Kamen Rider Build Episode 6- "Moonsault Of Anger!" Discussion
Ryuga has betrayed Sento & released a SMASH creature, hoping to follow the monster back to its base & learn their secrets. Can Sento formulate a response?

A lot of answers about things that I wasn't expecting.
SMASH essence is actually a gas emitted by the wall. It triggers rapid cell division and mutation. Sento and Ryuga are both unique in that they were treated with the gass but did not transform into SMASH. They are apparently the only two this has happened with. |
For an episode titled moonsault of anger, there wasn't a lot of it. Although it was nice to know that Sento had built in safety measures in his driver.
And as usual, the butt monkey of the episode award goes to Banjou Ryuuga. For a guy with a Dragon Fullbottle, he is quite unmajestic. But then again, he is in his magikarp mode. He is set to evolve later. Nice to know that the Dragon Charger (is that what its called?) can suck out venom. Sento going berserk in the Faust laboratory is actually quite believable. All his insecurities come welling up at the sight of where he was experimented upon. It actually adds a human layer to him by showing he isn't all the smug and emotionally invincible. And it seems that even after getting the Dragon Charger, Ryuuga won't be transforming anytime soon, by the look of the next episode preview. That's okay, take your time. We'll be waiting. |
This was a great character development episode for both Sento and Ryuuga. I also am starting to really like Blood Stalk, the way he toys with Sento is great! I kind of feel bad, because I never have as much to say about Build as I did with Ex-Aid, but I'm enjoying it plenty. The pacing is just much less breakneck, so I don't usually have much to say.
About Claws though isn't he supposed to debut the episode after the next? |

So does the Episode 7 preview seem to hint at a possible identity for Night Rogue?

Oh man this episode was straight gold. The first one to not only match how entertaining the premiere was, but actually surpass it. We've been getting a very character-building set of episodes around this point since Gaim, but like, dang. The writing on Build so far has just been stellar. I remember everybody saying Ex-Aid 5 episodes in felt like most Rider shows halfway through and not buying it, but here? I seriously hope this Shogo Muto guy just pulls the same trick of writing the entire show, because the worst episode so far, 2, was the worst largely because there was TOO much drama, which almost sounds more like an accomplishment than a mistake. I should get to the actual episode, though. I loved it. It moved at a great clip, had some good action as usual (they're seriously spoiling me with the bike), and the character stuff with Sento, Ryuuga, and Sento AND Ryuuga was fantastic. There's just so much dimension to these guys and when you put them together, they really are a Best Match duo. Like, Ryuuga turning around and actually having to be the voice of reason to Sento towards the end was just- like it was SO good, and then Ryuuga pointedly calls Sento just by his name and Sento is just like- https://i.imgur.com/53C8oxo.jpg - so then I'm just like- :) - and like man this show is so good. It's been 6 episodes and I still haven't even gotten around to mentioning how great the villains are it's so good. |
I get the feeling that Kamen riders in Build are more stable versions of SMASH.

The way the story is paced, the scenes are set and the cinematography is like a Movie, is there someone on the crew who's a movie buff or director like Hideo Kojima?
|
My only hope is that the additional riders don't distract from these two buddies. Because this has all be fantastic so far. I think it's the W fan in me.

For two, we have a writer (Shogo Muto) who's written some well-loved movies (Train Man and Crows Zero). |

My favorite moment of the episode, though? Watching Misora repeatedly poke Banjou's unconscious body with her giant stuffed cat. Quote:

The fact that a Kamen Rider belts stabilize the same core powers as the enemies maybe starting with W. The Memory powers are more stabilized inside the W driver. Kuuga and Agito uses different powers than the enemies. Ryuuki literally uses the enemies. Faiz IS the enemy. (they are both Orphnochs) Blade uses the enemies Hibiki uses elemental(?), different than enemies Kabuto uses something the enemies made. Den-O is basically using the Taros. Kiva is basically the same as the Fangire, his belt is basically a key to open his powers. Decade is...well, doesn't harness the power of the enemies W is using the same memories as the enemies 000 is using the coins Fourze is using the cosmos energy, the same as the enemies Wizard is I think uses the magic energy, but through different means than the enemies Gaim uses the fruits from Helheim Drive uses the cybernetic powers Ghost uses the underworld's powers Ex-Aid uses the virus and now Build uses the Smash Essence |
damn
this show its moving at Gaim levels of lightspeed i love it I need more Ninnincomic action tho, that suit is just the best |
What I meant was that; Build seems to be an expanded version of the smash experiments. The intended next step if you will.

I'm loving this Ryuga and Sento bromance right now. Also love how they're slowly, piece by piece, building up to Ryuga becoming a Rider, like how they did with Kagami. He actually has to earn the title.
|
Gotta agree, loving that ryuuga didn't just get his powers in Ep 2
|
Build is still hitting it out the park this week, it's such a joy to watch Sento and Ryuga interact. The show is really living up to its promise of having heated man to man drama.
|
I always hold my opinion because a strong opening doesn't always mean the rest of the show will be any good and vice versa. I can now say that I like this show. I like it a lot. It's a great show to follow Ex-Aid.

The episode was good but the monster didn't get to do anything in either episode! We'll never get to figure out what he does now!
