Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Episode 41- "Reset Game!" Discussion
Cronus has reversed time, denying the Riders a chance to finish him off. There is only 1 thing that may stand against his powers: the GEMDEUS Virus.
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Guess who got their second flower bouquet.
Okay, so Reset seems to only affect Gashat and Driver, even if the gashats may have affected something else, and it only reset to somewhere before episode 35. The Proto Gashat returns to Masamune's position, same for the Gamer Drivers to their respective owners, All of Genm's lives are resetted to before Hyper Muteki was introduced, 94 (it soon 92 later in the episode) and most importantly Hyper Muteki never existed. Guess how Dan lost his lives this episode. Take a wild guess. |
Bit of dark comedy in this episode with Dan literally killing himself with overworking, twice.

Hm....Johnny Maxima appeared in this episode. Maybe the movie timeline between episode 41 and 42....
Farewell Graphite. Your last fight in this episode looks awesome.... |
isnt the movie an alternate ending if Cronus didnt use reset?? xD
anyways, Kuroto lost so many lives for Hyper Muteki. Him jumping out the pipes still funny. Parado and Emu using Mighty Brothers XX to fight Cronus was nice. Graphite had an amazing end. He heartwarmingly called Parado and Poppy his comrades and thanked Hiiro and Taiga for giving him the best fight he always wanted. Too bad they didnt hear it T__T and ofc Muteki is back xD Also preview for next ep, looks Kiriya is riding his own bike form...so possibly using his original gashat for that? Last thing, Mighty Doctors XX????? What is that maniac Kuroto up to? |

it was established that the movie took place between episode 42 and 43, canonically. Ep 43 is basically an epilogue. 44 and 45 are Build crossover, like Wizard's 52 and 53.
Or atleast, that's what I heard from those who watched the movie |

I think Ex-Aid Episode 44 (Last Smile) is for final battle. Episode 45 is for epilogue and crossover with Build.
I pretty sure Build's cast confirmation in next month. |

Beside Doctor Mighty XX Gashat, It seems Kuroto Dan also make other Rider Gashats.

I love that Parado and Emu merge via fist bump. They're literally Mighty Action BROS.
I also love that Kuroto loses lives from trying to redevelop Hyper Muteki and how he pretty much ended up looking like a zombie. |
Kuroto just keeps getting better and better. I'm really going to miss his character when the show ends. I wonder what that Mighty Doctor XX gashat does?

I mean, we never did see Chaser Mach either in scans if I recall and that was a real last minute form.
I'm assuming it's Genm's Version of Mighty Brothers XX. I could honestly see them just using it as Genm's final form, for what? Not sure. |
Damn. Graphite's still the worst character on this show but still, damn.
And Gemdeus' debut. Oof, that sent chills down my spine. But now there are a few more questions. Why are Lazer, a bike wearing a bike riding a bike, and Genm fighting? And what's Mighty Doctor XX? Though what's absolutely incredible as that they beat Reset by save scumming. Genius |
This show just keeps getting better and better, and that's saying something considering its initial reception.
So the Reset doesn't rewind time, it just reverts the condition of all the game constructs. And since Gashats have been shown to be able to convert into data (like when Parad teleports and doesn't immediately drop all his gear), they all reset positions. ...including the Proto Gashats. Dang. Although... wait! Does that mean Saki's data is back!? It should if the save data is reverted! Graphite's fight was pretty cool too. I found it interesting that all of their motivations were brought up, and it all culminated into an "honorable duel" sort of situation. Too bad no one heard Graphite's final thank-yous. I wonder what Doctor Mighty XX is then. Maybe it's a sort of Lvl X/99 version of Mighty Bros? Well, whether or not it gets an actual form, I think that it's probably going to be a Premium Bandai thing since it didn't show up in the scans. |
Wait.
If everything got reset. How the fuck do they have Lovelica's Gashatrophy? |

I hope Kuroto gets a V-Cinema spinoff after the show ends and he uses that Doctor Mighty XX gashat.

