The Next Amazon Prime Rider Show (Hopefully): Ideas
 

So with Omega, Alpha, and Neo possibly leaving us tomorrow (unless they announce a season 3 and depending on who lives), we fans probably have the same question: is Toei going to make another series after this one?

While I doubt they'd just quit after this, as I believe Amazonz did well for itself (they gave it a second season), obviously we'll have to wait and see to be sure.

Having said all that, I wondered what ideas the rest of you have for what you'd like to see next with the similar freedoms Amazonz enjoyed, not being aimed primarily at kids.

I have one major idea, and like two smaller ones.

Idea #1 would be Kamen Rider: Kiva Swarm. Similar to Amazons, we'd have two main riders, brothers this time around, and both of them would be modeled after Kiva from the recent Kamen Rider novel series (so no Kivat belt. Love the character, but removing him does make the the suit look a bit better).

One brother would be based off of fruit bats, and so doesn't need to feed off of humans to live, while the other is obviously based off of vampire bats and does so, but at first only targeting criminals. They're minor royalty of the Kiva clan, and lost their mother at a young age to an IXA hunter (which are not massed produced per say, just available to the captains of Kiva hunting units).

Brother 1 (Fruit Bat) is working on a way to grow and cultivate a food source that can feed his more predatory brethren without targeting humans (taking the plot point they just brought up at the end of Kiva and doing more with it). Brother 2, while not against his brother's plan, is more interested in punishing the worst of humanity he finds, and hunting down the IXA rider who killed their mother.

Little do they know that the Kiva Emperor betrayed their family to the IXA's out of jealousy that his brother, their father, has produced heirs while he remains barren.

I know, I know, having a series about riders who want to eat people but don't(-ish) followed by a series in which riders want to eat people(some of them) would seem way to damn similar, but Kamen Rider had Cyborgs back to back save for the original Amazon back in Showa times, Kuuga was succeed by Agito, who design wise and weapon-wise resembled him, and in general Riders tend to work off of the last ones design, so it's not breaking tradition or anything.

Besides, it might just fit a theme for the Amazon Prime series. The whole using-the-powers-of-the-monsters idea. And with the IXA riders being a decent counter-option for the humans, the problem that the Nozama co. people have of relying on Amazons to kill Amazons is removed, so yay for the humans.

One last little thing I'll add about my idea is that the Garu and Mer races would be present as rivals, so that it's not all bat themed kajin attacking. Plus, instead of taking them as weapons like in the original show, Kivas can absorb the powers of a defeated Garu or Mer for a day after feeding on them (so water manipulation and electrokineses). But the Garu and Mer can do so as well right back. So it's a four way power struggle.

Sounds like a mess, I know, but in better hands I'm sure it can be tidied up and made enjoyable.

One of my other two, minor ideas are just to keep it Showa and adapt Stronger (since it's "next" and Amazons stole X's weapons, so what's left for the guy design-wise), but take the dictator-kaijin designs from X and just say that some terrorist group (likely funded by the shady Nozama president) infected fascists, communists, anarchists, and the like with Amazon cells, so we can have Starfish Hitler: Amazon style. Why they would do this I'm less sure on (like I said, minor idea), but it could be that these new Amazons go and infect potential voters, making them Amazons but also brainwashing them to their particular ideology, and NewStronger is an agent who has to reveal and defeat these guys before they're successfully elected.

Last idea is to expand upon Zo and J, as they really end up as footnotes in the long history of Kamen Rider. Shin is just way too much like Amazons, so sorry but no. Maybe in a few years they can try to revamp that concept, but right after Amazons it's way to similar.

Faiz could work. Mainly because the designs and the main idea behind the show aren't bad, but the execution is garbage.

So if they take the idea of Faiz but develop it in a proper manner we could get something really good.

I was about to make a jo,e about doing the same for Ghost
But then I realized I'd watch that.
Fuck.

Regardless of my personal feelings for Ghost, I purposefully left that and any season W and up out because I thought they were too recent, so it be a bit dickish to redo them, whether one liked them not.

Oh, I agree, those ARE way too recent judging by the material that could be edged up. It's just I accidentally made myself excited because of a joke

I like the Kiva idea and the Faiz one as well I'm actually really excited by the both of them.

Considering Faiz was a show all about ~angst~ and existential waffling on what it means to be human, I'd say Amazons already IS that in a lot of ways.

Personally I really, really don't want an endless string of generic dark Rider shows because after a point I feel like that's just trading the shackles of being a kids' show for the shackles of being "adult", and doing it by rehashing shows that already exist just seems even more silly to me.

Amazons is, in my opinion, lightning in a bottle right down to the stupid pun name, and trying to recapture that immediately after it ends would just be a mistake. So if they're going to keep making Rider shows on Prime, I'd prefer something a little more out of left field.

