All across the city, people are disappearing from within locked rooms. The PatRangers investigate while the LupinRangers track down another Gangler...

Glad to see these teams not outshining each other so far.

Still really enjoying this show so far. It's nice to see the Patrangers finally get an episode properly about them.

Dear lord, I am seriously in love with this years sentai, the music, the style, the suits ! OH YES THE SUITS ! Also the characters, hopefully the "sixth member" character is not another The world or Star Ninger (( I utterly hate gag centered sixth members ! ))

Okay, not being fully fair here, I gave Ryu Commander a pass even with all the comedy parts to him because overall he was a fun character, while The World was, annoying..... But I tolerated him, but Star Ninger made me seriously angry, like the season he was part of he was just the worst.....

I kinda put Gokai Silver in the same bracket as The World.

Mind you I do not mind if the new member has some silly aspects to his design, such as Shinken Gold, because he was a solid addition to the cast with a good personality.

But please leave things like Star Ninger in the trash ! PLEASE D: !

Nice to see a Pato focus episode and I liked it a lot. Some things specifically.

We get a bit more about the red and pink. They have been partners and friend since their academy days, which explains why she seems so comfortable dealing with him when he's been unreasonable. Even the fact that red knew about the stuffed animal quirk and refused to say anything about it when asked says a lot about their relationship.

Pink getting captured--and instead of being damsel in distress breaks out about 30 seconds later. Nice to see the female getting helplessly captured thing getting pretty strong subverted here.

We continue the see the two teams slowly start to work together, if only a little and against the rest of the team. I'm glad they seem to be building this up slowly instead of them just suddenly becoming best buds.

Another police-focused episode next week. Looking forward to it.

Bad 6th Ranger Opinions. Especially on TheWorld and GokaiSilver. That's like, objectively the wrong opinion.

anyway I was slightly uncomfortable with the monster this week basically being a child predator/human trafficker. The scene with him attacking Tsubasa was creepy. The reveal of how he was doing it was funny though, really shows how the two powers thing works.

Also I like how the mechs don't seem to be AS big as usual?

Do not get me wrong, I do not hate them, I just dislike that their entire character is 90% their gag routine, I overall like Gokai Silver and The World, but both are forced into a comedy spot for their entire season, especially The World who went from a really interesting character to constantly having really REALLY dumb I AM DEPRESSED moments that lasted the entire season and was never anything other then a "gag funny haha" routine.

I see no objections about Star Ninger though !

I like the monsters so far this season, and I like that the show did not shy away from doing a character like that, it is overall really fitting considering it is a giant crime ring out to take over the world.

It was actually far darker when you take in mind the fact that Goche was literally talking about buying a couple for the sake of experimenting on them, and it was implied she has already done so before, she is already more of a character then Naria ever got a chance to be just with that one tiny line (( and I liked Naria.... ))

Goche already has one of the most disturbing designs among the villains, especially when they give us a show of her insides in motion, seems her mentality is also a horror show.

Reminds me of the first villain where they obliquely just mention that he is organ harvesting.

TheWorld is actually a slightly good interpretation of someone with depression/anxiety issues, which I have so I found him incredibly relatable and likable.

And I am going to object to StarNinger, he was the second best part of that show.

Yes, the villains and what they are trying to do is rather dark. Organ Harvesting, and now human trafficking. But it fits for an organized crime syndicate. These criminals are not just cutesy harmless bad guys, but do some of the same stuff that real criminals do. I personally like that and think it fits the show nicely. Especially since it draws a further line between them and the Lupinrangers, who ARE harmless criminals (assuming they even are technically criminals since they are just retrieving stolen property) I think that's probably why they are doing it. If we are supposed to root for thieves, then we can't have the bard guys also be realtively harmless criminals. They have to be clearly all out nasty, with no room for sympathy. Or as much as children's television allows.

It's nice to have an actual Patoranger episode. It's pretty good. I loved the reveal of how the monster's powers worked, and Tsukasa's reaction towards it.
I also enjoyed LupinYellow's decision to tell them about the Gangler. Was a nice moment overall.
The characters are all pretty fun, and getting to see more of 1gou and 3gou was nice, as well as their cute little backstory in the academy. I can't wait to see more.

