they're just simulations/Bugsters. Maybe even from the Knight of Safari game.

I hope Ouja brings out Genocider at some point. Not only for the throwback, but to see if the CG has improved much since Ryuki.
