Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Episode 29- "We Are Me?!" Discussion
Pallard has revealed a long-hidden connection to Emu, and taken control of the unsuspecting intern. What is the TRUTH behind their relationship?!
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
It's kind of impressive in a way because usually episodes with this much sheer plot skip the opening. But nope, this week we get the opening theme AND lots of revelations.
|
Aw...Para-DX Level 99 is too strong....he really overpower. Ex-Aid, Brave, and Snipe is defeated.....
I think Para-DX Level 99 is tribute to Kamen Rider Ryugen. Hmm...so Pallad still possess Emu's body and Pallad still want battle against Emu in next episode.. Poppy find black and white version of PMAX...and next episode, Genm will be return..... |
The scene when Paradox and Emu fighting and Paradox explains everything, feels like i was watching a movie.. wooo
and .. i watched ep 10 again,Emu's eyes turn red to fight with 3 riders but later it shows it's Emu but not Paradox... kinda confuse here.. ; ~; |
God Tier Writing brahhh
|
Haven't watched sub yet...
But Is poppy somehow a Kuroto's Mom, no wonder Dan Keep her around.... But does that mean Emu gonna ship with Dan's Mom? Lol that was weird XD So all this time we watching Pallad fighting?! But when Pallad Vs Emu show Up it just Emu no M?! Mindblowing Lol So wait a minute i sense Deathnote Level of comeback Is poppy bringing back Dan is a safety he think Long time ago?! lol so that is why he keep poppy around, If taht is true then WTF lol :D |
if that so i wont be suprised
expected from The Man With Motherfkin Plan LOL |

And really, it would only make Poppy her mom in the same way Graphite is Hiiro's girlfriend. Not really, but I guess. |

anyway i reprase why dan keeping poppy around with a man caliber like him its possible that poppy is his safety device to return |

...gyaaahahahaaa.
Episodes like this always give me the shivers. It's a huge mix between interesting, relieving, and a bit scary with all these revelations. And that "See you next game" screen does not help that feeling. |
Ok, now that I actually saw the episode, it's great. It's answering questions, like why Dan the Man didn't seem to realize Doremifa's Bugster was already there. Like why Emu didn't die. It's also showing Parrad's personality a bit more and how he's a Chessmaster archetype too. Also despite the extra tension they used LESS screen time than usual. The preview for the next episode was longer

The fight between the Mighty Bros was really cool. This episode was definitely really interesting. I'm curious what'll happen if Parad is killed. Will Emu not care about video games anymore? So I'm guessing Poppy took over the body of Kuroto's mom. It seems like level 0 will be able to cure game disease and maybe even bring back those who've disappeared. I hope that's true because Kiriya's return could then become a possibility.

So that one time early on when Emu flipped out and beat the shit of Genm using Gekitotsu Robots......that was Pallad.
Mind = Blown And of course, Dan has one million contingency plans. Why did he leave Poppy alive? Because, of course, she's the only one that can find the Proto Mighty Action X gashat that will inevitably lead to his resurrection. |
So I guess that makes Parad the Bugster for Mighty Brothers XX, right?
|
So is Poppy Dans Mom? I just saw people spread rumors or is that true?

ainly debunked, too. |
Parad is the Bugster from Mighty Action C, originally, but is also the Bugster of Mighty Bros XX, which we can assume he created with Emu.
We can assume that he's the Perfect Puzzle / Knockout Fighter Bugster, too but, I think the show may have bit off a bit more than it can chew with this idea and it's best to not pick at it. I think Cronus might end up being Nico: she's the actual challenge Parad is looking for, made it clear this ep that she intends to beat him and, as we've seen with the Ride Players, Kamen Riders - like actual video games - don't need to conform to the gender of the player. |
and so the whole deal with Parad is revealed. He is Emu's Bugster and is the actual gamer M.
Para-Dx totally kicked their butts and despite being more powerful than the level 50s still augment his attacks with power-ups to defeat them. He even has his own theme song now. Genm returns and Poppy is going to use it first?! cant wait for Kuroto boy to come back. Nico as Cronus? Why would she fight the doctor riders as well since scans shows Cronus doing that. Unless more than 1 person becomes Cronus. So Level 0 may have infection prevention prowess? Why would Kuroto need something like that? xD |

Great episode. I liked that new OST. I find it weird that level 50+50=99 though but it is probably an aesthetic choice they went with. I wonder if we will get a Tekken 7 Gashat someday...

