Akibaranger's very own quirky mecha gets a S.H. Figuarts release! Accurately scaled to the Figuarts figures, Robo Itashar stands tall at nearly 15 inches. It is the biggest Figuarts release to date, it features a Toyota Prius adorn with Z-Cune Aoi graphics. Robo Itashar also comes with its signature "sign weapons" that turns into a gun and two swords. Akibaranger Figuarts can actually sit within the vehicle.

Expected to release in November 2012 with a whopping price tag of 36,750 yen.

Those sign weapons are da bomb. Though I don't see why you'd want them in sign mode...
You know it's times like these that make you wonder, "Just how crazy are some of these reviewers?" I can't help but feel ShukenShinobi'll be getting this. :p

Its pretty cool, but by no means is it worth $470...its basically a glorified leader-class transformer.

That is IDIOTIC. Look at all those small parts! Just from one picture I'm seeing atleast 60 things that could break during ONE transformation!

Wow...idiotic? Really? I was referring more to the size, not how many parts have been crammed into the mech...though actually, now that I look at it closely, I still don't see anything that intricate. "60 breakable parts?" Do you plan on transforming it with your feet? It looks like rather straight-forward to me. The front of the car collapses to make the cockpit so there isn't any transformation required for the driver area, the hood and front bumper unfold to make the legs in what looks like about two steps, and the side doors swing back to reveal the arms. I stand by my statement, there's nothing here that's any more complex than what I could get in a $15 transformer (I was being generous when I said Leader class, and that's coming from a guy who prefers Sentai mecha). Does it look nice? Very! Would I like to have it? Yes. I'd love to support Bandai so that they'd hopefully make more mecha in the Figuarts line, but the truth is that there is absolutely NOTHING here that would warrant a near $500 price tag. To each his own I suppose.

*EDIT: My apologies, another user clarified Sentai's original post for me... I misunderstood what he meant. I guess that's the downside to reading something online, versus speaking in person where you can hear the tone and inflection of someone's voice. I'm going to leave my original post unedited because I believe that it further explains my opinion...just understand that its not directed toward Sentai's response.

$470 too spicey of a meatball to swallow? Probably :lol. Just give it a few weeks on AmiAmi, it'll hit a DAT PRICE clearance.

So I'm hoping, either way I'm getting this thing, I want to support this initial mech release in SHFiguarts so that we can hopefully get more down the road.

(I'm not counting Power Dizer because that thing doesn't transform like this one does)

I dunno, this thing is being designed with the Soul of Chogokin people whom have done plenty of transforming and combining robots in the past.

But 500+ is still a tough pill to swallow...I wonder how big this thing's box is gonna be...?

Then I have a little more hope it won't break as easy as, say for example, masterpeice Rodimus First Edition. ... Hasbro/Takara you make me cry.

I think the pricetag is up because of the trademark, since it's the first (That I know of) Figuarts to use something 'real' like the Prius.

I'd like to think that for 500$, and the fact that Soul of Chogokin is co-producing this, there's probably going to be SOME die cast reinforcing the joints

You guys aren't talking about Sentai mechs are you? Machine Itasha's the smallest Sentai mech ever, and this release is still well over a foot tall. If Bandai made other Sentai mechs in-scale with Figuarts, they'd make Hercules look like a candy toy.

That is true...this thing is ungodly expensive for what it is, even BEFORE all the yen conversions, shipping and what not. You'd have to be rich, crazy, or a die hard fan of Akibaranger to buy it...or in some cases, all of the above.

That's surprising. I thought this thing would stick around for at least a day or two.

I'd guess they probably had pretty limited stock. There isn't too many people who can be willing/able to pay for that. It's going to be a mighty nice display piece for those who can though.

It is slightly cheaper than any anime BD-Box so it really doesn't matter at all.

That really puts into perspective just how expensive BD-boxes are in Japan :lol

I'll take a Itashar Robo over a BD with one to two episodes any day of the week :lol.
