Uchu Sentai KyuRanger Episode 28- "The BN Thieves, Disbanded!" Discussion
Naga has become a warrior of darkness, betraying the team. Balance is convinced he can restore his old friend, but refuses to harm him if needed. How can Silver's heart be restored?
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
A lot of feels going on with this episode, especially between Naga and Balance. Nice to see a that bit of insight on how Balance met Naga and I'm interested in what Echidna is going to bring to the table in terms of plot. Quite a few standouts moments with the action, from Kyurenoh getting dual arms and legs to Balance using the Sagittarius Kyutama to essentially nuke both himself and Naga. Very heavy cliffhanger too, with the Orion destroyed and the possibility that the team going to the past are dead.

Am I the only one that thinks Naga's actor looks better in Drag than in his usual suit? XD

Obviously the drama was turnt up to 11 for maximum effect. Naga's actor though is nailing the over the top just right. What I found unusually satisfying is that there was two storylines going on at once so it didn't make the episode so cut and dry. My guess is around episode 30 we'll see the end of Nagaquest. |
Wow, interest in Kyu has really fallen off, huh? I need another show so I'm probably going to pick it back up.
|
Well, gotta say, I'm SO relieved that the villain turned out to be lying to them in the end. Which means NO EASY RESOLUTION TO NAGA, YAY!!!
Also, the history of Orion & Don Armage is something to definitely look forward to with this story. |

now we are gonna see how lucky go to the past |
Great episode, but when it's about two of the best characters in the show how could it not be? Excited to see where all this goes.

Things picked up steam for the last few episodes though. I think there might just be a lot of people who watch and enjoy Sentai without feeling the need to post about each episode? It can be sort of a repetitive series so that'd make sense to me. Anyway I hope you enjoy Kyuranger if you do start watching it again. Despite a few flaws, I wholeheartedly believe there's a lot to love about it. |
I really like the transformation music in a minor key when Dark Naga transforms. They didn't have to do that but I'm happy that they did
|
It seems that they will be facing the vice-shogun in the past next ep, AND it seems that Tsurugi wasn't lying, past Tecchu doesn't have his wrecking ball, both of his hands look the same, and his shoulder-cannon thing where he holds his ball is gone. I didn't see any difference in other 2 though.
Also, why do they think trusting a Villain who tricked their friend into being her henchmen a good idea? |
This is where the benefits of having such a large cast shines. With 2 parallel storylines eventually intertwining. Got to say, this is probably my fave Sentai in years.

Skipped 27 and went right to this and man, this was a rushed mess. First off, the "female" Naga looks awful. The wig didn't cover up his black hair beneath it properly and the dubbed voice was terrible.
Also, did they really need to show the stuff with the team in the past? Why not save that for an entire episode on their own? This episode should have just stuck with Lucky's group. This has to be the most forced in mech battle of the series yet. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd they've already ended the team being split up arc. It hasn't even been an episode and they're already going to be back together. WTF Toei? Do you not understand the concept of pacing yourself? This entire series has been nothing but a rush job as if they have to get the whole story told in less than 50-ish episodes. The last few episodes were pretty solid and then this episode happened. UGH! |