And concerning the villains, you guys have to watch more Sentai. MOTW do this kind of stuff all the time :lol

I have to disagree. Zyuoh The World worked because he honestly felt like a man with so much power at his fingers and no idea how to use it. With a massive inferiority complex and just wanting to make some real friends, he was a fun character to watch. He was a fish out of water among fish out of water, really rounding out the characters. He was really something different and new~

I also liked the World. Unlike other characters that basically get tortured and are just fine, he basically was suffering from PTSD and various other mental issues as a result. I liked that they were actually dealing with that, even if you dealt with it humorously at times. At least they were dealing with it.

I actually got a sense that TheWorld might have been autistic, which, again, made him seem far more relatable as someone with high-functioning autism. Could have just been me looking too much into it.

Since this is the same writer as Zyuohger, hopefully Patren/Lupin X (and any potential new rangers cough cough) get some good development as well.

And in this episode we revisited the place in the Helheim Forest where we met the Overlords in Gaim. I love that place, nice scenery.

Um, no. There are two different theme songs playing at once in the opening, one for each. The songs are both about the Patorangers chasing the Lupinrangers, but one of them is from the Patorangers' perspective.

Yeah. And the Patranger side still keeps going "hold up Lupin" and stuff while only mentioning Patranger once

Not sure I agree with this complaint, the show has shown that the Patrangers matter just as much as the Lupins, the complete song is meant to be a duet, but each part will be getting a seperate version if I recall the notes about the song release.

While we have nothing but assumptions about how the actual OP will be used, I like that it is a joint song, I assume the split versions of the track will be used in the show when the main focus is on either team as a battle track, they generally use the main theme as a battle track here and there.

I can't believe they didn't change the main theme they've been advertising for months for this one episode

I understand it's a nitpick but again, I keep hearing LUPIN LUPIN LUPIN and it feels like there's no balance, which is a criticsm I had of the first 3 episodes though this episode is fixing that

Yeah... That ain't making it into the PR adaption. Human Trafficking might, although downplayed and more in general slavery, but not the Organ harvesting.
Yeah... Watching Sentai with my friend, it really was something considering how often Zyuranger and Ohranger got him to say "Oh God!" about the monster of the week... I think it was Bara Phantom? The one who'd abducted the little girls that most suprised him on how dark it was. And this was after we'd had two episodes in a row earlier where Baranoia was trying to convert humans and someone tried suicide with a gun to the head!

Its probably more to do with the fact that they want the central conflict of the rangers to be prominent which is a more interesting concept.

Its a single line in a scene they'd probably cut. There are other reasons why thsi show is less likely to get adapted, though.

Just to throw my two cents in on this one, I feel like even calling that a nitpick is a bit extreme. The lyrics for the flashy thieves brag about how great they are at stealing s*** while the lyrics for the determined cops brag about their ability to catch flashy thieves. Like, I get that it's literally saying "Lupin" a bunch, but then, "Pato" isn't even a word by itself, so...

That, and "Lupin" is the only word he recognizes because he doesn't speak Japanese. The song is very balanced.

Regarding the episode...

I loved it! This show is doing so many things I love that haven't been done in Sentai in quite a while.

This episode in particular features one of my most-missed Sentai elements -- MOTWs that can take human form! We haven't seen this consistently since, what? Shinkenger?

In shinkenger it was just sometimes, similar to Boukenger in that regard, the monsters this season seem to have a human disguise always which is pretty fantastic.

You just know we are going to have cases of "WHO IS THE GANGLER ?" eventually, the only reason the Lupinrangers know who to target is due to Kogure telling them and I doubt that is going to stay a constant for the majority of the show.

I assume this is what is eventually bring the team together as one, putting them in situations they have to work together in order to find and stop the Gangler of the week, and we all know they will do so in order to form the larger mecha.

Even though Lupinranger and Patranger are both the main characters, The Lupinrangers are the "main" main characters as they have a goal to accomplish where the main focus is getting the collection back, but they are still thieves which brings in the Patranger.
Do you think both teams will ever have a Batman-like dynamic in the future. Maybe not early on since they still have Lupin/Patren X as an undercover agent.

I like this show so far, it's fun.

But the PatRangers really need more focus and a proper backstory. I hope they get more episodes that the make the characters more interesting.

I'm probably the last person on this forum to realize this, but - this guy exists. I hope they can somehow fit him (and Drive!) in some sort of crossover with LupinRanger VS PatRanger.

Well, he is kinda dead, though that has not stopped characters from returning to life, his viral core with it his consciousness did die on screen, not a dealbreaker in a hero show mind you.

His gear is posessed by Krim, so it could show up again, I could see it show up in a VS movie.

Voted GOOD. I prefer the PatRangers over the Lupin as of now. Wish more Pat-centric episodes to come.