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/9oili4bgyge...%20DZ.gif?dl=0 Speaking of Shin Dan Kuroto, I'm not sure what disturbs me more: the fact that a japanese kids show made an overworking joke, or that Kuroto managed to frenzy himself to death 11 times in one night. |

As the episode itself it was nice its a nice closture for graphite character... and that farewell is kinda sad actually, maybe if he have heart route he will revived and have rider form?? i dunno i just have that thought :D |
I mean... Taddle Legacy does make sense, everything was reset to right before Muteki showed up.
Kiriya only has Proto Shakariki Sports and Jet Combat, not Giri Giri Chambara which he obtained after Hyper Muteki was stolen. Likewise Hiiro had Taddle Legacy in his possession before Hyper Muteki showed up too, he just wasn't able to use it until after Muteki's debut episode. So yeah, only thing that doesn't make sense is Toki Meki Crisis Gashat Trophy, because clearly reset was about to affect the trophies if the save state wasn't there. |

Kuroto has become my favorite KR character, you can just see how much fun his actor has. Gemdeus debut was pretty cool and I cant wait for the next episode. Graphite wasn't really among my favorite character but his final fight was great
|
Regarding about the Taddle Legacy, I swear that it clearly was shown just a split second before Kuroto showcased Hyper Muteki in episode 35. Though, you could argue that they were made at the same time. However, from my perspectives, it seems that Masamune made Taddle Legacy way before Kuroto finished Hyper Muteki.
I still think that this episode is solid and amazing as usual. However, there's two bits of disappointment. The way that they introduce Reset feature as if it's going to be something big, only for said feature to be rendered useless in less than an episode. Seriously, they should have kept the danger and crisis of the Reset feature for some episode. Having a new feature to be so rendered weak despite being glorified in previous episode is so disappointing. Also, I don't really mind about Graphite. Frankly, he rarely did something so impactful other than using Gemdeus' virus. However, I still enjoy his appearances and his interaction with Parad. Though, I'm so disappointed with how the fight works. Really? Graphite managed to get his hand to Snipe in the last 3 episodes but now he is easily overpowered by him? Not to mention, he is still overpowered by Brave Level 100 despite he claimed that he had exceeded his level. I still can tolerate him but I facepalmed myself when Graphite can knock off and actually win over Cronus fair and square. Granted, he used his finisher and he didn't come out unscratched but it's still a bummer to see Graphite handled a much stronger enemy much better. |
I've got a theory for Doctor Mighty XX. I feel like Kuroto is going to use it to split himself into two things: Action Gamer Genm and Zombie Gamer Genm since the gashat features a black and white Mighty.

Doctor Mighty XX
looks so cool i bet its based on Doctor Mario, makes sense anyways a Puzzle game with Doctor Theme sounds like Emu and Parado |
Uh oh, FAIZ PLOTHOLES AHOY! So yeah, we're going to probably have a few plotholes this time around it seems. It's not showbreaking or anything to me, but it is disappointing. In general I'm not too pressed about the in general rapid pacing anymore either, since the show has always been breakneck in speed and at this point we really don't have time anymore to have things get drawn out.
On the episode front, it is really cool to see Parad and Emu really working together, Graphite's end was cool, and Shin Dan Kuroto dying 14 times in one night from his lack of ability to chill was darkly hilarious. Really curious about the mysterious new Gashat we see next episode too. Excited to finally wrap this show up! |
Loved it. Lovelica gashatrophy plothole is not big enough to ruin it. Fight choreography in this last stretch has been high end - really enjoying the extra effort going into it. What a fun, great show, I sure am gonna mis it when it's over; Build is gonna have to really bring it.

So, does it literally just keep raining while they're filming Ex-Aid and they just keep rolling with it? Because this wasn't even a melodramatic scene like the last couple times. Anyways, great episode: - I always had a soft spot for Graphite so it's cool to see him get some real focus for his final appearance. Remember back when he had his pathetic first "death"? Good times... - On the subject of trips down memory lane, there was a whole couple seconds of chibi-suit Ex-Aid! I'll take what I can get at this point! - Although I'm not sure why Emu and Parad even bothered doing that whole bit if they were just going to go to their strongest forms five seconds later anyway. Maybe it's because they're not actually trying to beat Chronus? Or perhaps they just figured that if, hypothetically, their lives were a TV show, merging together like that would make for a cool shot? - I can't help but feel it'd be a little more poignant after all his development if Hiiro flatly refused to help Taiga fight Graphite, especially considering it doesn't really seem like any more sensible a plan than the alternative, but hey, at least they made it clear his motivations for doing it are totally different now. - Shin-chan, this is exactly why I keep saying you need some sort of medication! That shriveled black thing you call a heart finally gave out from all the stress! :lol - It's delightfully morbid that he died from exhaustion like a dozen times in one episode though. Or maybe more like morbidly delightful, given that I've never liked Shin-chan all that much. - I'll give him props for actually shutting up when Emu told him to, however. That's more respect than people usually give him. - What's that Johnny? We could've seen the true ending of Kamen Rider Chronicle if Masamune hadn't called off the deal? How cryptic. - Speaking of which, poor Masamune. He's become just as ineffectual as his son in even less time. Dude is thoroughly defeated, cheats his way back into the game, and then immediately loses again. |
