If this story line would go on to the show. The ratings for Power Rangers would go up over night. I will buy the comic books. But this all so needs to be a part of the show.

Is this leading into a crossover with Super Ninja Steel?

It's a prelude to the comic book event Boom studios has been advertising. Part one will be released next week (Issue #25 of MMPR).

I know what Shattered Grid is, I read the comics, I was just wondering if this is hinting at a crossover with Super Ninja Steel, seeing how they have a suit for Lord Drakkon and we still know nothing about the past Ranger guest stars that will be in Super Ninja Steel at some point. Also seeing how Shattered Grid Crossovered with HyperForce it's possible they did some thing with Super Ninja Steel.

Ninja Steel filming was long long past completed well before Shattered Grid even existed. They film seasons of Power Rangers quite a bit in advance. It's one thing to sit in on an RPG livestream, but there never would have been an avenue to have this character be on or near set for Ninja Steel filming. It's just been completed for too long. I would put the chances of this event having an impact or interaction of any kind with the actual Ninja Steel TV series at close to zero.

If Shattered Grid ever did get adapted as a special Power Rangers episode or miniseries, I would watch it in a heartbeat.

Well you do realize that the comics are planned years in advance right? So it's possible that Saban did make crossover of Shattered Grid and Super Ninja Steel.

I've worked in the comics industry for a decade now. Trust me when I tell you that the planning of this comic had absolutely no bearing on a TV show that was already well into production and likely finished filming before this was even beyond the plotting stage. It's just not a scenario that makes sense given the windows of time we're talking about. This Shattered Grid special was specifically just filmed recently to promote the comic event. This isn't a case of the two having been filmed simultaneously, or adjacently, or anything of that nature. It's just not very likley at all what you're proposing.

Man, shame this is being wasted on a comic rather than its own miniseries or film.

Well damn! I hadn't even noticed that the first couple times I watched it. Love little details like that.

Nickelodeon would NEVER approve of a show that had this dark a tone!

Saban! Start taking hints! There is a market for a series devoted to older fans who want more!

The common tagline for the 2017 Movie was "Together, We Are More!"

Listen to the fans more and make something that fits their desire, and the franchise will be more!

I'm torn as to whether I would like a truly darker PR that strays too far away from Sentai, but I can't deny that it has some potential, and if Shattered Grid exceeds expectations and becomes as big or bigger than anything Marvel, DC, or Star Wars comics have produced in their long history, then PR will finally garner unbridled respect in the sci-fi/pop-culture world and be seen as a legitimate contender to the long-standing properties which preceded it!

They'd have to move it to the evenings for a special time slot for the miniseries, but if the ratings would be strong and it'd push family viewings, I could see them doing it if it'd be a ratings draw. Especially if they did a home media release after it like others did for their multi-show crossovers.

YTube Red or Netflix preferred because if it's a big enough hit then it could keep going.

Bigger question is how much would it have to be changed now that the original cast has gotten older since the comic takes place when they were still in high school. Jason Frank is the right age for Drakkon, but not young Tommy. Would love a series though that told this story about their universe before it gets to the major crossover point, or an alternate universe Drakkon that was stopped before Shattered Grid and how and the repercussions.

As for merchandising, definitely want to see what Hasbro makes! Would love some Joe style figures of the new ranger designs! Curious what ways the Zords could be done too, and if it had a show miniseries if BoJ would do candy kits for it. I'd love to see some candy kits of this if they were compatible to the standard peg system many use now. I love being able to swap accurately done zords for new Megazord combinations and it having actual articulation. Especially for something like this!
