Are we at that point where the rest of the monsters will be kitbashes?

Thoughts on this ep :
- So yeah, the omelette rolls scene happened exactly like I expected. There is no way Sento isn't related to Katsuragi somehow. Or else there is no point we see it so many times. - From what BloodStark says at the end ("Sento will create it and Banjo use it"), I feel like the data in the USB stick is related to the Sclash Driver creation. - Battle choreographies were really great this week. I like how the FireHedgehog finisher is transforming the opponent into a water balloon and pop it with the spiky ball. - In that Pandora's box activation flashback, the one activating it looks nothing like Souichi. Feels more and more like a lie. - A bit bummed nothing about the Pandora panel happened. Sento should have enough best match to fill all the slots now. But to be fair they were in Hokuto so far. so... - Nariaki Utsumi feels really REALLY close to Gentoku somehow during that scene with Katsuragi's mother, preventing the slap and all. Wonder how is character will be important at some point. Hopefully he is the Red Kaiser. Because for now his character is useless for an early announced cast member. - Banjo shirt at the end looks really great. |
This is the second time the Pirate bottle gets mentioned and not used. Grrrr, stop trying to tease me Toei

At this point it's kinda confirmed Stalk is Soichi. He's testing Sento and Ryuga trying to make them stronger. Plus he just gave them the USB without them having to take it from him.
|
Calling it now, Sento is Takumi's mind in Sato's body.
|
Whew! Build doesn't pull any punches does it? So much happened!
- Gentoku seems to have changed the most from the Pandora Box Incident if his father trusts him so much. His remembers him for the man he was, not the man he is. -That Fire Hedgehog Best Match was nice since it gave Sento another Best Match compared to the three Ryuuga identified for him. That makes three for Sento (RabbitTank, GorillaMond & FireHedgehog) and three for Ryuuga (HawkGatling, NinninComic & PandaRocket). -Let's all be honest, Night Rogue may have the coolest entry but its BloodStark who is the awesomer villain. Seriously, he is the Dan Kuroto of Build! Quote:

I'm really into the whole Riders as a military project angle this show seems to be going for, I don't think we've had anything QUITE like it before. Night Rogue and Blood Stalk continue to delight as villains too. I'm really intrigued by the fact that Cross's debut seems to be getting built up as such a major thing, it makes me wonder if he will be a bit like Gatack in that he is supposed to be disproportionately powerful.
This episode had a giant, glaring plothole in it though. Sento put a USB stick into the port on the computer on his first attempt, which is blatantly unrealistic. For shame Bandai! |

I wonder if it's the same thing as when Hongo Takeshi's scientist prevented him from turning evil. But if that's true, what happened to Satou Tarou's mind? |

My theory is that he is Katsuragi's body + sato taro's mind. That Katsuragi and Sato body swaped. |

Just hope Blood Stark doesn't die before that happens. I can imagine Taro dying in Katsuragi's body when Night Rogue kills him. But, Taro leaves behind his body for Takumi to live in so that he can continue fighting Faust & live his life as Sento Kiryu/Build. |
I dunno about Stalk being Sento's inverse. He's just too... smart for me to really buy him being Taro. Yes, he's very much got a punk attitude to him, but it's not really like what we've seen of Taro so far.
Not that I really have a better alternative suggestion, than... eh, something, something, Nebula gas personality shifting... I like that it feels like there's clearly some Red Herrings, the question being which ones are the false leads, ya know? |