Maybe do like, Decade 2 in a couple years with him visiting alternate versions of all the shows since W. Or if you need to be dark, maybe like, Shin Shin Kamen Rider, this time with an actual ending.

I want Kamen Rider Xs.

I'm with the Fish in that I don't really need another "sooo dark" Rider. I'd prefer more a sci-fi and psychedelic / surreal Rider; really vibrant colors, absurd situations, black comedy over horror. I'd say Stronger or X would be perfect candidates.

Apparently, according to AkkiNews, Amazons Season 2 ends open-endedly, with Tachibana planning 'a third Sigma' or something.

Kiva. This time: NO ACTUAL FUCKING METAL CHAINS.

Oh and maybe follow the Neo Fangire menace, who turn out to be worse (read: bloodier) than the regular Fangire.

I'd definitely want a Kuuga remake. I also want to see a modern take on Black and maybe RX for season 2.

Kuuga and Faiz are already dark series, so I wouldn't want to see them get recast or a sequel to them since Kuuga ended fine and 555 got KR4. I don't think Toei got the courage to turn Den-O in to a darker series since the Taros could still make money for them. I think W might have a chance and they're announcing something very soon. However, Phillip's actor became quite popular lately, so it might be just a KR Joker dark detective series if W is picked up for an Amazon Prime series with Phillip guest starring in some episodes.

NO DECADE! While I did enjoy Decade I would be afraid they would turn it into shit. Speaking of Decade, there was one rider who could not show off for some reason that does deserve it. RIDERMAN!!!!

They chains were actually metal? You telling me they could not make metallic plastic chains.

I want a continuation of the Kamen Rider 1 movie and just have a show about Old Man Hongo going around wrecking fools. Unlikely to happen!

Actually, that's confirmed to not be a show of any kind, so it's likely a novel of some sort.

This is what I figured - as each season goes on, it gets somewhat cheaper (less costumes needed) and, let's be honest; Amazon is carrying Amazons due, in great part, to branding.

One more season for sure, after that... who knows but, I'd put money on them running Amazonz into the ground before developing a new (more expensive) series.

They should just have the OG Kamen Rider Amazon in a one-shot straight-to-streaming film where he powers up and becomes Amazon Prime. :lolol

I'd be curious what they'd do for episode titles given they literally went from A to Z already, which, totally coincidentally, is an awful lot like the arrow in Amazon.com's logo.

I'm talking about Tachibana, the character. He's been behind every Sigma made so far. The guy's got a weird, mean streak.

I want a new original R rated Rider series or maybe do a animated series for Amazon Prime. If they do a animated show on Amazon Prime, they don't have to worry about having two toy lines going on at the same time.

I still haven't seen Amazons (as I am still clinging to the vain hope it will get an official release), but I think Kuuga or Faiz would both be good options. Heck, the Faiz one could give the show an actual ending!

I think the A lettering in the last episode was a sign for that things were not over and a new chapter has only begun.
Anyways, I want that end credits scene to lead to another Rider showing up and for Amazon Prime to build a a properly connected universe revolving around Amazons and many other shows in their future lineup. Haruka and Jin's fate is very open ended which I believe we as an audicne will see them in the near future for another battle.

How about adapting Kiva & Ghost?

Series 1: Do something to make it Darkstalkers-Devilman-Castlevania style. Change the Checkmate Four to Five - King, Queen, Rook, Bishop & KNIGHT.

Kiva - Alucard

Series 2: I can see it like a mix of The Crow, Shaman King, Yu Yu Hakusho & Dragon Ball. Specter & Necrom feel like Scorpion & Quan Chi.

Nope. Toei wanted REAL chains. Which proved way too heavy for the suit actor (no fucking shit, guys), and it almost killed him at one point. Hence Emperor becoming the default suit in the second half.

I'm liking the sound of you idea.

Though you have said what you Ghost Adaption would be.

I was thinking like how Ghost's theme should connect to heaven & hell. The living (life) & the undead (death).

Guess from Kiva & Ghost, I'm trying to find something that's Christian myth.

If adapting Ryuki, instead of 13 riders, make an 100 Rider War.

When I left, Faiz was in the lead.

Now I see a lot people want X, and Faiz is tied with Decade.

I honestly just expect Faiz or Stronger to win, and neither are even ones I voted for.

I'm going with X Rider because I feel any sequel will still continue the story, it just won't be about the Amazon outbreak anymore. X feels natural as it's from that era of Rider that the designs look like they are from a different era and it can easily fit into some of the themes (X is a Greek letter for example).

Wouldn't Stronger make just as much sense? I really don't understand why everyone thinks it should be X , when X came before Amazon, not after.
