We'd heard before they wanted a number of sequels, but one complete story arc played out across six films?! That's an interesting way to do it...

Hmm....I think thats will be really interesting...

What if Six Movies is based on:

- MMPR Season 1
- MMPR Season 2
- MMPR Season 3
- Zeo
- Turbo
- In Space

Yes, all first six seasons is in Zordon Era.

I'm gonna judge that decision myself when I see the movie today (it's out in the Netherlands)

It seems like putting a bunch of carts before the horse.

Seeing as this only scraped by with mixed reviews I'm not sure they can even get six, let alone 2 or 3.

Oh boy this is going to be fun.

The problem with this is it just means each movie is going to lead into the next without ever telling its own story.

Please no. Give us a solid sequel or two at most.

Ultimately it depends on the box office. Just look at Transformers. Every movie since the 2nd one is critically panned, but they rake in billions, and as a result there are five Transformers movie with even a spin off in the works.

The best we can hope is that the second Power Rangers movie is not Revenge of the Fallen 2.0.

Yeah, personally I think a trilogy would be best.

I could see them doing a trilogy with Rita and then have Zedd show up.

Well, we've pretty much been assured that movie two will be a retelling of the Green Ranger arc. I'd also be surprised if they have the restraint not to introduce Lord Zedd in the first sequel. So my guess is that movie two will have elements of MMPR season one smashed together with season two.

While I'd kill to see the Thunder and Ninja Zords introduced in the next few sequels, I wonder if that will happen. We know that the Zeo Crystal is already part of movie one, so it feels kind of likely that they'll rush to that story arc, possibly in movie three.

But honestly, who knows? The movie creators seem pretty content venturing far off course from the original. We probably have no clue what they're actually planning.

That would be interesting. I would see 'em all.

Betting those next movies will also try to introduce other 90's Saban adapted toku or other Ranger teams of similar motifs and spin them off into thier own movies lol.

So, after the obvious Green With Evil adaptation, do you think we'll see Rocky, Adam, and Aisha?

Yikes. Imagine a gritty Masked Rider reboot movie. I'm not sure Toei would even condone that.

Gritty Furbus would be hilarious. ZeronXepher would love that sort of thing.

I won't go that far just yet. I think they will mostly stick with Power Rangers for now because I feel like the other Saban shows are too niche to be adapted.

Plus, wasn't the original manga kind of gritty? He did base it off of Skullman after all.

Shin already exists and Ishinomori was IN Shin.

Seriously, Shin had Mortal Kombat fatalities, a pool sex scene, and Kamen Rider Fetus. It screaming dark and gritty...and it's still somehow boring, but that's beside the point.

The First was just a garbage love triangle movie with great stunt work. Nothing dark or gritty about it.

That movie was released in the States as Masked Rider the First.

So a gritty Masked Rider already exists.:p

On it's own it isn't that bad it's sequel on the other hand...

The original Kamen Rider manga did felt more darker and violent compare to the TV show due to TV being more strict on blood and nudity at the time. If a Kamen Rider film from Hollywood movie was made, I rather be a original American Rider that is not based on the Japanese shows.

Anyways, I think adapting other Henshin heroes in Hollywood has a long way to go before that happens. Right now, PR and Godzilla are the only ones that are less risky to market.

Well, better hope the first one doesn't totally bomb, then.

Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan are the largest three member Sentai team in history.

How the hell could they do six? I can see how three or four movie story arc could work.

First: Introduce the rangers
Second: More of the rangers being rangers and introduce the Green Ranger

Now if they don't do the green with evil arc since Rita was the Green Ranger

Third: A decent build up for the final battle
Fourth: Final Battle

You know you fucked up when your movie has a scene where the hero cuts deep into the villain's throat the pull their head off with the spine still connected, and your movie is still boring.

I didn't think The Next wasn't that bad. I was more entertained with it than The First.
Sad thing is if that was real and even if it looked like shit, I am pretty sure almost everyone here would go see it.

You can't see how a franchise with 800+ episodes and 20+ unique iterations could sustain a six movie franchise?

I rather enjoyed THE NEXT more than THE FIRST, I’m scared to say.

Probably, yeah. The reviews aren't great, but they aren't terrible. Unless it tanks as badly as Fant4stic, it should at least get a sequel. Planning for six is really optimistic, though.

Yeah totally, a higher budget would definitely help with Overdrives concept.

The possible unsuccessful first film shouldn’t prevent Lionsgate from making a second film, at least. Perhaps they’ll listen to the criticism and make improvements.

A sequel was inevitable. It had to do Jem and the Holograms level of poorly to not get a sequel.
Hell, I don't even think critical response matters. It has to do horrid in the box office.

Only reason I can see them planning a six-movie story arc is because Lionsgate probably wants this to be their next Hunger Games.

Side note, I had a dream... where reboot MMPR fought alongside a rebooted VR Troopers, Beetleborgs, and Ferbus' owner. I thought I was rewatching that dream sequence from BvS.
