Jokes aside, not a bad design. I like that his helmet is Kyutama-themed.

Haha for some reason, looking at the scans and before reading the article, I assumed HoOh Soldier was an upgrade and the silver would be a 12th ranger.

Also thought that would be a cerberus, just a little fuzzy so wasn't sure. That sounds neat.

I like pretty much everything there for HoOh, particularly his Voyager. Reminds me of some of my favorite standalone mecha.

Robot is called Gigant Houoh, shield is called Houoh Shield, the sword is called Houoh blade.

Ha.

Now they missed the opportunity of him being based on the Hydra constellation.

I saw a Lucky upgrade popping up and a Saikou Kyutama on Twitter

So far it looks like KogumaSkyBlue is the last Ranger to use a Seiza Blaster. Why, am I saying this? Because aside from him and the main team, Ryu and whoever this guy is going to be, use different items/weapons to transform. I do like how they used a a cue from Kyutama for the helmet, giving is a headset/microphone look. I really can't wait to see how this looks as an actual suit.

It looks an awful lot like the sword and shield transform into the rocket, which then transforms into the mecha. (Also, my first impression of that blurry image is that this might be the best-looking mecha of the series so far.)

I think we have a new record for most Rangers in a single season. (Dino Charge/Kyoryuger has been trumped)

Yep. When you ignore/take out the change of hands in KyoRyuger there were only 10. I don't know if DeathRyuger counted because he was a movie Ranger or not. But main storyline-wise KyuRanger has them beat now by 2. And if the previous rumors (due to the Seiza Blaster hacks), there's going to be a 13th based on Orion. *looks at their giant Space ship* Who knows!

Did DekaRanger have an A-Squad?! If not then the Amercian SPD does have KyuRanger beat by one. But then again, Seiz Blaster hack....read the upper part of my post. XD

I believe SPD is still the reigning champ in that department.

Counting the main team, Shadow, Omega, Nova and the A-Squad that season had a total of 13.

Orion turned out to be an upgrade for YOSSHA LUCKY rather than a new ranger, unfortunately.

When was it said to be an Upgrade? If it's in upgrade then why is there a Voyager for it?

No, A-Squad was exclusive to the US adaptation (Wasn't going by Power Rangers), so they don't count. However you forgot Dekaswan (Kat Ranger) and Dekagold, which brings DekaRanger/SPD's total to 10, tying Kyoryuger.

Kyoryuger still has more individual *characters* in-series as team members, but only ten individual suits. (Well, twelve given that there were both male and female versions of KyoryuViolet and KyoryuCyan. Thirteen if you count Deathryuger, which I don't.) Twelve unique, in-series heroes without sharing suits or reaching for movie characters is definitely unprecedented.

...and it's the first *two quarters.* They could cap it here and I wouldn't be disappointed, but I also wouldn't be wholly surprised to see more next time around. Goodness knows how many we'll end up with as a result of movies.

I'm also very curious about the ways in which the star on HouohSoldier is shaped differently than for the others. Perhaps this will be a Kyuranger who starts on the side of the villains?

I cannot *wait* to see how the opening and closing sequences deal with the additions.

Remember when the teams had upgrades together and not just the annoying Red?

How many Kyurangers will this season have?

I need more detailed scans but no problem so far. I do wish that Rocket Zord had more colors, but White and Red is a rare combination for the Rangers/Sentai I guess.+

HoOh Soldier. Ryu Commander. I think he must have have some connection to Shou Ronbo. Like their titles suggest, HoOh must have been Ronbo's ally in the past. I remember that Orion was rumored to be its own ranger, but seems like it's just a form for Red.

From what I can see of Houoh Soldier I dig it. Because its suit has that star field effect, and a Kyutama head I wonder if it's not a person at all. I'm thinking it's a living Kyutama that made its suit from the space around it. That would be cool. My other theory is that Soldier is an OG Kyuranger from this universe's ancient past. It's the weapon, and it's wonky looking star on the chest that gives me that impression.

Houoh voyager being a rocket is pretty cool, and fits with the hybrid nature most of the voyagers have. There is a second part of it that we haven't really seen though. A base or platform that will turn into arms according to the Gashapon listing. I guess with all of this my concern is how it will all come together. I'd like to see a clean combo of everything, or 3 to 4 separate robots where every voyager has a place.

I don't mind Lucky becoming a White ranger via Orion upgrade at all. This is just where sentai is at the moment, and it looks cool. I wonder what the Orion Voyager will look like. I'm guessing that's the 4th quarter brick.

Im.... not digging the design on this one.. it does remind me of oh ranger a bit. I like the mech tho.

Looking at the sword and shield more closely, it looks like the shield separates, and I suspect it connects to the sword as wings to become a phoenix mecha. You can see a head on the hilt, the the tip of the sword looks like tail feathers.

That is what I am thinking as well, it is hard to be sure because the images are still blurry

My assumption is that the sword and shield combines and then grows to be Gigant Houoh/its rocket form.

An interesting fact I learned is that the Cerberus constellation is not called Cerberus anymore. Now most of its stars make up the Hercules constellation.

Then if they do something similar with the mecha it forms like I did with mine, Hercules would be part of the name.

This is rather nitpicky, but the Cerberus Voyager is a remold, not just a recolor. It's clearly been altered to have the three signature dog heads, whereas if it was just a recolor, the most they would've done would've been to paint dog heads onto the areas above the front paws, and try to pass off the lion head as a dog head.

The Saiko Kyutama has the number 315. Does anyone know the significance of that number?

^ It's a pun. 3-1-5 can be read as "saiko" (sa-i-ko).

An interesting idea I heard suggested about the Orion is that, rather then being an upgrade for Shishi, its an entirely different ranger that simply takes control of Shishi's body. That really reminds of of Shirogane from Justirisers. What a unique idea for a 'powerup'.

That's interesting. I expected it to relate to something with space, but I guess it's simpler than that.
