at last we meet HoOh Soldier, keeper of the Argo!

- His name is Tsurugi Ootori(pronounced oh-oh-tori)

- His role call is "Space buster! Hohoh Soldier!"

- His suit is of the "space kyuren suit" type, a durable suit similar to that of a space suit.

- His Hohoh Shield is composed of a super metal that can absorb almost any energy and impact.

- His Hohoh Blade can slice through almost any type of matter with the help of the Hohoh Kyutama's kyu-energy.


- He has been dormant within the Argo after previously defeating Don Armage centuries ago

Anyone getting a strong Magiranger vibe?

Ho Oh Soldier has the best Kyuranger design hands down. I really like his story with the Argo.

Something I want to discuss is Ohguma Skyblue. At this point I'm convinced they scrapped that idea. Kotaro hasn't been in the show for a while and when he uses the Ohguma Kyutama he just grows giant and not into an adult.

But then again, probably better that way than have him tagged as a Kibaranger ripoff. Gives him something to differentiate from past kid warriors.

Well, I think that the main reason that they sent him away for 'training' is exactly for this. He doesn't know how to exactly use the Ohguma Kyutama, as whenever he used it, he was almost kinda....awkward with it, especially how it barely lasted...

I'd say that I do kinda like what they're doing with him. HOWEVER, I did have a different theory. Back when the initial scans announcing this new Kyuranger came out, it kinda looked like he had a skirt. I honestly thought that Madako would be, IDK, 'purified' and use this to become the 12th Kyuranger....

Also, i'm pretty sure that the Cerberous Voyager is simply for the movie, like maybe Engine Dai-Shogun or Zyudenryu Tobaspino.

But yeah the new Kyuranger looks cool

I like how he made his head a Kyutama, but I don't know about the SWAT Deka vibe coming off the helmet. With the sword and shield it might've been better with a more knight motif.

Well I am probably going to be the only one to say this but I do not like the design of HOoh Soldier. His suit looks pretty standard among the Kyuranger suits. Add the fact his head is designed after a kyutama just makes him appear dumb to me. Though I do love his morpher and mecha.

I am in the majority, it looks great. I want the toys to have the Electronic feature also. Here is hoping.

The zord also looks like Gao Hunter. The Red looks like MagiRangers and am liking it.

From far away he kind of reminds me of Akiba red.

I get KingRanger/Zeo Gold vibes from the helmet.

Ho Oh Soldier looks great. Kyuranger continues to have the best damn costumes.

Soldier looks fine, though I really like the new mecha. It's got a satellite, and I'm a sucker for space-stuff.

Cerberus still not really doing anything for me. It's cute, but kinda awkward.

Whoa, when did Shinken Red and Magi Red have a baby together?

Not sure we need another ranger right now though when they still haven't even developed half of the cast they have currently.

But then what would they sell? Lord knows 2 robots, 5 mecha, two changers, two belts, a weapon, a kyulete, and a fuck ton of Kyutama just isn't enough. :lol

In all seriousness though, I'm actually very interested in his sword/shield combo. I had originally planned on ignoring any non-kyutama item but I might actually pick this up depending on its price and my feelings at the time.

Unfortunately this is the downside of having so many characters. Not much time for development. Also Ho-oh Soldier...as long as he still gets Sacred Fire he should be good

What about the living Pegasus armor? They could develop that more and make toys off that?

There's a rumour that was flying about that they accidentally broke the prop, meaning they can't use it anymore without making a new one

Besides, I doubt they would put that much energy into marketing a standard Kyutama like Pegasus. Take this from somebody who own the toy, it isn't that special. People keep thinking of Pegasus as an upgrade but it actually more like Lucky Mode in Boukenger. Just a fun, one episode gag that you probably should think that much about. While I wouldn't be surprised if it returned at a later point in time, I doubt it'll have much presence.

It was in pretty rough shape by the end of the episode so I'd believe that. I'd agree that it was supposed to be a one-off thing though since there's no fancy toy to sell.