It's a game thing. Mostly in RPGs. Level 99 is max level because 100 would require adding a 3rd digit to the number and in early gaming history that would take a lot more space for just one number. Thematically, this means that if/when a Rider goes to Level 100 or higher they are breaking the game.
So this is a good episode. I expected the Emu and Pallad plot and it did pretty much what I needed it to do to explain a lot of things, though I feel there's still questions to address. However, I'd have to rewatch the show from the beginning to spot them. Eitherway, they did a good job here. What I didn't expect was Poppy's B plot. Without a word, they revealed who died in Poppy's creation. That's some good stuff. On the negative, I don't like Perfect Knockout. I knew something was off about it from promos, but it wasn't until I saw it moving that I realized the helmet is flat and narrow. Also, the designs gets rid of the pearl color that made his unique undersuit. I don't hate the design, I'm just not a fan of it. |
This really feels like the episode before the final. Ex Aid is great.
BTW- The actors are really good looking especially Pallad. |
Huh, common core math seems to be in effect with this episode.
Another excellent episode. I wonder if the direction for Emu was 'do your best Kuroto'. Everyone in this series is just fabulous. |

I'm commenting a bit early this week because I'm watching KissAsian's RTA subs now instead of the OneDrive due to family computer usage complications, anyway on to the episode:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't really know how to feel about the big reveal this episode. On one hand, it feels like a letdown to find out that Emu has the typical Jekyll/Hyde relationship with Parad. On the other, it really does make sense and explains a lot of the oddities/questions that happen throughout the series: -The reason why Emu was acting like such a jerk after finding out he has the bugster virus is because Parad was directly possessing him. -The reason why Parad has been around since the start was due to being surgically separated from Emu six years ago. -The reason why Emu's bugster wouldn't come out when Emu had Hiiro operate on him is because Parad was currently already outside his body at the time. Hell their connection was already obvious way back in the early episodes when people were suspecting that Parad was Genm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for the big debut of Perfect Knockout (Still think they should've gone all out 90's cheese, and named it Perfect Fighter) I actually like it a lot more seeing it in motion now. As I said in the rumor thread, I was really scared that the hair spikes would just be a flat disk that sticks out of the middle of his helmet but thankfully it's not. I was also worried that its shoulders would be the "Ixa" kind and just flop around when Para-Dx was moving his arms, but they seem to hold in place enough for me to not notice anything. The fight itself was neat, with Para-Dx beating all three riders just like his original debut. And for bonus points he once again beats them via using a mechanic they all forgot about: Pressing the b button on your GashaCon weapon makes the attack stronger. |

I know Nico having a vagina makes this highly unlikely but, hey, Ex-Aid has bucked the "Girls Can't Be Riderzzz" stupidity this far... |
Man Ex-Aid is soooooooo good. It's only 29 episodes in but it seems like we're already approaching the finale. Lots of great substance so far.

At this point in her development, I just can't see any way for Nico to do that. |
Scans suck.

This was pretty excellent. That being said:
- Since I can't seem to stop nitpicking this show, I found it slightly weird how slow on the uptake with the whole "Parad is possessing Emu" thing everyone was, considering they were standing right there. I can buy not getting seeing Ex-Aid fighting himself, but come on Taiga, what do you mean "Why has he got Para-DX's Gashat?". Put two and two together, man. :lol - Speaking of putting numbers together, apparently I'm not the only one who noticed the most juicy lore dropped this whole episode. Parad is really bad at math! No but seriously, if a Pokemon can be level 100, so can you, pal. Don't sell yourself short. - (obligatory reminder that Parad is totally a way better villain then Kuroto "I technically died more times than Takeru" Dan was) - So one of Ex-Aid's biggest strengths has been the attention to detail in terms of the Plot, and this episode really showed why. So much stuff that seems like obvious foreshadowing in retrospect! Why was Parad seemingly more special to Dan than the other Bugsters? Why did he just disappear when Emu's Game Virus broke out and then not show up again until the end of that episode when everything was sorted out? See, the fact that this show has so much cohesion is why I nitpick it. It's so smart, I get really surprised when I see something even remotely dumb. - Also, props to the show for simultaneously confirming every theory about Emu & M all at once, even the ones that seem mutually exclusive. That's nuts. "M is gonna be the main bad guy!"? Yup. "M and Emu are separate dudes!"? Check. "No they're not!"? Also check. "Emu is the real one!"? Uh-huh. "M is the real one!"? Not too far from the truth either. Considering this was the one big thing I was worried Ex-Aid would handle in a way I didn't like, I'm really happy they're doing it the way they are. Emu may be right back on the pain train this week, but on a meta level this is still a victory for the guy. - Also, even though I'm bad at speculating, I just want to go on record as saying that if Dan gets back in the opening where the purple static is right now, the odds of Kiriya not actually being dead too shoot WAY up there. Although this episode also had Parad explicitly refer to the KRC players as being "killed" rather than "erased" or whatever, which, even if he was just trying to get under Emu's skin, is kind of suspect. - You know what? Screw it. Here's my real prediction. Hiiro's dad is Chronos. Why else has he been gone for like half the show? :p |
That episode shed SO much light on everything. They finally explained the M/Emu thing in a way that even surprised me, with Parad literally being the M personality. Also character development, all the Riders worked together! I'm really curious about that the abilities of Genm Level 0 are going to be though, is it going to be a very non-combat oriented form that specializes only in healing the game illness or is it more like the level is so high it rolled over to 0 and will kick everyone's ass? I like how this show doesn't try and just exposition dump everything as soon as it comes up, but slowly feeds you information, it keeps me hooked!
