Umika has a date- with Officer Sakuya! Both remain oblivious to the others' identity. Can they keep their secrets in the midst of a Gangler attack???

Props for Patren Sango on noticing the Lupinrangers personality quirks. Lupinred's cutesy Arigachu's should have been a red flag already. Lol.

Let me get this straight. The Gangler ate the people at a steakhouse before he ate the others in that restaurant we saw but when he expelled Kairi, Touma and the other customers we only see the ones we saw at the restaurant. So that would mean he already digested the people from the steakhouse. This might be the first time in a while there were fatalities in a sentai episode.

And let's not forget, shows such as Goranger, Denziman, and Liveman started with the bad guys just destroying everything except for the rangers.

Props for the series for giving us female Ranger focused episodes this early on. Usually they save them for much later.
And finally someone from Patren is putting 2 & 2 together. That means the reveal episode should be close. Also loved that joke of Luprens giving the final battle a pass. :lol |
I'm surprised they seem to be heading towards the identity reveal this quickly. I assumed it was going to take a lot longer.

I like that she's piecing together their identities this early. However, given how the show works, I'm fairly positive that there will be some sort of revelation at the end of the next episode that hides their identities or gives them an alibi or whatever.
While it does keep the cops from looking completely inept, it's still way too early for it to actually come into play. I could be wrong, though. As for the episode, I liked it. It's good to see an episode focused on Umika. She was always had the least amount of spotlight on her out of the other 6 rangers, and it's nice to see who she lost. I'm glad they didn't wait until like, the mid 30's to give her a focus episode like I was expecting. As for fatalities in Sentai, we already had some way back in LupinKaiser's debut. Because if you expect me to believe no one but the monster died in that fight, then you are adorably naive. |
The characterization in this show is seriously clicking with me. The only one who hasn't gotten a significant amount of focus yet is Sakuya and he still has loads of personality.
The way they're handling the Lupinrangers tragic backstories also continues to impress me. It's just a quick couple flashbacks but I found myself actually feeling for Umika here rather than merely understanding her. Not that I have a heart made of stone or anything, but I don't know, I just usually don't expect a whole lot of emotion from the early episodes of a Sentai. |
Oh yeah, I didn't mention Kogure's pragmatic reasoning for motivating Umika.
Does he truly not care for the Lupinrangers and only sees them as assets to get the treasures back? |
Dear lord, the people who got digested alive before that Gangler was stopped.....
They are not saved either, as has already been noted in the thread only the people from the last resturant escaped, barely, the stomach acids where already breaking down the various things they where standing on to avoid it. This years villains are fricking terrifying compared to the last couple of years. |
Thoroughly amused that Lupin 2 just casually changed into her gear as Patren 3 got his butt kicked outside the restaurant.
|
Looks like there's no way around the Lupinrangers not being discovered for too much longer. Which makes sense since there are many more power ups and a seventh to come.
I like the designs of the Ganglers, it reminds me a lot of the ToQ villains. |
