This is a near stereotypical cross-section of all things '60s! It's as if to say that something or someone was found during the Moon Landing that necessitated a team of Rangers, but did they use the Power Coins that Zordon had at this time, or something else!?!? Definitely wondering more, as this may invariably change everything we thought we knew or even dared conceive of in fan-theory and/or fan-fiction!

Found a synopsis of sorts: "An eye-opening new piece of Power Rangers history is revealed! Well before Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, and Trini became Power Rangers, Zordon was forced to recruit Rangers to battle a foe who’s downright…psycho."

YEP, they're boned beyond all belief.

Of course, they may not fight the Psychos, but Deviot might be a close bet, seeing as he may have created the Psychos...

Maybe Deviot defeated these rangers, experimented on them, & turned the 1969 MMPR team into the Psycho Rangers?

If I somehow call that, I'll faint on sight.

Could be Dark Spector? Probably a long shot but, hey, I'd like to see some Ranger team actually fight the guy.

um actually no paladin. this is a different version of the power rangers then the ones from the show.

Show canon had the Wild West Ranger as the first team. Zordon said it himself that those Rangers were the current teams ancestors and the first ones to use the power coins.

This comics series, as should be obvious, is it's continuity and has it's own canon. Let's just hope they use different suits. XD

It's been released!!! Without giving away too much, it's quite different from the Rangers we know and love, but it isn't terrible! The history lesson is there and does play into how the team operates. Yes, BOOM!'s tendency toward a darker story and outcome is not lost here! It also throws a nod to Dark Specter and has a new villain who could EASILY get a future figure...if Bandai bothered to repaint a mold!!!!!!

What about the ones BEFORE the WWR? Like whoever Goushi was in the flashbacks from Green with Evil Part 2 and Happy Birthday Zack?

That was a hero on another planet! He may have fought for Zordon, but we are not given any reason to assume that was a "Ranger" in the technical sense.

Exactly! We know nothing! We only know what was said! It is possible that Zordon knew unseen Rangers before the Time Warp, or he simply knew certain warriors! It might not matter, because they may not have used the Power Coins, and the '69 Team did! They preceded the original teens JUST prior to Rita's actual release! Granted, it's almost 30 years before the release, but still...

Weren't the Psycho Rangers created by Astronema on the show? It's been a while since I watched In Space but I didn't think they were allied with Dark Spectre.

I guess like MST3KFan said earlier, the comic is it's own continuity.

while you are right about that the wild west rangers are only a thing because Kimberly was accidentally sent back in time and gave billy rocky adam and Aisha's great-great-great grandparents the power coins to fight goldar who was also in the past and altered the timeline in doing so. and since that happened during season 2 of MMPR and comic is set in season 1 right now that event hasn't happened yet there for the wild west rangers are not canon in the comicbook yet. and yes i know the wild west black ranger shows up in a short crossover story, "Forever Mighty Morphin Black" in the 2017 Mighthy Morphin Power Rangers Annual comic. but he was from another time and universe.

and i shouldn't have to point out all the continuity errors that power rangers is known for. just watch linkara's history of power rangers.
