Power Rangers Movie Legacy Figures - 02/15 Release Date - ALPHA 5 INCLUDED
1 Attachment(s)
@tavion_jackson saw the figures at work. Street date is 02/15. Alpha 5 included (was not known).
|
Ugh, and I literally just bought the basic Alpha 5 because I didn't think there'd be a Legacy one.
Oh well, I guess the one I have scales better anyway. Kinda want the BAF piece though :/ |
Was hoping we'd get news on MMPR yellow and White before these hit.
|
When is the big Goldar with Rita coming out??
|
The big Goldar has already been released, supposedly.

Are these "limited edition" too?
Hard to make out on the picture. |
What's the articulation like compared to the other figures?
|
Still no weapons or alternate hands? LAME!!
|
And I thought the actual Legacy figures were light on accessories.

They finally made movie merch I want.. well played.
|
I'm really, legitimately worried we may not get MPR yellow and White. I have a feeling the Legacy figures being so expensive without real accessories, and now on the movie line which I bet will be over-ordered, will clog and the last two will be hard to find or just not released.
|
I'm just a little peeved the movie line gets their entire cast in one big wave. Wasn't the point of splitting up teams to prevent one ranger team from hogging up too much space?
And the movie line is still getting their regular figures, too... |
Well that's... frakking disapointing... The rangers look great, the buildable Megazord looks like it's going to be really good, but I really have no interest in owning a figure of Alpha-5... Hopefully he'll be easy to sell off...
As for anyone worried about these taking up too much space on store pegs... you do realize these are TRU exclusives and "limited edition"... right? I doubt these will clog up space for too long. |

I'd like to see some close up shots. I'm really curious how the BAF looks.

Cool, probably the only chance to get a legacy alpha in that scale, though shame rita is not included

I obviously have no proof of this, but this is the exact same thing they did with Thundercats. Hell, just look at how they already have a megazord and red ranger sword, but they didn't bother packing them into the boxes. Oh and look at the silver belts on the other MMPR team. Yeah, if that truly had been a factory mistake and they cared, they would be making sure people got corrected belts. |
Figures look decent. Though Goldar I can probably make after buying a block of cheddar cheese from the grocery store. :lolol

The splitting up of teams in waves was a stupid idea, but splitting up the Megazord build-a-figure was even dumber. They sacrificed the figures' own accessories for that gimmick and they couldn't even do it right. Why they didn't just put all MMPR figures in one wave, as waves are five figures anyway, confuses me. Most Ranger teams are at least five core members, or five total. They could easily put full or core teasm in waves, then every now and then do a "sixth ranger" wave to play catch up, because at least sixth rangers are typically more independent. So as it stands, there's really no incentive for casual buyers to buy entire teams for the Megazords as they're so spread-out, and there's no incentive to buy individual rangers because they lack accessories. If it weren't for the fact that the figures themselves are really good, and the promise that MMPR weapons at least will be released somehow down the line, I probably wouldn't be collecting them. And I see I'm not alone, as while MMPR sells because MMPR, and the Ninja Storm Rangers did have decent accessories and a full Megazord, the two In Space Rangers shelfwarm (along with MMPR Pink and NS Blue for the most part) as there's really no good reason to buy them. |
Yeah, they really screwed the pooch on that one. No one wants to wait a year to complete a Build a Figure. Mattel made this mistake with their Green Lantern movie line (Parralax was a 16 piece BAF and only 7 figures made it to store shelves). Instead of doing teams, they should have done it as Wave 1 gets you a Season 1 Megazord, Wave 2 gets you the Astro Megazord, Wave 3 builds the <insert Megazord.>
|
Yup.
That way at least you'd be rewarded for completing a wave. |
