This was a good episode even if I'm still slightly bitter about the last one
|
Was nice. A good "Believe in yourself" message from the most pragmatic Lupinranger.
|
This is the kind of episode that usually ends up driving me away from Sentai. Utterly generic plot that we've seen every other series do before with a really lame and cliched moral.
|
I can't really disagree with Switchblade's assessment of this episode but I honestly enjoyed this one a lot. It just wouldn't be Sentai without an episode like this here or there, and if you're going to have anybody writing a sort of generic Sentai episode, it might as well be Naruhisa Arakawa.
I think the big thing in this episode's favor is the series it's attatched to. Doing this plot with antiheroes like the Lupinrangers inherently adds an extra little layer of depth. Like, seeing Lucky help some kid out wouldn't be even remotely surprising or noteworthy. Between that and how fresh LuPat's otherwise been, I find myself willing to give this episode a pass. At the very least, it's a million times better then whatever that bats*** mess of a filler episode last week was. |
I really liked this episode. It handles its moral of the day really well and I liked how Touma and the kid interacted. I really don't have an issue with Sentai having these kind of plots, they provides a nice break from some of the more serious stuff which is good thing.

So next weeks preview is supposed to give us the impression that LupinYellow and PatoPink will have to reveal their identities to each other.
|
Whoa, did not expect so much dislike for this one. Or perhaps, just tired of seeing the same tropes?
Personally, I really liked it. Touma gets very little background when it comes to why he's such a pessimist. It is proof imo that the Lupins just have the better buy line. You are all correct, if it had been a focus on Paten Red, it would have flopped. Which is possibly why last week was considered a mess. Which it was. Still, the series works to be endearing. |

But I haven’t seen as much Sentai (or anime) so I wasn't really bothered by the plot. The only thing I realized is that this kind of plot is what the Patoranger side needs; the Lupinrangers get more and more likeable by the week. |
It was an okay episode overall, fine, nothing really mindblowing and we have seen this exact episode before as others have noted.
Not really an episode that deserves hate I would say, but it was not amazing, okay slow down breathing room episode overall. |
A problem is that it's a "Breathing room" episode that came immediately after a silly, gender swap episode.
Nothing exactly "Intense" worth having a slowed down episode like this. |

I cannot say the episode was bad though. |
No one is gonna point out that bracelet was just a slightly remolded and painted time force/timeranger morpher?
|
Almost all the Lupin Collection are modified items from other sentai.
This one was the most blatant, though. :lol |
