Kamen Rider Build Episode 11- "Burn, Dragon!" Discusion
Sento's latest battle ended in disaster, losing the Pandora's Box and nearly all his FullBottles to Faut. Now in order to fight back, he must complete a dangerous new experiment...
SuperHeroTime HAS MOVED TIMESLOTS! You can still view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block now start at 8PM EST on Saturdays! |
Finally going to be getting Kamen Rider Cross-Z in this episode. Hopefully we get a decent amount of action with him and hopefully the two can fight together in the show itself before Banjo gets his upgrade.
|
|
Quick thing to note: If you live anywhere that is affected by the Daylight Savings Change then the time will actually be 7:00pm EST, I actually missed the episode 9 stream two weeks ago because of this.
Also the stream has apparently moved to a new site: https://cytu.be/r/tokunmecha ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haven't seen the subs yet, but this episode seemed pretty good. The Cross-Z suit looks great in motion, the bit with the dragon wrapping around him to form the extra armor was cool, and it seems now that Gentoku is in power the other two leaders can drop the pretense and start threating each other with full on war. |
There is not much to say about this ep.
It's a great episode again. BloodStalk mystery is still there. He talks to NightRogue like he is the founder of Faust/Katsuragi, but owner is nowhere to be seen in the whole ep as well. |
|
Cross-Z's suit looks really good it's a shame he lose it for that Charge form later on with the other driver.
|
Cross-Z is awesome, 'nuff said.
|
Only one thing I don't like. The Million Hit and and Million Slash effects should have been switched around, because Million Slash doesn't sound like it should be a dinky fireball compared to goddamn sound waves
|
that was a great episode!
everything from the humor and the birdwatching costume, to the "how do you even carry all those bottles around?" dialogue in the intro, to Misora having her adorable little psycho moments.. https://i.imgur.com/My3Ojc5.png https://i.imgur.com/Y6s7VWb.png (...she reminds me a lot of my ex. ..probably says something about my terrible taste in women. ) Then on top of all that humor we get the debut of the incredible Cross Dragon Rider suit. Which looked great. Ryuga gets the best lines, the best fights, the best comedic moments, and now the best suit? The best part of the show is Rider #2, imo. I can't think of any other KRider series I've seen where I liked the side characters/Riders more than the main ones. All the character development, the most personable moments, the best comedic moments, the best fights, and (arguably) the coolest looking suit and sword, all went to Ryuga. I thought this episode was pretty much perfect. A great balance of comedy and action, it advanced the main story arc a little bit, and we got to see the new Rider. Very cool. |
It was a good debut. Having the secondary rider as a supporting character from the beginning has really paid off, I think. I was also surprised that they didn't get the other bottles back. In most seasons, this would have happened immediately, but Cross-Z is still the only rider for now. Of course the preview for next week shows Build back in action again, so it won't last too long. I am hoping Sento will build another driver by then, although it would be a change of pace if they had to share for a while.
I also loved the scene where Ryuga has to fight without even a bottle and still managed to beat up the goons bare handed with only some minor difficulty. |
That was pretty great. They did a fantastic job with developing Ryuga alongside Sento to slowly get him ready to become the secondary Rider of the season.
I love how the transformation sequence is basically two dragon-halves with an attachment to it, you can even see sculpted hinges and stuff on the back of the suit, pretty cool stuff! They're also moving the plot along rather well, we're made to believe we know who Blood Stalk is, but I'm still not sure, the owner has suspiciously vanished from the show. |
"You keep all those bottles in your pockets? How do you keep them from falling all out?"
The meta humor of Build continues to drive my fever for this show. Also, Misora. Misora drives my fever. Cross-Z's suit right now is one of my favorites of any KR show. The design is so fluid. |
totally agree on all points. /\/\/\

I hope this is the start of Sawa joining the heroes full time and not the end of her run on the show.
|
I really like Kamen Rider Cross-Z and his Beat Crosser. That's all I have to contribute. Just glad Ryuuga got to transform.
And I really like that Sento can be so manipulative. He egged Ryuuga to go to the grave so that he would read the fake letter. I know it's a fake letter because how else would Kasumi know she was about to die? Answer, she didn't. The letter is a fake, written by Sento to motivate Ryuuga into becoming Cross-Z. For the next episode, I eagerly wish for ExpressPirate Best Match. |
Blood Stalk is The Owner.
Really, it's there. |

So, regarding his name, he is just called "Cross", right? The Z-part is completely silent?
|
Surprised that the Sawa subplot is progressing rather quickly. I thought she's gonna get exposed and ended up being one of the bad guys afterwards.

So, I think our Sento (Build) is Takumi Katsuragi with Taro Satou's face who had his mind wiped by Faust. The dead body is Taro Satou with Katsuragi's face.
The cafe owner is Blood Stalk. He created Faust alongside Katsuragi, maybe for a good cause (or at least not all-out war), but things went downhill after Night Rogue took over. The "Faust doesn't belong to you!"-quote from Blood Stalk might be telling us something. It's a bit convoluted but I wouldn't put it beyond this show to pull it off. |

I need dragon in SHF form Now
|
sometimes I feel like the only person that likes the simple vinyl figures. The SH stuff is so popular and prevalent.
..though I do have SH Agito Burning on the way, because it looks incredible. but surprised I don't seem to see much collecting of the vinyl figures talked about online. |
Okay so first of all, I think from here on out I'm just not going to bother with a picture for episodes that don't give me my weekly fix of bike action.
Second, this episode was great. All the gradual work the show did to grow Ryuuga up to this point payed off spectacularly. My only complaint is that the episode is maybe let a little down by Build's format of never-ending cliffhangers? Like once Ryuuga actually transforms we just kind of get a quick fight, a very brief emotional moment they deliberately undercut with a joke*, an internal reveal with Sawa, and suddenly you're watching the preview. I'm not particularly bothered by any of that, but I don't know, part of me wishes this already very strong episode were even stronger. Oh, and that whole "Blood Stalk has a built-in voice changer" bit was pretty slick, huh? First the face thing and now this. At this point anyone could be anyone and I'd buy it. :lol *A joke that is itself slightly underdeveloped? Sento's reaction suggests he wrote that letter, which definitely sounds like something he'd do and is a great gag, but Ryuuga asks "where he found it" instead of saying something more straightforward like "This isn't Kasumi's handwriting". It's all a bit odd is what I'm saying. |

Kuuga? cliffhangers Agito? cliffhangers Amazons? cliffhangers W? cliffhangers ..and what little I saw and remember of OOO's...cliffhanger I just started to assume that's how Heisei Rider shows are, not episodic like the Showa ones but more about 'the big drama/to be continued' way of doing things. |

Build has had that in a couple places but overall it mostly just refuses to stop for even a second. I can't stress enough how this ISN'T a bad thing, and I mean I haven't felt the need to complain up until now, but the pacing at the end of this episode just didn't feel quite right to me. |
ahh yeah I see what you mean.
W did have closure (of a sort) every two episodes,..Kuuga also. It stopped to catch it's breath. If I recall correctly the very first episode of Build was incredibly fast paced, almost unbearably so. Maybe that's just how this series is,..sort of frantic and full steam ahead. I know sometimes the cuts and editing are really fast too. Especially when Misora goes into 'Idol Mode'. |