Look guys, he was totally riding the bike in the intro, so it still counts! Okay but for real though if I don't see a bike two episodes in a row I'll give up this stupid bit. At any rate, I loved the episode itself (aside from the crippling lack of bike action!). I'm noticing Build is unusually good at having these heartfelt conversations between characters. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the show is great too but something about scenes like the one just before the cliffhanger here or Souichi and Ryuuga talking about Sento back in episode 6 or Sento's little spiel about doing the right thing in episode 3 or- Well, I could go on, but basically my point is that, for me, all the most memorable moments in Build so far have been scenes that are just people talking, and I think that's a very good sign for its quality. |
Night Rogue and Blood stalk basically shrugging off Voltech Finishes is pretty impressive
Blood stalk was hurt by one last episode, but was otherwise find night rogue was slightly stunned and fought on Egg dish a clue that Sentou has Katsuragi's personality/memories? |
So it shows why Build is built as half-half?
Huh, interesting justification there, writers. |
Can I just say that I LOL'd so hard at how Ryuga was getting his butt handed to him by the Smash, meanwhile Sento was busy playing with the FullBottles trying to find the Best Match, and when he finally gets it he frickin YELLS IT ALONG WITH THE BUILD DRIVER AS HE HENSHINS IN EXCITEMENT?!! OK, at first I was against this whole thing of him being lighthearted & treating Best Matches as a point of thrill to him.....but I think this moment justified it for me. LOL
Oh, and as a side note....I've been paying more attention to the OST of Build lately, and I gotta say, that main Battle Theme has grown on me quite a bit. I REALLY like it now. |
Man, this show is good. Like, this is the type of Rider I fell in love with again, finally!
I mean Ex-Aid was fantastic but with Build I feel right at home. Also, I love Blood Stark, that character is so good. I love how he's still just a suit to us, revealing his identity will be a major thing I assume. And congrats to them for delivering the best secondary Rider in a long time, they build up (pun intended) Ryuga so well for his future role. |
Fire Hedgehog's debut this episode was surprisingly short. I also feel like the tiny cannon on its left arm should've been a part of Rabbit Tank instead.
On to more important things, I'm kind of impressed by the amount of stuff Rouge is willing to let Stalk get away with. So far Stalk has; -Done the bare minimum to hinder Sento and Banjo's efforts -Shot Rouge with a missile -And now let Sento and Banjo fly away with important data he himself was trying to get ahold of 3 minutes prior. I wonder how much the rest of Faust has to rework their plans in order to accommodate Stalk's spur of the moment decisions. |
I really hate to say this, but the FireHog suit really just makes me think the way wrong things. I mean, he literally filled the enemy with water and then punctured it like a balloon, or other item you fill with water to flush out.
Dank thoughts aside, my moment with this was at the end with the mother. The idea that her son that had such a hard time conveying his emotions would write in one sentence a thank you posthumously to his mother something so profound. Tears, seriously. If Ghost had had this kind of emotional sentiment, it would have been a masterpiece. So good. |

I’m really enjoying how Build combines the two-episode arc with its longer ongoing storyline. It keeps everything feeling connected in a way that more episodic shows like Wizard didn’t.
Odd question: have we ever seen Sawa and Stalk in the same place together? I’ve been wondering why she isn’t in the opening credits and have started theorizing that she might be Build’s Scorpio. |

I'm liking the show and the frantic pacing it started out with seems to be mellowing out a little bit. It's still fast paced but not quite as bad as the first couple episodes that threw a lot at you so quickly.
That said,..I have the hardest time taking Night Rogue and Stalk seriously with those giant silly horns in the middle of their forehead. It just looks ridiculous to me. I'm constantly thinking they'd look so cool if only they each didn't have a traffic-cone in the middle of their forehead. ..and I wish Build was in Rabbit-Tank or Gatling-Hawk mode like 90% of the time. Some of the modes like Diamond and Vacuum Cleaner look way too silly to me. I'm really liking the show though and I think the action and fight scenes are getting better with each episode. I really like how Night Rogue can defy gravity and stand on the ceiling or the side of a tree. I feel like I'm constantly either going, "That was so cool!" or "That looks ridiculous!" though,..it bugs me sometimes. It doesn't feel consistent. Is it heartfelt? Is it serious? Is it ridiculous and silly? ...thankfully I haven't seen a Vacuum Cleaner as an arm for a few episodes now. Maybe they're still finding their footing. |
