Tokusatsu fan meet-up in NYC: August 18th!!!
 

Hey guys! I didn't know where else this post would go, so I decided to put it here in "General Discussion."

As you all know, Power Morphicon is coming up. Many of us who want to go, especially on the east coast of the U.S. may not be able to go for some reason or another.

So... a remedy would be to join us in NYC on the 18th! =D

It'd be a really casual meet-up and everyone seems super-friendly. I don't think we're going to do cosplay, but henshin items, etc. are encouraged!

What is all involved in this meet up if you don't mind me asking?

Kamen_Rider_Meteor: This is a very casual meet up. We will first meet a predesignated location, eat lunch (bring your own or do a take-out deal), then as a group (depending on the size anyway lol) head to Japanese-related stores for toku merchandise, magazines, etc. and we'll maybe even hit up some comic book stores and/or Chinatown. The main point of the meet-up is to meet up with other members of the fandom and just have a good time. Were you looking for any aspect in particular?

coturos: Yes, you're right. PMC3 *is* in California and that's *precisely* why we're having a meet-up in NYC -- people can still have fun in the sentai fandom even though they may not have been able to attend PMC3.

MatrixBeast: Actually, you should totally take that idea further and scout out some people in your area. I'm sure you can do some sort of meet-up! :)

seriously though if anyone knows how to do a skype meeting with a bunch of people that would totally help those who cant attend

A meet-up for those who can't attend a convention. The only thing playing in my head when reading your idea is "A festivus for the rest of us".

Hmm, coturos, I don't have final count, but the best answer I can give you is a count somewhere between 10 and 20, so say about 15, give or take a few. :)

coturos: Either you can take a receipt or tell them it's Japanese (if it's a Japanese item)! Or... you can just wear a shirt or some cosplay item (not in full costume of course) or something. You have to be creative!
